Elisabeth Hasselbeck Has a Baby Boy

elizabeth_blog.jpg

Elisabeth Hasselbeck has given birth to a baby boy.

The View co-host gave birth to Isaiah Timothy on Sunday afternoon in a New York hospital.

“Elizabeth and Isaiah are doing great,” her husband, Tim Hasselbeck, said.

This is the third child for Hasselbeck and her former NFL player hubby. He joins older sister Grace Elisabeth, 4, and brother Taylor Thomas, 20 months.

The newborn weighed 7 pounds, 7 ounces at birth.

Hasselbeck announced her pregnancy on The View in January.

“We were thoroughly happy with the surprise of it,” she said. “I didn’t even know for two months — I was walking around — I thought I had — I kept saying, ‘Electionitis, electionitis.’” (She said she felt sick while attending the inauguration earlier this month.)

She added at the time: “I was tired, I was nauseous, I thought I was worn out from the whole procedure,” she went on. “No. I was knocked up and didn’t realize it.”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck dismissess plagiarism claim

Elisabeth Hasselbeck

No worries, says Elisabeth Hasselbeck – who took a brief moment during Wednesday’s The View to comment on the copyright infringement charge against her by a Massachusetts author.

“I just want to assure you the allegations are without merit and are being handled appropriately,” said Hasselbeck, 32, who has spoken openly about her self-diagnosed celiac disease, an autoimmune disorder linked to gluten proteins in wheat, barley and rye.

Hasselbeck’s book, The G Free Diet-A Gluten-Free Survival Guide, was published in May 2009 by Center Street Hachette Book Group. Crying foul, and seeking $3 million, is Susan Hassett, who claims that in 2008 she had sent Hasselbeck a copy of her own book – the self-published Living with Celiac Disease – along with a homemade cooking video, a newspaper story about celiac disease, her business card and a personal note.

The message expressed Hassett’s hope that Hasselbeck was well and noted that the TV personality was lucky to catch her celiac disease early. Hassett also offered to discuss her book with Hasselbeck in order to spread the word about celiac disease to her viewers. In return, she never received so much as a thank you, says Hassett.

Instead, Hassett claims Hasselbeck infringed on Hassett’s copyright by stealing her material “word for word” and copying the format of her book. In her lawsuit, filed Monday in Boston federal court, Hassett says she will donate a portion of whatever proceeds she receives from the suit to create a camp designed for children with celiac disease.

On Tuesday, a statement released on behalf of Center Street and Hasselbeck, said, in part, “There is no basis for the allegations in the Complaint as published in the press. Ms. Hasselbeck worked diligently and tirelessly on her book and is disappointed in this attempt to discredit her work and her ability to bring this important message to the public.”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is pregnant again!

elisabeth-hasselbeck-premiere-made-of-honor.jpg

Elisabeth Hasselbeck is expecting her third child. In fact, she says she was knocked up without even realizing it!

“I’m pregnant again!” she announced Thursday morning on The View. “I’m due in August. I’ll try to pop this one out before we leave [on summer hiatus], Barbara.”

The 31-year-old and her husband, Tim, 30, are already the proud parents of 3-year-old daughter Grace, and son Taylor Thomas, who just celebrated his first birthday Nov. 9.

“We were thoroughly happy with the surprise of it,” she said. “I didn’t even know for two months.”

The ardent Republican added that she thought she was tired from the hoopla of the election, but “No – I was knocked up and didn’t realize it!”

Elisabeth Hasselbeck Gets Apology from the White House

On today’s live taping of The View, conservative co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck complained that she didn’t receive her usual invitation to the White House Christmas party.

“Maybe I didn’t do enough for the Republican party this year,” Hasselbeck said on the show.

Turns out, it was never the intention of the White House to not invite her or her husband, Tim, to the soiree.

“Following today’s live show, Elisabeth received a call from the The White House, and they both had a great conversation,” Karl T. Nilsson, the executive publicity director of The View told Usmagazine.com. “The President’s office apologized and explained that she and her husband were indeed invited to the White House for Christmas and were sorry that it did not arrive. It was simply an oversight.”

Before finding out that the snub was unintentional, Hasselbeck said she had a “bone to pick” with the White House.

“I love Christmas cards,” she said. “I love getting them. There is one in particular that I usually like, and it’s an invitation to the White House Christmas party. Not the big one but the 20th one down the road that you get the leftovers at the party. I’d be going to that one. No invitation this year.”

Hasselbeck, the only fan of President George W. Bush on The View, spent the past campaign season working for the Republican campaign. She even introduced Governor Sarah Palin at some of the rallies.

“Both Elisabeth and Tim are hoping to make plans for a visit to the White House in the early New Year,” Nilsson told Us.

Elisabeth Hasselbeck in Tears After ‘View’ Discussion on N-Word

0000041852_20070802150607.jpg

“View” co-host Elisabeth Hasselbeck was in tears Thursday after a discussion about the use of the n-word, in which fellow co-host Whoopi Goldberg told her the two “don’t live in the same world.”

During a segment covering Jesse Jackson’s recent use of the n-word while preparing to tape an interview on FOX News, Whoopi and co-host Sherri Shepard, who are both black, contested that the word has a different meaning for black people.

“It’s something that means something way different to me than it does to you,” said Shepard. “I can use it as a term of endearment.”

Shepard also said to co-host Barbara Walters: “I don’t want to hear it come out of your mouth.”

Hasselbeck contested that “We [blacks and whites] don’t live in different worlds, we live in the same world.”

Goldberg, who used the n-word repeatedly during the broadcast (it was bleeped out), said that “We don’t live in the same world. What I need you to understand is the frustration that goes along with when you say we live in the same world. It isn’t balanced.”

Hasslebeck tearfully replied that “when we live in a world where pop culture then uses that term, and we’re trying to get to a place where we feel like we’re in the same place, where we feel like we’re in the same world … how are we supposed to then move forward if we keep using terms that bring back that pain?”

Rosie O’Donnell sends baby gift to Elizabeth Hasselbeck

“Peace prevails” with Elisabeth Hasselbeck and Rosie O’Donnell, as O’Donnell confirmed to PEOPLE Thursday night that she has made up with her former foe – and even bought her a baby gift.

On her way into the premiere of The Little Mermaid on Broadway, O’Donnell said of Hasselbeck’s 2-month-old son Taylor Thomas: “He’s very, very cute. I saw him on TV, and I sent him a lovely gift, and [she and Hasselbeck] have been e-mailing each other. And peace prevails.”

Hasselbeck returned to The View this week, bringing the baby with her.

As for Rosie’s baby gifts, they were in proportion to the scale of the conflict between Hasselbeck and O’Donnell when both sparred on The View.

“I sent something for him and something for his big sister [Grace, 2],” said O’Donnell. “Because, as the mother of four, I know that when the newborn arrives, the most important thing is a sibling gift. For [Taylor], it was a lot of clothes, because babies spit up a lot. I go to Baby Gap. There is a standard newborn gift pack – as much as you can buy at the Gap without being arrested. And a learning gift, a soft shape sorter. And then for [Grace] who is older, I got a tea set that she loves.”

O’Donnell says that Hasselbeck herself has bounced back after giving birth – and they’ve stayed in touch. “We e-mail back and forth,” she said. “She seems good. She looks like she adopted, like she didn’t give birth. She looks perfectly fit and gorgeous already.”
