So Hugh Hefner and Crystal Harris‘ engagement and wedding have been called off. In case you didn’t know, Life & Style magazine reported back in March that Crystal, while in a relationship with Hugh, had been dating Jordan McGraw, son of Phil McGraw aka Dr. Phil.

As Life & Style first reported in March, Crystal had been dating her songwriting partner and the son of Dr. Phil behind fiancé Hef’s back. Life & Style first spotted the 24-year-old lovebirds cozying up at the Chateau Marmont in LA on March 14. While Crystal attempted to keep their romance low-profile, Jordan didn’t care to hide his affections and was kissing her shoulder and trying to hold her hand – which was still adorned with her 6-carat engagement ring. The pair met through the Organica Music Group, where Jordan worked with Crystal as a songwriter.

Crystal and Hef, who got engaged in December, were only days away from their June 18 wedding date. “Crystal informed me of the news this morning and that the decision to call off the wedding was mutual,” Crystal’s manager, Michael Blakey, President of Organica Music Group, tells Life & Style. “The split was amicable and I’m happy to say that Crystal and Hef will remain close friends.”

And ironic that the son-of-a-psychologist-slash-family-counseling-TV-host would be a part of this Hollywood scandal relationship breakup!

Kelly Osbourne will be joining Dr. Phil’s talk show as a special contributor, starting Wednesday, March 24, and making additional appearances through the remainder of the season.

“Kelly is an excellent addition to our show because she’s experienced a lot of what many of our younger viewers may be going through,” Dr. Phil told Entertainment Tonight. “She has dealt with drug addiction as well as addictions within her family.

“She’s also fought the battle with obesity, and the public scrutiny that often accompanies it. She is well-armed and up to the task of being our special contributor.”

Kelly has been working hard to maintain a healthy lifestyle and promote a positive body image for young women. She rejects the Hollywood ideal of being stick thin, and is an activist for women leading healthy lives.

“I am excited to be a part of Dr. Phil as a contributor for the show,” Kelly said. “It offers a great opportunity for me to bring a youthful perspective and opinion on the issues that affect our selves, our families and society as a whole, and I’m very honored to be a part of it.”

“I really hope I can use my life experiences to do some good,” she added.

For Kelly’s first assignment, she will be taking part in a panel alongside Dr.Harold C. Urschel III, founder of the Urschel Recovery Science Institute, The Insider correspondent Chris Jacobs, and California Attorney General Jerry Brown in a discussion about prescription drug use in Hollywood, and its effects on today’s teens, according to Entertainment Tonight.

Nadya Suleman told TV host “Dr. Phil” McGraw on Tuesday that she fears the Kaiser Permanente Medical Center in California won’t release her eight newborn babies.

“What she is telling me is that unless and until she has a better living arrangement, that they are not likely to release the children to her,” McGraw tells The Los Angeles Times.

Suleman, 33, has taped two episodes of McGraw’s syndicated show, the first of which airs today. Part two airs Thursday (check your local listings).

Suleman, a single mother who already had six children before giving birth to octuplets Jan. 26, lives in southern California, with her mother in a three-bedroom house that is set to be auctioned off on March 5. She owes more than $23,000 in back payments, a source tells Usmagazine.com.

She has no job and is on food stamps and disability income for three of her six older children.

“If you don’t have plans in place you need to say so, so we can help….People need to know you get it,” Dr. Phil tells her at one point during their interview.

She replies, “I think I’ll fully get it when they are ready to come home.”

McGraw — who has interviewed Suleman and her mother Angela at length — said in a statement to Us that he believes Suleman “is very loving.”

But he added, “I see somebody that has such a Pollyanna disconnect with real-world realities, and what she’s getting ready to face, it’s like she’s on a Disney ride.”

Still, he urged, “We can’t turn our back on this woman without turning our back on these children.”

I don’t know how true this is, but a source is saying that Dr. “Opportunity” Phil McGraw is going to have Oprah Winfrey on his show as a special guest for the February 11th show. The show is special because it will mark McGraw’s 1,000th episode of “helping” people.

The self-help “guru” started his TV career with a weekly spot on Oprah.

Dr Phil McGraw – America’s favorite unlicensed syndicated clinical psychologist – made the good faith rounds on the morning news shows today, trying to defend himself over the unprofessional comments he made about his bedside visit with Britney Spears (and promote his 1,000th show).

First, he popped by Good Morning America and although he admitted he was no longer licensed to provide a real diagnosis or professional feedback, Dr. Phil (again) said “[Britney] needs to be in in-patient care.”

And — again — even though he’s talking like a professional, that doesn’t mean the best-selling self-help guru has to adhere to doctor-patient confidentiality. He was happy to share with the Diane Sawyer-watching world: “I hear now that Britney is seeing someone and is getting some help and I hope that’s true.”

During the well-rehearsed diatribe, which he repeated almost word-for-word minutes later on the Today show, Dr. Phil claimed that he “never reached out or initiated contact with the Spears family. Lynne reached out to me over a year ago.” When asked if he apologized to Lynne or anyone in the Spears camp, Phil said, “my wife talks to Lynne much more than I do.”

The not-doctor, who still maintains the deceptive “Dr.” prefix, said he made the public statement about his visit with Britney at Cedars-Sinai “because I wanted to stop speculation about what went on there. I didn’t say anything in the statement that I hadn’t said before.” He also claimed that at no point were they trying to stage an intervention.

Matt Lauer was smart to grill him on whether Phil McGraw, TV producer, saw publicity written all over the Spears’ invitation to speak with Britney. “It didn’t cross my mind,” he said during his second promotional tour publicizing the visit.

Dr. Phil McGraw is regretting his statement to Entertainment Tonight that Britney Spears was “dire need of both medical and psychological intervention.”

He is also saying that he visited Britney Spears as a family friend and not as a psychologist. Lynn Spears has hit out at the TV doctor saying that he wasn’t invited to make it a public issue.

Here’s what he had to say:

“Was it helpful to the situation? Regrettably, no, I definitely think if I had it to do over again, I probably wouldn’t make any statement at all. Period.”

The TV doc did, however, make it clear that he only regrets speaking out – not his attempts to help the increasingly erratic popstar. (McGraw originally planned to dedicate a show to Spears, but scrapped the idea, calling the situation “too intense.”)

So would he make the same visit again, knowing the controversy it’s caused? Yes, he said. “How could you not?”

Complaint alleges TV doctor is practicing clinical psychology without a license.

Dr. Phil McGrawA complaint has been filed against Dr. Phil with the California Board of Psychology.

The complaint reportedly accuses Dr. Phil McGraw of practicing without a license when he visited Britney Spears at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center after her meltdown earlier this month, according to TMZ.com.

Dr. Phil is also accused of violating the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act. The complaint alleges Dr. Phil practiced clinical psychology without a license and further violated doctor-patient privilege by discussing the pop star’s case with the media.

Dr. Phil has never been licensed to practice in California, and he is no longer licensed in his home state of Texas.

McGraw failed to complete the conditions imposed as disciplinary sanctions by the Texas State Board of Examiners of Psychologists in 1989.

At that time a former therapy client had filed a complaint against him, claiming their relationship was inappropriate.

McGraw later admitted giving her a job but denied touching her.

Soon after he was officially reprimanded, McGraw closed his private practice.
