Drew talks about her own life, boyfriends and future.

On the Hollywood career she would like to try:

“I’m in my thirties now, and I really want to try all the things that I haven’t gotten to do yet, like directing, and doing a drama. I’ve produced and gotten to do a lot of optimistic love stories, and that was so where I was at for 10 years in my life. And now I feel like, Okay, now I know how to do that. I wanted to get scared again.”

On preparing for the role of Grey Gardens’ Little Edie:

“I did what I do when I have a big challenge lying in my path. I go to school. I shut the windows, the shades come down, the phone gets turned off, I don’t go out – I study.”

On her split with boyfriend Fabrizio Moretti:

“It’s hard to be with someone for five years and say, This isn’t going to work. But it was a time in my life where I finally just said, I can’t live for anyone else anymore. I have to be on my own.”

On completely transforming for the acting:

“I knew this was not a courtesy meeting, but not far from it. I didn’t want to come in there like a hungry freak. But I also felt every second counting. So – polite conversation, then he started looking through my binder, and I saw his demeanor change, actually noticing all the hard work I had put into it. So I just put it out there. I said, ‘Look – I have all of this inside of me, and I promise you that I will change my face to be her. I will learn how to stop talking out of the side of my mouth. I will go to school to relearn body language. I will shut out the world. I will not talk to my friends. I will give up my life for this, because I don’t think you can play this character and have a social life and balance the two mentalities. I won’t act. I’ll become this person.’”

Despite rumors of not being together, Justin Long and Drew Barrymore are still spending time together. Prompting the question “Is he just that into you, Drew?” The two were spotted walking around Venice Beach with some friends.

It may be called Grey Gardens, but HBO’s upcoming film based on the classic 1970s documentary is anything but grey.

E! got an exclusive first look at the colorful one-sheet featuring Drew Barrymore as real-life Little Edie Beale and Jessica Lange as her mother, Big Edie circa 1973. The Beales, who were relatives of Jackie Onassis, made headlines when they were discovered living as recluses in a decrepit East Hampton, NY mansion.

Barrymore ages from 18 to 61 in the film, while Lange’s years span from 38 to 77.

Lange’s prosthetics alone included a fake forehead, eyebrows, jowls, sagging neck, new nose, mouth, teeth and even earlobes!

For Big Edie’s later years, Lange was outfitted with sagging breasts made from birdseed, when rice and more traditional fat suits failed to do the trick.

Barrymore’s 42 costume changes go from glamorous 1930s couture to Little Edie’s signature look, featuring an imaginative use of scarves, skirts and tablecloths that were usually accessorized by a gold brooch.

Eight months after breaking up, Drew Barrymore and Justin Long had two, romantic dates back-to-back in LA this week. The on-again couple walked into Hollywood hotspot Bar Marmont on Thurs., March 12, arm in arm, surprising onlookers. “Drew walked in with Justin, and all heads turned. They were definitely acting like more than friendly exes!” an eyewitness tells Life & Style.

Drew and Justin spent the next few hours engaging in full-on PDA. “They couldn’t get enough of each other. I don’t think they even noticed that there were other people in the room! In between kisses it was all smiles and laughs.” The next night, the lovers reunited at Ike sushi in Hollywood. “They sat at the sushi bar and ordered Sake and dinner. They were both in a great mood. They were smiling ear to ear the whole time, and laughing and looking they were so happy they were going to burst,” an eyewitness tells Life & Style.

“Once they polished off the sake, Justin ordered a Sapporo beer and split it with Drew. Justin grabbed Drew’s hand and held it on his thigh. They looked in love. They finished their dinner with him springing for the tab, and walked out arm in arm.”

In April’s W, Drew Barrymore opens up about her estranged relationship with her parents.

She says she still has “no contact” with her mother, Jaid, from whom she legally emancipated herself at the age of 17 because she was a bad influence. (Barrymore famously went to rehab twice by age 13.)

“My mother and I split ways when I was very young and have never really reconciled,” she says.

In her upcoming HBO movie Grey Gardens, Barrymore plays Edie, the devoted daughter of Edith Bouvier Beale, a first cousin to Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis. “Edie chose her mother over the world,” Barrymore says, adding that their relationship was “a love story.”In real life, Barrymore says she and her mother are “the polar opposite.”

Her relationship with her father, actor John Barrymore, was less arduous.An alcoholic, he left before she was born and was absent for much of her childhood.

“He was so feeble, I could actually nail him down,” she sarcastically says. “He was such a flighty bird — unattainable and off doing his own thing. I’m sure it’s affected my relationships with men. I’m sure I’m sadder about it than I admit, but I accept that a lot easier than my mother’s and my relationship, which is more tumultuous.” (more…)
