George Michael has recruited burlesque dancer Dita Von Teese to star in his new music video.

Von Teese will team up with the former Wham! frontman for the promo for an as-yet-unannounced single, and the exotic dancer admits it is a dream come true.

She says, “George wants me in the video of his next single and I’m on my way to London to meet him, I can’t wait. I’m a huge Wham! fan and this will be the highlight of my career. I have been perfecting my routine and I’ve also been doing Pilates – my secret for keeping in shape.”

amfAR’s annual Cinema Against AIDS gala was held last night in Cannes. The celebrities were out in gorgeous gowns to support a good cause. This year’s gala featured a formal dinner and live auction run by Sharon Stone and Harvey Weinstein. Guests were also shown a clip from Madonna’s Malawai documentary about AIDS orphans, I Am Because We Are. Last year’s event raised a whopping $7 million. A table at this year’s benefit ran from $40,000 to $150,000, with all proceeds going to amfAR, which funds AIDS research.

Burlesque star Dita Von Teese always makes a big effort to stay out of the sun – because she is terrified of the ageing effects of its ultraviolet rays.

The famously pale star, 35, is determined to keep her youthful looks for as long as possible, even if it means covering up and avoiding all sun exposure.
She tells the New York Daily News, “I never go suntanning. My worst fear is looking down and seeing brown, wrinkly cleavage. It’ll get white and wrinkly, but no need to rush it.”

Dita Von Teese had a “long list” of reasons to split from Marilyn Manson, including the shock rockers drug-taking.

The pair’s year-long union ended in December 2006, when the burlesque star moved out of the marital home. Their relationship had deteriorated so much, when asked by The New York Times of the best thing about their divorce, she replies, “There’s a long list of things”.

Von Teese adds, “I am happy to have the drugs out of my life.” And she celebrated becoming a single girl in an extravagant fashion: “I took my engagement diamond and had it transformed at Christian Dior in Paris into a beautiful ring. It’s nice; it’s big. I feel like I suffered greatly for that diamond, and it needed to be reborn into something better. “One of my big extravagances when I moved out of my former husband’s house was a matching pink stove and refrigerator in ’50s style.”
