With the screenwriters’ strike over, Eva Longoria-Parker is returning to Wisteria Lane – and getting back in shape.
“We’re back and it’s like we never left,” Longoria-Parker told PEOPLE Saturday afternoon in Los Angeles while accepting a donation for the children’s cancer charity, Padres Contra El Cancer. “We were such a well-oiled machine before we broke so stop was jolting.”
Having dismissed pregnancy rumors in January by pointing to her strike-induced indulging, the Desperate Housewives star is back to her work health regiment.
“I’m working out, I’m eating my healthy food I get prepared,” she said with a sigh. “It is so much easier being in shape when you’re on the show because you have a chef and the gym is right there, so you really have no excuse.”
Fresh off a plane from San Antonio, and heading to catch a place to New York, quality time with husband Tony Parker may be limited, but the actress is still in honeymoon mode.
“We’ve only been married seven months so I hope the spice is alive on it’s own!” she laughed.
Along with her work on the show, Longoria-Parker has another project: her new Latin restaurant Beso opens in Los Angeles on Thursday.

Eva Longoria Parker has been seen shopping for a nursery, sparking rumors she is pregnant.
The ‘Desperate Housewives‘ actress - who is married to basketball star Tony Parker - was spotted admiring furniture and clothes in exclusive Los Angeles’ children’s boutique Petit Trésor.
A source told Britain’s Star magazine: “She and a girlfriend were ooh-ing and ahh-ing over all the baby things. She looked at cribs, changing tables and inquired about designing a nursery.”
“She bought a $116 Robbie Adrian blanket and a half-dozen Huddy Buddy Babygros, including one that proclaimed, ‘I tend to drool.’”
Eva - who married Tony in a lavish ceremony last year - has made no secret of her desire to become a mother.
She once said: “I’ve always loved the idea of having lots of children. If I’m around any baby, I’m like, ‘Aaaaahhhh, babies!’”
“I was pretty ambitions when I moved to Hollywood and I succeeded. But now I’ve found new ambitions - I want to work, I want to be a great wife and I want to have children. This is a new chapter in my life. I will be very sad to go but I’ll have more time to do movies.”
Eva recently denied rumors she was pregnant, claiming her recent weight gain was down to the recent Hollywood writers strike as she couldn’t go to work.
She said: “No pregnancy, not yet. I’ve been cooking and eating, cooking and eating. I keep telling everyone that I’ve gained 10 pounds just being on strike.”

Desperate Housewife Eva Longoria Parker is so smitten with her husband, Tony Parker, that she often flies halfway across the world just to spend a few hours with him. Something reeks of distrust here, but that’s just me.
She says that she likes to spoil her basketball star husband and treats him to surprise visits when their busy work schedules keep them apart. She said, “I’ve left work at 11 o’clock at night and got on a midnight flight from L.A. to Texas just to be home in time for breakfast. One time I flew from L.A. to Switzerland to surprise Tony. We had dinner and then I flew back the next day.”
Think she’s checking up on him?

Miley Cyrus is crushing the box office competition! She beat out Jessica Alba and Eva Longoria Parker at the box office.
Despite opening on just 683 screens, her concert flick Hannah Montana & Miley Cyrus: Best of Both Worlds Concert Tour raked in $29 million, nabbing the No. 1 spot at the box office.
By comparison, Jessica Alba’s horror flick The Eye, which opened on four times as many screens, netted $13 million. Eva Longoria Parker’s comedy Over Her Dead Body opened on less than 2,000 theaters, earning a paltry $4.6 million.
“Miley is the hottest entertainer in America,” says Us movie critic, Thelma Adams. “She’s got music, movie and TV appeal — she’s a triple threat!”
Meanwhile, Longoria Parker “is still seen as a Desperate Housewife,” Adams says. “She cannot sell a movie, and doesn’t have a film career yet.”
And despite Alba’s recent misfires — her last bomb Good Luck Chuck only made about $35 million — Adams says, “I don’t think you can judge Jessica Alba by this. She’s very charming and appeals both to men and women. She just has to pick good projects.”
