George Clooney has broken up with Sarah Larson after nearly a year of dating.
According to a friend of Sarah’s, the Leatherheads star recently moved out of his LA home while the 29-year-old former Las Vegas cocktail waitress removed her belongings.
“George is relieved to be single again,” says an insider. “He thinks Sarah is sweet and that is why it was so hard to break up with her.”
As In Touch previously reported, George, 47, and Sarah struggled to make their relationship work because of their different backgrounds. “The truth is they had little in common and he just doesn’t want to be tied down,” explains the insider.
George’s rep told In Touch: “I can only confirm that we have never commented on George’s personal life.”

George Clooney is speaking out on the death of film legend Sydney Pollack, who succumbed to cancer Monday at age 73.
“Sydney made the world a little better, movies a little better and even dinner a little better,” the actor – who worked with Pollack in 2007’s Michael Clayton – said in a statement.
Pollack, most famous for directing Out of Africa, Tootsie and They Way We Were, co-produced and starred in Clayton. (He also served as executive producer for Clooney’s Leatherheads.)
“A tip of the hat to a class act,” Clooney’s tribute continued. “He’ll be missed terribly.”
At the time of his death, the Oscar-winning director was surrounded by family at his home in Pacific Palisades, said his publicist Leslee Dart.

The annual amfAR Cinema Against AIDS benefit kicked off in the hills high above Cannes yesterday. Last year, George Clooney auctioned off a kiss for $300,000, but this year Madonna’s alligator Chanel purse was the star of the show.
The black alligator bag with a clasp studded with 334 diamonds was the actual purse she carried to the event, and that’s not all. She even gave up everything in the haute couture bag including Shu Uemura blotting paper, lip gloss — “It actually touched my lips”, Madonna noted — lip balm, a magnifying mirror, and throat lozenges. The only thing she took out was her blackberry and phone, explaining “I’m not going to give up my blackberry and phone because that’s too expensive for you.”
The final winning bid? 300,000 euros — that’s over $471,000 — for AIDS research! Sorry George, looks like Madonna’s chic purse is worth more than your kiss. As Madonna joked, “That’s cheap. Everyone’s kissed George Clooney.”

George Clooney has vehemently denied reports he launched a bitter attack on socialite Paris Hilton in a recent magazine interview.
The Michael Clayton star was said to have slammed the hotel heiress during an interview with Rolling Stone magazine, allegedly calling Hilton a “wannabe” and ridiculing her acting talents.
The star was quoted as saying, “There is a funny thing that happens when you are a young actor. You equate financial success and getting jobs with whether or not you are good at it.
“And it still happens. That’s why there is Paris Hilton. Now I’m in trouble with Paris Hilton.”
But the Hollywood hunk’s representative states the comments were taken out of context, insisting the quips used in the article were not connected.
Clooney’s spokesman Stan Rosenfield says, “He made a long joke in between those two quotes. Making fun of himself. Two different statements are being used that were barely connected.”
Rosenfield adds, “And (they were) certainly not the spirit of the interview.”

George Clooney has hit out at wannabe actress Paris Hilton, claiming movie fans shouldn’t mistake her success for talent.
The Oscar winner insists too many young stars think they’re good actors, just because they are landing roles and making money.
He tells Rolling Stone, “There is a funny thing that happens when you are a young actor. You equate financial success and getting jobs with whether or not you are good at it.”
And he singles out Paris Hilton as one example: “And it still happens. That’s why there is Paris Hilton. Now I’m in trouble with Paris Hilton.”

Hollywood heart-throb George Clooney caused chaos when he turned up at an office building in New York for a photoshoot – with female workers clamouring to catch a glimpse of the star.
Clooney arrived at the Hearst building at 10am on Tuesday to shoot a layout for British film magazine Empire’s 75th anniversary issue.
But news that the actor was in the vicinity soon spread, and groups of women began gathering in the lobby to wait for Clooney to emerge.
And, by the time the Clooney made his exit, the building was packed with admirers, all jostling to spot their idol.
A source tells New York Post gossip column PageSix, “All the fashionistas lost their cool. You couldn’t even get to the elevators because of the throng of women. The women cut out of work to hang in the lobby and catch a glimpse of him.”
But Clooney reportedly took the huge crowds in good spirits and “danced with different women” who work in the building.
