Eminem, one of music’s most captivating performers, is set to take the stage at the 2009 MTV MOVIE AWARDS. Eminem’s performance comes days after the release of his anticipated album Relapse, available May 19. Hosted by Andy Samberg, the eighteenth annual MTV MOVIE AWARDS will air on Sunday, May 31st at 9PM (Live ET/Tape Delayed PT.) Presenters and additional performers will be announced at a later date.

For the first time in Movie Awards history, MTV is letting the fans participate in the nominee process. Beginning Monday, April 13, voting will open and viewers will be able to select the 2009 MTV MOVIE AWARDS nominees from an eligibility list of over 200 movies on movieawards.mtv.com. MTV Mobile will also enable viewers on the go to text VOTE to 66333 to vote for nominees in the Best Movie category from their mobile phone. Voting for this round will close on April 20.

On May 4, the 2009 MTV MOVIE AWARDS nominees will officially be announced. Viewers will also have the opportunity to vote on the winners online and on their mobile phones. This second round of voting will close on May 18, with the exception of Best Movie which will remain open through the show. This video is straight up crazy! In Eminem’s new video, “We Made You” he makes fun of Jessica Simpson, Kim Kardashian, Lindsay Lohan and Samantha Ronson, Jennifer Aniston, Rock of Love, Amy Winehouse and many more. I thought it was really funny, but it’s sure to rub many the wrong way!

And holy cow, Eminem lost weight!  He had gotten pretty chunky there for a while, but he’s back – and skinny as ever!

VIBE has today announced Eminem as the winner of the Best Rapper Alive competition. The Detroit native beat out New York’s rap king Jay-Z in the Final Round with 69 percent of the votes, crowning him as the people’s choice for the true king of hip hop. The results of the contest are detailed in VIBE’s November 2008 issue hitting newsstands October 21st.

“It’s obviously an honor to have won the fans’ support by being voted the Best Rapper Alive,” says Eminem in response to his victory. “I don’t think that there is any one rapper that is simply the best though. Everyone who was in consideration and many others are the best at certain things, and at what they do. But since Vibe’s offering the distinction, hell yeah I’ll accept!”

Eminem is working on new material for an album which may be released before the end of the year, reports suggest.

The controversial artist has been on a break from the music industry since he released his 2004 album Encore, but claims he is back in the studio working on a sixth album.

“I’m concentrating on my own stuff right now – just banging out tracks,” he explained.

“The more I keep producing, the better it seems I get. I start knowing stuff, learning the boards like the back of my hands.”

A representative from Interscope records said that no official release date had been confirmed nor a first single but admitted that the album could find its way on the shelves before the end of the year.

Speaking to BBC Radio 1 recently, fellow collaborator 50 Cent said that fans will be “seeing [Eminem] shortly”.

“He’s working. I spent the weekend at his house. Even though he tries to relax and stay home, it’s impossible for him to stay in,” he added.

Eminem is facing legal action after he was accused of assaulting a man in the bathroom of a Michigan strip club two years ago.

Miad Jarbou is suing Em for allegedly punching him while standing at a urinal at Cheetah’s On The Strip Gentlemen’s Club in Detroit.

In legal papers filed in Oakland Circuit Court on Thursday, Jarbou claims that on the night of July 13, 2006, he and a pal entered the restroom, where Eminem, who was accompanied by a bodyguard, was relieving himself.

His friend saw the rapper and said, “Hey Eminem, what’s up man?’, but was allegedly ordered by the star’s security to “Shut the f**k up” and “Don’t say another word”.
Jarbou claims he came to the defence of his unnamed pal and replied, “Hey man, my friend ain’t (sic) starting trouble. It’s just cool to see Eminem.”

According to the lawsuit, Eminem then stepped back from the urinal and “without warning or provocation… drove his fist in a violent punching manner” into Jarbou’s face, knocking him off his feet. The star and his bodyguard are said to have then left the toilets.

Jarbou says he has “undergone physical pain and suffering, emotional distress, ongoing serious injuries requiring medical treatment”, as well as “embarrassment, humiliation, medical expenses (and) wage loss”.

He is seeking more than $25,000 in damages.

No charges were brought against the rapper at the time of the alleged incident and his representative has yet to comment on the case.

Eminem poked fun at fellow rapper LL Cool J live on radio this week, when he made a prank telephone call to the star testing him on his own lyrics.

LL Cool J was a guest on DJ Tony Touch’s show on Sirius Satellite Radio’s Shade 45 show on Tuesday when Eminem called in, pretending to be an unknown rapper from Miami, Florida called Jason.

He challenged the Phenomenon star to a game of Name That Tune, and started reciting line after line of several of LL Cool J’s songs – all of which he guessed correctly.

He then rapped lyrics from his own single Lose Yourself – before revealing his true identity to a shocked LL, reports MTV.com.

Eminem then extended an invite to his rap peer, insisting he should visit his Detroit, Michigan home and hang out with his pals Dr. Dre and 50 Cent.

He said: “Listen, man, you got this relationship with Dre. You’re cool with 50, so when are we gonna hang out? I got cable at my house, and the game is on.”

Rapper T.I. has formed a strong bond with Eminem in recent months, after the hip-hop mogul reached out to the Bring ‘Em Out star to offer his support during his legal woes.

T.I. was handed a 1,000-hour community service sentence in March, after pleading guilty to weapons charges relating to his October arrest, when he allegedly tried to buy unregistered machine guns and silencers.

And, while spending several months on house arrest at his Atlanta, Georgia home, T.I. reveals a number of his hip-hop peers got in touch to help him through his troubled times.

But no one was more supportive than Slim Shady.

Speaking on Atlanta radio station Hot 107.9, T.I. says, “I wasn’t expecting to hear from nobody. I made a point not to reach out to people… because I didn’t want to get none of my trash in nobody else’s yard… Jeezy actually came to one of my hearings. …I spoke to (Lil) Wayne a couple times, spoke to Puff (Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs), Jay(-Z) a few times. I probably spoke to Busta (Rhymes) the most. The only person I spoke to more than Busta was Eminem. Me and Eminem stayed in contact, stayed on the phone. Just checking in on each other, making sure one another was doing good. Of course I spoke to Nelly, a lot.”
