Hayden Panettiere is doing awesome according to ‘Nashville’ co-star

Hayden Panettiere is doing awesome according to 'Nashville' co-star

Following the December 2014 birth of her daughter Kaya, Hayden Panettiere opened up about her personal battle with post-partum depression. Afterward, she checked herself in for treatment so that she could get some help. Her rep said at the time, “Hayden Panettiere is voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression. She asks that the media respect her privacy at this time.

Her “Nashville” co-star Riley Smith shared an update her during a recent event. He and his fellow ABC stars went to the 2015 CMAs on Wednesday when he was asked about how Hayden is doing.

He said, “Good. I texted her, and wished her well. She texted me right back and said, ‘I’m awesome, thanks.’ So hopefully she will be back on the set soon.”

In September, the actress talked to Kelly Ripa and Michael Strahan on their morning show about postpartum depression. She said, “It’s something a lot of women experience. When you’re told about postpartum depression you think it’s ‘I feel negative feelings towards me child, I want to injure or hurt my child.’ I’ve never, ever had those feelings. Some women do. But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.”

Hayden Panettiere seeks treatment for postpartum depression

Hayden Panettiere seeks treatment for postpartum depression

Hayden Panettiere has entered treatment for postpartum depression. Her rep issued a statement saying that the actress is “voluntarily seeking professional help at a treatment center as she is currently battling postpartum depression. She asks that the media respect her privacy during this time.”

During an interview with “Live! with Kelly and Michael”, Panettiere said that she can relate to her “Nashville” character’s battle with postpartum depression. She said, “It’s something a lot of women experience. When [you’re told] about postpartum depression you think it’s ‘I feel negative feelings towards my child, I want to injure or hurt my child’ – I’ve never, ever had those feelings. Some women do. But you don’t realize how broad of a spectrum you can really experience that on. It’s something that needs to be talked about. Women need to know that they’re not alone, and that it does heal.”

She went on to say, “There’s a lot of misunderstanding — there’s a lot of people out there that think that it’s not real, that it’s not true, that it’s something that’s made up in their minds, that ‘Oh, it’s hormones.’ They brush it off. It’s something that’s completely uncontrollable. It’s really painful and it’s really scary and women need a lot of support.”

She added, “Women are amazing. We do something that no man can do on this planet. I mean, we grow a human being in our body!”

Kudos to her for getting the help that she needs. Maybe that will inspire more women to come forward and seek help.

Hayden Panettiere talks postpartum depression: ‘It needs to be talked about’

Hayden Panettiere talks post-partum depression: 'It needs to be talked about'

Hayden Panettiere says that she and her Nashville character Juliette have something in common – they both have experienced postpartum depression. She said in a new interview with Live! With Kelly and Michael, “I can very much relate. It’s something a lot of women experience. When [you’re told] about postpartum depression you think it’s, ‘I feel negative feelings toward my child, I want to injure or hurt my child’ – I’ve never, ever had those feelings.

It’s really painful and it’s really scary and women need a lot of support. Women are amazing. We do something that no man can do on this planet. I mean, we grow a human being in our body!”

She also joked that she wishes her fiancee Wladimir Klitschko could “figure out a way to get pregnant” and said that he would “absolutely” go through with it.

She said, “When I was pregnant, he would do this thing where he would suck in his stomach and then I would put my stomach to his so that he could feel when she was moving, almost like she was in his stomach. He wanted to feel what it was like to have a baby as close to him as it was to me.”

How sweet!

Motherhood Looks Good On Hayden Panettiere!

The 2013 Billboard Music Awards - Arrivals in Las Vegas

Hayden Panettiere isn’t “kidding” around when it comes to her kids!

The actress and fiancé Wladimir Klitschko had their baby girl Kaya back in December, and like any new mom, the actress gushed about being a parent during an interview with Good Morning America on Monday.

She said:

“[It’s] out of body. As you know. You know what it’s like. As long as your kids are happy and healthy and all good — it’s fabulous.”

But she also realized that she had to re-prioritize:

“You hear that they’re healthy, and you just don’t care about yourself anymore. It’s the most out-of-body experience, where you go, ‘I will completely lay myself on the line for my child. Without even a hesitation.'”

Oddly enough, both Hayden and her character on Nashville will be experiencing parenthood at the same time. Hayden speaks about this fortunate parallel:

“She’s trying to find herself. As a mother, you feel like you lose yourself for a second, which you should, and you’re giving yourself and dedicating yourself to another person. But she’s terrified that that is going to disappear, all the work she’s done throughout the years. That’s her identity.”

I’m 100% sure Hayden will have more kids, based on this interview. Don’t you?
