Garth Brooks is Retired No More

GARTH BROOKS Leaving The Ivy Restaurant In Beverly Hills (USA ONLY)

Country music superstar of the 90’s, Garth Brooks, had a press conference in Nashville yesterday to announce a new album and a world tour – which is huge news considering he retired back in 2001.

The return of the Nineties giant, even at age 52, signals major competition for today’s young hitmakers and the antithesis to the “bro country” currently reigning on the charts. Brooks, while praising contemporary country music, stated that his new songs wouldn’t veer toward “bro country” or “hick hop.”

“If you had to put it in a box for me, [it’d be] ‘Garth Music,'” Brooks said, describing his work in the studio. Later, he added the type of content he has been known for — Western fare like “Rodeo” and “Much too Young (To Feel This Damn Old)” — will be well-represented. “You’re damn straight we’ll do cowboys songs on this album.”

Brooks is married to another country legend, Trisha Yearwood.  I guess we’ll see if he can keep up with the ‘bro country’ and ‘hick hop’ that is all over the radio these days!

Garth Brooks on Trisha Yearwood

GARTH BROOKS Leaving The Ivy Restaurant In Beverly Hills (USA ONLY)

Though both were married to other people when they first met back in 1987, Trisha Yearwood and Garth Brooks have proven to be a country power couple!

In a new interview for the Friday, Nov. 29, episode of The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Brooks opens up about falling in love with Yearwood, whom he married in December 2005.

On First Meeting Tricia: “Well, it’s strange, because I felt that feeling like when you just meet your wife, but I’ve been married for 13 months.'”

On Marriage:  “Being married, it’s got to be right. This is who you went to college with, and you were married in front of God and your family and everything,” he told DeGeneres. “So you keep hacking, and you work and you work and you work. And then comes that time where you’re looking at the rest of your life going, ‘How do you want to live it?'”

On His Relationship Now: “This was somebody I always enjoyed being around. And we had a lot more in common than I ever dreamed we did. And so we started seeing each other after the divorce,” he said. “We’d known each other music-wise, but we got to see each other as people. And I’ve got to tell you, if you like her and don’t know her, you’ll love her. If you love her and don’t know her, you’ll worship her. She’s the real deal.”

On His Marital Happiness:  “I’ve got to tell you, I never knew it could be like this,” the 51-year-old crooner told DeGeneres of life with Yearwood. “I never knew that everyday you could wake up and feel like this. And I have God and I have Ms. Yearwood to thank for this.”
