The wait is almost over for “True Blood” fans — and today, we’re getting our first look at Season 5!

HBO has released the first teaser for the new season, and it’s an action-packed 30 seconds featuring explosions, vampire fangs, stripping stars and hot hookups.

It’s a quick montage of shots, but it’s definitely got us excited to see Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Alexander Skarsgard and Ryan Kwanten back in action.

Worth noting: Rutina Wesley’s “Tara Thornton,” who was last seen getting shot by a shotgun, does not appear in the teaser.

After a third horse died during production on Tuesday, HBO has decided to cancel their show new show, “Luck”. Here is the statement by HBO.

It is with heartbreak that executive producers David Milch and Michael Mann together with HBO have decided to cease all future production on the series LUCK.

Safety is always of paramount concern. We maintained the highest safety standards throughout production, higher in fact than any protocols existing in horseracing anywhere with many fewer incidents than occur in racing or than befall horses normally in barns at night or pastures. While we maintained the highest safety standards possible, accidents unfortunately happen and it is impossible to guarantee they won’t in the future. Accordingly, we have reached this difficult decision.

We are immensely proud of this series, the writing, the acting, the filmmaking, the celebration of the culture of horses, and everyone involved in its creation.

Shortly after the show premiered in January, HBO renewed it for a new season. It had a strong start, but as the show went on, really struggled to find an audience.

PETA was the first to call out “Luck‘s” rather bad luck, in a January 27 article, “Nothing But Bad Luck for Horses in ‘Luck.’”

“While filming the show’s pilot, a horse suffered a severe fracture after falling during a race sequence and was euthanized,” PETA stated. “Another horse was killed while filming a later episode. Two horses died for a couple of hours of television! PETA repeatedly reached out to series creator David Milch and others associated with the HBO production before shooting began, but our efforts were rebuffed.”

HBO has released a new trailer for their upcoming show, ‘Girls’, a show about a group of women in their 20′s who are dealing with life in New York.

The series, from writer-director Lena Dunham, premieres on April 15.

When the series was first announced, the comparisons to HBO’s Sex and the City and The CW’s Gossip Girl quickly arose, but from the looks of the trailer, this show will be a lot less glamorous and fashionable, and a little more self-deprecating than it’s New York-set predecessors. 


The story centers around Dunham’s character, Hannah, whose parents cut her off and whose boyfriend is treating her heart like monkey meat. Her friends are supportive yet harshly truthful with her, as they all try their best to navigate the choppy waters of work, love and life in New York.

At a TCA panel in January, Dunham said that the series, executive produced by Bridesmaids’ Judd Apatow, reflects a different part of society than Sex and the City and Gossip Girl.

“I knew that there was a connection because it’s women in New York, but it really felt like it was tackling a different subject matter,” Dunham says. “Gossip Girl was teens duking it out on the Upper East Side and Sex and the City was women who figured out work and friends and now want to nail family life. There was this whole in between space that hadn’t really been addressed.”

I can’t wait. I think it looks great. It will be a nice addition to HBO!

“Game of Thrones” isn’t coming back to HBO until April, but today we’ve got your first real look at the show’s second season!

The ones we love (like Peter Dinklage as “Tyrion”) and those we love to hate (we’re looking at you, Joffrey) are all back in the action-packed trailer — which gives a pretty exciting look at what’s to come.

Death threats, a stronger-than-ever Daenerys and the words “a very small man can cast a very large shadow” all have us excited for Season 2. How about you?

HBO has just announced they’ve renewed the Laura Dern series “Enlightened” for a second season, but gave three other shows the boot.

They are ditching ‘Hung’, ‘Bored to Death’, and ‘How to Make it in America’.

“Hung” (starring Thomas Jane) and “Bored” (with Jason Schwartzman, Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis) ran for three seasons apiece, while “America” had two.

Last week, Dern earned a Golden Globe nomination for Lead Actress in a Comedy for her work on “Enlightened.”

I’ve been telling everyone who will listen that ‘Enlightened’ is AMAZING. Really a great, great show. I really liked ‘Bored to Death’ and ‘HTMIIA’, but I can see why HBO canceled them. They weren’t awesome…. but they weren’t terrible either. Plus – Ted Danson and Zach Galifianakis in a show together? Yes please!

PS: Poor Brian Greenberg….that kid can’t catch a break!

But I’m glad ‘Enlightened’ is coming back. You guys need to check it out OnDemand if you can. It’s great!

Okay, you know how I know when something is going to suck – and when something’s going to be uhmazing? (Just say yes!)

I can tell by watching this that I’m gonna LOVE IT – and that means if you’re like me – you will too. Plus – I’m all about HBO. You put an HBO stamp on it – and chances are I’m gonna watch it.
