Lena Dunham has landed herself a Vogue cover! Are you surprised? I am. I’m surprised by the cover… it doesn’t LOOK like a Vogue cover. I think the picture is great – but it just doesn’t look like a VOGUE cover.
The 27-year-old ‘Girls’ actress was photographed by famed photographer Annie Leibovitz for the February cover. The tagline names Lena the “New Queen of Comedy.”
Another picture from inside the magazine shows her on a bed with her costar Adam Driver (LOVE HIM).
In the interview, Lena opened up about the sometimes shocking depiction of sex on the HBO show, and said she wants to provide an accurate portrayal of sex for viewers.
“There was a sense that I and many women I knew had been led astray by Hollywood and television depictions of sexuality,” she said. “Seeing somebody who looks like you having sex on television is a less comfortable experience than seeing somebody who looks like nobody you’ve ever met.”
She’s also defending her still-controversial decision to have onscreen sex with the ever-so-hot Patrick Wilson in season two. Critics slammed the scene as unrealistic. CONTINUE READING AFTER THE JUMP (MORE PICS) (more…)

At long last, the season three premiere of ‘Girls’ debuted last night, and I was really disappointed. I was expecting…. I don’t know, humor maybe? It was almost a complete waste of two episodes (if you ask me). I found the premiere – and the episode they aired right after – to be very BORING, and that’s one thing the show has never been. There was nothing shocking about either episode, and I’d come to love that about ‘Girls.’ I felt like the two episodes we saw last night were awfully predictable.
They updated us on where all of the ‘Girls’ are.
Hannah and Adam are still together – but boring. Hannah is on medication to treat her personality disorder. Jessa is in rehab – but then gets herself kicked out. Marnie has been dumped, and her mom has bought her a new apartment. Last but not least, Shoshanna is slutting around with college boys and what-not, exploring the sexuality that was non-existent in the first two seasons. I feel like the first two episodes should have been one – and the second should have included some more humor. I hope this isn’t how the whole season is going to be – otherwise I’m going to be bored to tears.

Lena Dunham and the rest of the ‘Girls’ cast sat down at the Television Critics Association press tour in Pasadena, CA, where they answered questions about their hit HBO show. When a male reporter asked Lena about her frequent nudity on the show, her fellow producers Judd Apatow and Jenni Konner defended her.
“I don’t get the purpose of all the nudity on the show by you particularly,” a male reporter told Dunham (via TODAY.com) for the panel’s first question. “I feel like I’m walking into a trap where you go, ‘Nobody complains about the nudity on Game of Thrones, but I get why they’re doing it. They are doing it to be salacious and, you know, to titillate people. And your character is often naked just at random times for no reason.”
“Just like humans,” Konner replied, before Dunham issued her own response.
“It’s a realistic expression of what it’s like to be alive, I think, and I totally get it,” explained Dunham, who plays Hannah Horvath on the show. “If you’re not into me, that’s your problem, and you’re going to have to kind of work that out with whatever professionals you’ve hired.”

The beautiful Allison Williams lands the February (WTH) cover of InStyle UK to promote the third season of ‘Girls.’ I love Allison. Her character sort of makes me insane on ‘Girls,’ but I love-hate her. I’m sad her on-screen boyfriend has left the show, because I think he is half of the reason why I like her character. It will be interesting to see what they do with her this season. Will she still be as uptight?
There isn’t much from the interview that’s been released so far…. but here’s what we did get. She talked about Lena Dunham (of course) and her BFF Katy Perry.
On Lena Dunham: “When we first met, I felt like I’d known her forever — it was weird. I’m very protective; it’s in my wiring. My rule is, ‘if it isn’t bugging Lena then it’s fine with me.”
On the success and criticism of Girls: “[The praise] was like a tidal wave and I knew at some point it would all have to come washing back the other way, that there was going to be an equal and opposite reaction.”
On Katy Perry: “Talk about someone who wears it lightly. She’s the most followed person on Twitter and still somehow has time to ask, ‘So, how did the photo-shoot go?’”
On playing Princess Diana: “When I was younger I played Princess Diana. I was in junior high school and I wore a blonde wig. I was obsessed with her.”
