So could this mean that the split is real!? I think the split probably started as a publicity stunt, but in the end – it looks like it may be for real after all. TMZ is reporting that Spencer Pratt has been served with divorce papers by soon-to-be-ex-wife Heidi Montag!

Heidi Montag took the next big step to end her marriage to Spencer by authorizing service of divorce papers. We’re told Spencer received and signed the papers last week, which means the divorce can become final exactly six months from the time Spencer got the docs.

Heidi’s lawyer, Jodeane Farrell, tells TMZ … “Both Heidi and Spencer are in agreement to settle their divorce as quickly as possible without the need of a court appearance.”

Maybe Spencer stepping out on Heidi was the straw that broke the camels back? She recently took to her Twitter to lash out at him (even though she never said his name, we all know who she’s talking about)

Despite the separation and filing for divorce, Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt are still living under the same roof.

Some believe this is just another Speidi publicity stunt to regain their fame.

“Spencer thinks this is how he is going to get famous again, they have staged the entire thing separation/divorce thing,” the source said. Heidi filed for legal separation from Spencer in June.

“Heidi and Spencer have been living together in a house in Malibu since the original break up.”

Well, if this is true, it really comes as no surprise. I am sure these 2 will soon have a reality show based on them trying to work out their problems.

What? No more Speidi? Heidi Montag has officially filed for divorce from husband Spencer Pratt. Heidi filed for legal seperation 2 months ago and now has taken the next step citing irreconcilable differences as the reason for the end of the marriage .

“Heidi has amended her petition for separation and today has filed a petition for dissolution of marriage from Spencer Pratt,” Montag’s lawyer Jodeane Farrell tells PEOPLE. “The couple has agreed they would like their divorce to be finalized in a timely manner in an out of court settlement. Both parties are amicable with each other and over the possibility of finalizing their divorce.”

Just recently, Pratt, 26, admitted to choosing fame over his wife telling PEOPLE, “We love each other but I’m a fame whore and I’ll never grow out of it. [Heidi] knows that and doesn’t want that.”

I still wonder if this is all a big hoax. What do you think? Is Speidi truly over or is this just another one of ther publicity stunts?

The newly single Heidi Montag and her friend Jen Bunney had planned to appear in a new reality show together. But Bunney is reporting that those plans have changed and Heidi has dropped out.

Here’s what Jen had to say about the recent change of plans.

“Originally I was supposed to do a reality show with Heidi , but right now it looks like some things have changed,” Bunney — who left the second season of The Hills after feuding with Lauren Conrad over Brody Jenner — writes on her blog.

What’s more, she doesn’t know if “Heidi wants to be involved in reality TV at the moment with everything going on in her personal life (no we are not in a fight, and no Heidi is not “dropping” me to do reality shows with the twins).”

Montag is reportedly shopping around The Heidi Show with Hugh Hefner’s ex girlfriends, Kristina and Karissa Shannon.

Bunney says her show has still been greenlit.

“Since that recent development our original network and some others as well have offered to continue on with the show despite Heidi possibly not being involved, which I just recently agreed to,” she says. MTV is not one of the networks, according to her blog.

“Although, I of course wanted to pursue this project with her, I also respect that she has a lot to deal with right now and have to decided to go ahead and move forward with it alone, since these opportunities have presented themselves (my hope is that she will want to be involved later on),” says Bunney of her pal, who filed for legal separation last month from Spencer Pratt (even though sources have told Us Weekly they are “laughing” over their “fake split”).

Continues Bunney, “So I have already been to a few really productive meetings in the past few weeks, and the show is moving forward, looking to air this January. I was actually surprised that this happened, considering my name is not one that has been plastered across every tabloid the past few years, but I am super excited. I suppose the buzz from the original show with Heidi garnered enough interest and publicity and enough about me as an individual that several networks are interested in still pursuing it despite Heidi’s absence. So that’s the news for now!”

I feel pretty safe in saying that this will not be the last we see of Heidi Montag. She will have her own reality show no doubt about it. I sense a Heidi and Spencer reunion show…

Spencer Pratt is probably the biggest fame whore to hit reality TV. He’s always looking for ways to get attention, and this leaves many people thinking his split from wife Heidi Montag is fake.

Even though family and ex-friends believe the split is all for show, Spencer insists it’s real.

“We love each other but I’m a famewhore and I’ll never grow out of it,” Pratt tells PEOPLE. “[Heidi] knows that and doesn’t want that.”

“I want every kind of press,” he says. “She believes in bad press. There’s no way my love for fame and her love for puppies will ever work out successfully. She just wants to hike and hang out and be calmer.”

As for their infamous “Speidi,” moniker, Pratt says his estranged wife “doesn’t want to be Speidi anymore. She wants to be Heidi Montag: the sex symbol.”

“She thought I’d burn out of this, but no, I’m still the same Spencer who went on The Hills to be famous,” he says. “I still need to do stunts and take cues from Brad Pitt and Tom Cruise.”

Pratt, who mentions he and his ex are “friendly,” says Speidi trouble is nothing new. “It’s been a constant battle since we got married,” he says. “She would be like, ‘Are you really Tweeting that? Are you really doing that?’”

HA! Spencer Pratt took to his Twitter yesterday and posted the following Tweet:

Spencer is currently estranged from his family. He “felt his parents would talk to him only about Stephanie and that they charged him with taking care of her. He thinks she’s a loser and doesn’t want anything to do with her” according to Us Weekly.

“They noticed him changing two years ago and stayed by his side. But now it’s too much,” the source added. “They even took the pictures of him out of their home.”

Spencer married Heidi Montag in April of 2009, but the two have been separated since June 8th. Heidi split and headed for Malibu where she is to begin filming her own reality show about being single.

Sources still insist the fake is split in a desperate attempt to remain famous. “Heidi and Spencer are laughing over it and having a blast,” the insider said. (Indeed, even Spencer Twittered that he was at “the beach house in Malibu” on Saturday.)

UPDATE: Well, TMZ is reporting that the split looks to be legit! Apparently Heidi has lawyer’d up, and is looking to divorce Spencer… and QUICKLY.

We’ve learned Heidi has picked Jodeane Farrell to handle her divorce and this lawyer isn’t playing games … she’s already taking steps to get the quickest divorce possible in California.

Farrell — who has practiced family law for 24 years and currently handles divorce mediations — will be setting up a meeting with Heidi and Spencer in approximately two weeks. We’re told both Heidi and Spencer want the divorce mediated — meaning the two will try and hash out a property settlement privately, wait the six months required by California law, and end their marriage.

Heidi wants Farrell to be the mediator, provided Spencer is down with it. Farrell is a longtime friend of the Montag family, but she tells TMZ she doesn’t think there will be a problem in mediating the deal.

Farrell plans to meet with Heidi and Spencer together, and if he’s on board she’ll schedule a meeting with their accountant to go over assets and liabilities.

And Farrell says … so far things are “very amicable” between Heidi and Spencer.

My how things have changed! The couple went from absolutely inseparable to mudslinging in a matter of months. According to Radaronline.com, the couple are now accusing each other of having affairs. Heidi is so sure, she has hired a private detective to spy on Spencer!

He considered Cougar HIS friend, and he’s convinced himself the only reason Cougar would have sided with Heidi in the split is that “he wanted her for himself,” a well-placed source tells RadarOnline.com.

The source revealed that Heidi is just back from New York City and that Cougar accompanied her on the trip.

“They are definitely friends, and I don’t know if there is anything more to it than that, but Spencer believes there is. He’s certain there is.”
