Katy Perry makes an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” on Tuesday, May 22nd. Katy talks with Ellen about her upcoming film “Katy Perry: Part Of Me” and why she thinks it was important to show all sides of her life while shooting the film.

Ellen: Like you said, you shot the good, the bad. Who knows what’s going to happen in your life when you start shooting things? You got married during that time.

Katy: I did.

Ellen: And then that didn’t turn out to last and that part of it is still in there?

Katy: I thought it was important for me..First of all, I thought it was important to show everything in between. I think sometimes people think that we’re perfect and we know we’re not perfect, at all. I think it’s important start breaking down the idea that to achieve your dream you always have to be perfect or flawless or live in some kind of fantasy world. So that’s why I decided to put everything into the film. In the most tasteful way. But mostly it’s about how I go there and the ride along the way which can be bumpy but mostly it was extremely fun…

I actually really want to see her movie. From what I’ve seen so far it looks like it will be really interesting!

Ellen DeGeneres and Portia de Rossi are hit by the economy, too!

The celebrity couple is really downsizing from their 49 million dollar compound (which they sold to Ryan Seacrest)  into a cozy $18 million mid-century modern Beverly Hills estate. Looks like the two will have to slum it with a mere 8,500 square that includes 4 bedrooms, 6 baths, a commercial kitchen, a couple of  patios and only ONE rectilinear swimming pool.

Ugh, this economy, am I right?

The two had gotten used to their megamansion, which had 9,200 square feet.  I’m sure Seacrest is very pleased!

John Mayer stopped by Ellen Degeneres, in an interview that will air today. The singer opens up about why he took a break from the spotlight for the last two years and why he still can’t sing…

John Mayer on taking break for the last two years…

John: It was a really good time. I had to go home for a minute. The plan that originally gets you out high school and your hometown, in front of people. That plan was over. I had done it. I just sort of lost my head for alittle while. I remember one time was I was a kid, I went swimming and I closed my eyes and I kept swimming and swimming and came up out of the water and I was way passed the buoys and the life guards were blowing me in.…I kind of lost touch and I didn’t want to ask for directions. I did a couple of some dumb interviews and it kind of woke me up.

Ellen: Is that what it is? The interviews? Because you got a lot of attention for the Playboy interview and I don’t know what else but is that when you kind if went, oh, you were not proud of that..

John: Oh yeah, I don’t even remember having a Rolling Stone cover. It was a very strange time and it sort of rocketed me into adulthood. It was a violent crash into being an adult. For a couple of years it was just figuring it all out and I ‘m glad I actually stayed out of the spotlight. Because I think back then I would of said, give me two weeks or like let me get out and do “Ellen” and let me explain myself. It was like no, idiot. Go away be 33 and 34 instead of 28 for the 4th year…

John: I can’t sing so I’m writing.

Ellen: You sound fine so what’s wrong with you?

John:…it’s a thing in my throat. It’s not a health concern what so ever but it has taken me out of signing. Tried to beat it the first time and couldn’t. What they actually do is they cut this thing out of your throat and then they inject your vocal cords with botox which freezes your vocal cords so that this thing can heal with out smacking up against the other side. I just need more botox next time. So I got to do it all over again get more botox which kind of paralyzes for vocal cord for longer. I’m very happy to be a writer, really lucky to be a write.

Ellen DeGeneres and Brad Pitt walked through the lower ninth ward in New Orleans last week,  and discussed the progress of “Make It Right”. The event was filmed for a segment on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” which will air this afternoon, Tuesday, March 20th.

Ellen:  Let me start from the beginning.  Lets start from when you first fell in love with New Orleans.  Where were you?  What year?

Brad: Early 90’s and it was a bit of a blur because New Orleans will do that to you.

Ellen: I don’t remember last night.

Brad: Yeah I understand. I fell in love with the place.  The people. The music. It’s in the air.  It’s something you can’t describe on camera.

Ellen: It’s just got to make you feel so good that you’re doing this and that everybody’s saying, thank you.

Brad: I know but I’m getting far too much credit for this. This took a lot of very smart people coming in and attacking the situation. It took the families determined to come back and their resilience and they’re defining what this thing was going to be. I get far too much credit for bringing some really smart people together.

Ellen: Obviously you’re an example for your children. Do you think anyone’s going to end up in design in architecture?

Brad: I think I got one.

Ellen:  Really?

Brad: Yeah.

Ellen: You’ve got to be happy about that.

Brad: Yeah, I’m pushing them that way.

Ellen: That’s like an athlete wanting their kid to be….

Brad: A little bit.  When you see them drawing crayon houses. That’s a beautiful house, honey.  Jut keep pushing them..

Ellen: What if the elevation was like this…

Brad:  The door proportion wise was just over to the left….

Justin Bieber made a special appearance on The Ellen Degeneres Show in celebration of  his 18th birthday.

While there, Ellen told Justin that his manager, Scooter Braun, had a birthday surprise for him and he was going to receive it right then and there on the show.

“You work really, really hard and I always yell at you, ‘Don’t get anything flashy. We’re not about that. Be humble.’ And I kind of broke my own rule,” Bruan said.

Braun talked about the importance of being environmentally friendly on and off the road, as well as Bieber’s love of cars.

“We decided to get you a car that would make you stand out a little on the road, and I think you know where I’m going and you’re freaking out a little bit right now. It’s a Fisker Karma,” Braun said as the shiny black car appeared on the set. Braun said the car was a gift from him and Bieber’s mentor, Usher.

The all-new 2012 Fisker Karma is the first luxury all-electric car, valued at more than $100,000.

When a shocked Bieber saw the car, his eyes widened and he kept repeating, “That’s for me? That’s for me? That’s crazy.”

I agree with you Justin, that is crazy.  I wish someone would throw a $100,000 car my way!

Justin Theroux appears on today’s Ellen Degeneres show, and during his interview gets roped into break dancing!

Justin told Ellen, “I have a very particular pair of shoes which I breakdance in. Actually when my girlfriend (Jennifer Aniston) I don’t know if any of you guys know her. She just recently celebrated a birthday and ever since she saw “Zoolander” she’s been obsessed with making me break dance. Literally obsessed with it. I break danced at a friends wedding. So she’s been saying when are you going to break dance? That’s when I sort of invented this thing. Well, I have shoes my “breaking shoes” and if I don’t have my “breaking shoes” then I don’t breakdance, sort of full stop. We got home that night . It was late and she literally came out with a pair shoes. My actual “breaking shoes.”

Ellen then surprises Justin with his break-dancing shoes, apparently given to her by Jennifer. (Uh huh, sure.) Anyway, Justin puts on his fancy shoes and break-dances for the audience.

I couldn’t really focus on his break-dancing, because all I could pay attention to was how little he is! He is one little man! So skinny! I wonder what size jeans he wears, seriously, that is one teenie dude.
