Romance rumors began to swirl this summer when Jennifer Aniston and Gerard Butler started meeting. Turns out Jen was interested in…Gerard’s acting!
Jen, 39, has nabbed the 300 star, 39, for a role in The Goree Girls, a woman’s prison saga she’s set to produce and star in next year. “The thing that really blew her away was P.S. I Love You,” a Jen insider tells Life & Style. “Gerard’s performance made her laugh and cry.”
Should Jen’s on-again boyfriend, John Mayer, be worried about the Scottish hottie? “She’ll get a kick out of having romantic scenes with Gerard,” the insider says. “But she wants to go home at the end of the day with someone like John.”

Gerard Butler was so wild in his youth he was convinced he would die young.
The RocknRolla star gave up alcohol in his mid-20s because he would go off the rails when he was drunk. And his behavior was so outrageous that he feared he would end up dead.
Butler tells British magazine Marie Claire, “I was totally wild. I would headbutt walls, punch walls. I was a Dr Jekyll and Mr Hyde. But I could also be Mr Entertaining – people would say, ‘You’re hilarious!’. But I definitely had a suicide wish. I once woke up in Paris at 4am, five miles from where I’d been at a party. I had gashes to my head, my face, my arms, and I had blood all over my clothes. To this day, I don’t know what happened.”

Gerard Butler would love to revisit his hit 300 movie, but has no idea how a prequel or a sequel would work.
The star played Spartan king Leonidas in the surprise 2006 hit, and Butler loved everything about the movie. It also brought him a lot of attention, which he has failed to match since.
He explains, “You’ve got to move on and it’s a shame because there’s a part of you that thinks, ‘I was so attached to that movie and it’s success and what it meant to me.’ There’s a part of you that wants to pull that off again… I heard some back room chatter about another 300 movie. I don’t know if it would be a sequel or a prequel but I haven’t read anything. I can’t see it myself, the idea in general. I’m not sure which way they would go with that. When Russell Crowe did Gladiator he didn’t come back and do another one. Like mine, his character died.”

Thandie Newton forced director Guy Ritchie to fake a sex scene between her and Rocknrolla co-star Gerard Butler – because the Scottish star was suffering from a cold.
On the day the pair was scheduled to leap between the sheets, Butler arrived on set sick – and Newton was so scared of catching his cold, she refused to kiss him.
The actress says, “Gerry was very unwell indeed. So I wouldn’t kiss him. Guy had to improvise. I don’t know how he coped with those problems but it ended up being one of the most brilliant scenes.”
Meanwhile, Ritchie’s wife Madonna tried to cure the sick 300 star with vitamin shots.
He admits his celebrity nurse only served to make him feel worse: “I got a shot from his (Ritchie’s) wife Madonna! I was sick, and she was a nurse basically. Guy introduced me to her and she said, ‘You’re the sick one?’ and I said, ‘Yes’. Well, she was amazing. She just said, ‘Drop your pants’. I stood there with my little bottom out, and she gave me a shot in the bum! It didn’t work at all – I got more sick!. But I appreciated the effort.”
