Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick, Jr. will all three be returning to the judging table for the fourteenth season of “American Idol”!
Fox made the announcement on Monday that the three have officially signed on for season 14 of the show. In addition to this, Ryan Seacrest will return as the host.
Executive producer Simon Fuller released a statement today about the news.
“I am thrilled our consummate host, Mr. Ryan Seacrest, is returning for Season 14, together with Jennifer, Harry and Keith,” he stated. “Their interaction, warmth and experience made them an absolute joy to watch. I can’t wait to see their evolution together continue next season.”
Although the show will retain the same judges, the format of the show might not be the same next season. The show will likely air only once a week, according to former Fox boss Kevin Reilly.
“I think you’ll see it a two-night format, at least initially during the audition phase,” he said before his departure. “It’s quite likely…we’ll end up being a two-hour show on one night for most of its run.”

If you’ve been wondering which of the three judges on “American Idol” would be returning for next season, then this little nugget is for you. According to reports, Keith Urban, Jennifer Lopez and Harry Connick Jr. will all be returning for season fourteen.
Jennifer Lopez, Keith Urban and Harry Connick Jr. will return to the American Idol judges table next season, a source confirms to PEOPLE.
Dubbed “the New Dream Team” last fall, the trio have had a “fantastic” experience on the reality competition, says the source.
“They like and respect each other a lot. What you see on camera is exactly what you get when they’re off – fun, playful but they all take this job very seriously.”
Did you expect one of them to want to jump ship?

American Idol judge Harry Connick, Jr. has a bit of an infatuation with Hollywood actress Sandra Bullock. Even worse, his wife Jill Goodacre is less than amused by his attraction to the actress. Who would be?!?
Since they starred in Hope Floats in 1998, Harry has fancied Sandra. Jill apparently couldn’t care less about his crush — until they moved to California. They are currently holed up in Los Angeles while he films Idol and that isn’t sitting too well with his wife.
A source revealed, “Jill feels threatened by Harry’s years-long attraction to Sandy. After what Sandy went through with her ex-husband cheating on her, she’d never dream of having an affair with a married man. She adores Harry, but as far as Sandy is concerned, they’re friends, nothing more.”
The source said, “Still, that’s little consolation for Jill, who has been stewing ever since Harry called Sandy and suggested they reconnect while he’s in L.A. Jill isn’t worried about Sandy. It’s her husband who she’s keeping an eagle eye on.”
Sandra isn’t the type of person that would allow any cheating nonsense to happen. After all of what Jesse James put her through, we would be surprised to see her dating anytime soon…Yes, he was that much of a douche. She does seem happy being a mother and having that as her main priority, though, don’t you think?

Jennifer Lopez and Keith Urban are returning as judges on American Idol, Fox Broadcasting announced today. Joining them this season will be Harry Connick Jr.!
Randy Jackson will also return – but not as a judge. He will return as an in-house mentor for the 13th season when it returns in January.
“American Idol has always been about discovering the next singing superstar, and next season our judging panel will deliver a most impressive combination of talent, wisdom and personality to do just that,” Kevin Reilly, Fox Broadcasting’s chairman of entertainment, said in a statement announcing the judging panel.
Jennifer, 44, returns after a season off. Last season’s judging panel of Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj didn’t fare so well with the public, and both were let go. Only Keith Urban was asked to stay.
Connick is the new face this season. The 45-year-old singer and New Orleans native has released 29 albums (WOW!) and has appeared in films, TV and stage.
