Harrison Ford became a top Hollywood actor by accident – after taking up drama class by mistake.
The Indiana Jones star only took the subject to raise his grades, but admits he had no idea what acting actually entailed.
He says, “I did it because my grade averages in philosophy were precarious because of my in attendance and poor attitude to scholarship. I only took drama because I didn’t fully read the description of the class.
“I thought, ‘Drama, how hard could that be?’ If I knew you had to get up and act and be in plays I wouldn’t have done it. When I found out what it involved it scared the bejesus out of me.”
But Ford soon realized acting was for him: “Before drama I never could figure out what I might be useful at. Then I thought about making a living as an actor. You get to travel and live different lives and study different kinds of lives.”

Shia LaBeouf will have to paint Harrison Ford’s garage if their new film Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull fails to become the most successful installment in the movie franchise.
The pair both star in the fourth installment of the action adventure series and LaBeouf is so convinced the film will be a box office hit, he has made a bet with Ford.
If the film fails to live up to his expectations and he loses the wager, LaBeouf will not only have to redecorate the actor’s garage, he will have to build the veteran star a new one too.
LaBeouf says, “If this is not the biggest Indiana Jones movie yet, then I’ve got to paint Harrison Ford’s garage. If it is a flop, I’ve actually got to build him a new garage and then paint that, too. But this film is gonna be huge. It has to be – I’m not too keen on the idea of all that painting.”

This is for all of us Star Wars junkies out there….you know who you are.
Carrie Fisher insists she considered having an affair while filming the iconic Star Wars movies with co-star Harrison Ford.
The pair are long rumored to have been romantically involved while shooting the classic movies – something they have both denied.
But Fisher has now revealed she had always dreamt of having a secret fling on set.
She says, “I went on the film saying, ‘I’m going to have an affair’, like it was a kiwi, an exotic fruit – because I had never had one.”
And the 51-year-old admits she was impressed by Ford’s good looks.
She adds, “I had a crush on Harrison for sure. Harrison is great fun when he’s had a few drinks.”

Harrison Ford has said that he never tires of playing the iconic Indiana Jones character that made him a household name nearly 20 years ago.
“I never tire of Indy,” the actor said on Entertainment Tonight while talking about the upcoming fourth installment in the series, Indiana Jones And The Kingdom Of The Crystal Skull.
Ford, 65, said the delay in producing a fourth film was due to the length of time it took to find an appropriate script.
“It was a matter of finding a story that Steven Spielberg, George Lucas and I all agreed on. Ten years ago, I thought it wasn’t going to happen. They finally had something we were happy with and it went very smoothly after that,” he said.
The veteran actor was also full of praise for his co-star in the upcoming film, Shia LeBeouf, who reportedly plays Indiana’s son Mutt.
“He is a delight, an absolute professional, well prepared and a really nice person. He works hard and I think he’s going to be around a long time,” he said.
The latest Indiana Jones film is due out in the UK on May 22nd.

Shia LaBeouf is set for a trip to The Dark Fields in an upcoming technological thriller.
The Transformers star will play a young man who comes into possession of a pill designed to improve intelligence.
But while his social standing rises as his bank balance swells, the hero finds his life changed for the worse by the drug’s side-effects, including the trauma-inducing ‘trip-switching’ which sees time suddenly endowed with a stop-motion quality.
According to industry bible Variety, LaBeouf has signed to star in Neil Burger’s adaptation of the 2002 Alan Glynn novel, with Hairspray scribe Leslie Dixon having penned the screenplay.
LaBeouf, who is currently working on the Anthony Minghella-segment of forthcoming ensemble drama New York, I Love You, can next been seen on UK screens in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, set for release on May 22nd.
The young actor will star as 50s greaseball Mutt Williams, sidekick – and possible son – to the adventurous archaeologist, and the 21-year-old has the backing of Harrison Ford himself, it seems.
“Shia is brilliant, distinctive and wise beyond his years,” Ford told the Daily Record newspaper last month.

Harrison Ford and Calista Flockhart were escorted away from Elton John’s post-Oscars party in the back of a police car.
The Hollywood couple was forced to ask for a little assistance from Los Angeles’ finest when the chauffeur-driven car they arrived at the party in failed to show up for the journey home. A party guest said, “They were standing outside waiting for their car to pick them up. They called and called and called the car, but the driver never showed up.” So the police stepped in to offer the pair a lift home. The party insider adds, “Harrison and Calista accepted and were taken home in the back of a squad car.”
A police representative reveals the couple was driven less than a mile to the Sunset Tower hotel to visit friends.
