Gerard Butler has given the comic book geeks the seal of approval after they passed up the chance to claim his watch and glasses as souvenirs.
The Scot was at this year’s Comic-Con in San Diego, California promoting his new Guy Ritchie film RocknRolla when he suddenly realised his expensive timepiece and sunglasses were missing.
At first he believed rabid comic book fans had picked up a couple of extra souvenirs – at his expense.
He says, “It was madness… I was signing posters and my watch kept catching on them, so I took it off and put it between my legs and then walked off. And then I thought someone stole my sunglasses.”
But Butler didn’t take comic book fans’ code of conduct into account – the items were turned in to event security by fans.
He adds, “This place is great.”

Gerard Butler refuses to allow fame to inflate his ego – and insists he is still a normal guy despite his successful career.
The 300 star thought his life would be dramatically altered after finding success in Hollywood, but he is adamant he has not changed.
He says, “(As a celebrity) you’re still the same person who has to deal with getting out of bed every morning, going to the toilet, taking a c**p, whatever. I think there’s a part of you that always imagines that if you encounter success, every fiber of your being will change. You know your whole cellular structure will change. And you will suddenly think and feel and behave like a different person. But you don’t. You’re still, ‘Oh, so-and-so didn’t call me’ and ‘F**k, I have to take care of that bill.’”

Gerard Butler is desperately seeking a mystery girl he accidentally scared away during a dream date.
The 300 star made the mistake of dashing to the bathroom during a meal, while his date was away from their table. When he returned, his dream girl had fled.
Single Butler, who was recently linked to Cameron Diaz, explains, “A few years ago, I went out with a girl and we were having a great time. I remember thinking, `I really got this.’
“She went to the toilet, and I thought, `You know what? I’m also going to the toilet.’ Maybe I took a little longer to get out of there than I thought. I came back and she was nowhere to be seen. I never saw her again! We went from having a great date to completely losing each other.”
Butler refuses to name his mystery date.

Here’s your man, Erin!
Gerard Butler can be seen walking down Robertson Boulevard. Gerard has two movies coming out soon, “The Ugly Truth” and “The Untouchables:Capone Rising”.

So much for those romance rumors.
Nim’s Island star Gerard Butler vehemently denies that he and Cameron Diaz are hooking up.
Reports claim the two got cozy at the Shutters Hotel in Santa Monica, California, and Teddy’s bar in Hollywood’s Roosevelt Hotel.
But Butler, 38, says everything has been blown of proportion.
“If I take a dog for a walk, apparently I’m f—king my dog!” Butler told photographers Thursday in L.A. after a morning run.
Diaz, 35, recently told British GQ that she doesn’t want to be tied down.
“It’s the first time I haven’t had one in 10 years, and I’m enjoying what I’m getting out of this moment,” she said.

Gerard Butler is a real life hero, before finding fame, he was honoured in his native Scotland after saving a young boy from drowning.
The actor was handed a Certificate of Bravery by the Royal Humane Society of Scotland in 1997 after putting his own life on the line to pull a child from the River Tay.
But the 300 star refuses to accept he was brave: “I didn’t feel like a hero at all.
“I was initially gripped by fear and an empty feeling, thinking that the boy was dead.”
