Oxygen announced it has ordered a pilot for Mr. & Mrs. Makeover, a new reality series that will feature Tori & Dean stars Tori Spelling and Dean McDermott giving couples complete makeovers in an effort to make their relationships more meaningful.
The network is billing the series as “part marriage counseling, part makeover” — as each couple featured will spend time with Spelling and McDermott in an effort to “use physical change both personally and in their surroundings to create a foundation to jumpstart their relationships.”
Mr. & Mrs. Makeover is being produced by World of Wonder — the same production company that produces Tori & Dean — with Spelling, McDermott and Wonder of Wonder co-founders Fenton Bailey and Randy Barbato serving as executive producers.
Mr. & Mrs. Makeover’s pilot pickup is part of a new multi-platform development deal Oxygen has signed with the former Beverly Hills 90210 actress and her husband.

The network has also ordered a second Tori & Dean: Home Sweet Hollywood’s second season — the fourth overall season of the couple’s Tori & Dean reality series — which will premiere Tuesday, May 26 at 10PM ET/PT.
In addition, Oxygen is also in the early stages of developing an original made-for-television movie starring Spelling and McDermott, who will also executive produce the romantic comedy.
The development deal also includes the production of original webisodes for Oxygen’s website based on “Mommywood” — Spelling’s new book that was published by Simon & Schuster and hit bookshelves earlier this month.
“Dean and I are thrilled to be extending our partnership with everyone at Oxygen who became like family when we embarked on this new television adventure,” said Spelling.
“Having the opportunity to reach our fans through this new series, special and especially our webisode venture, is very exciting and we look forward to working with their amazing team in the months ahead.”

Refreshed from a recent trip to the Four Season’s Puta Mita Resort in Mexico, Tori Spelling, accompanied by hubby Dean McDermott, opened up to OK! about her delicate relationship with estranged mother Candy Spelling in an exclusive interview.
“I definitely want to reconcile with my mother, but that’s the wrong word,” Tori confessed to OK!. “There’s nothing that really happened that made us fight. It’s just time, distance and media that have come between my mom and me.”
Speaking to OK! at the grand opening of A Hollywood Spectacle earlier this week, Tori explained, “I just think that as long as we both keep it private from here on out, reconciliation is imminent. It will totally happen and I hope that she wants that.”
Candy claimed to have e-mailed prior to missing Stella’s first birthday party, but Tori was almost brought to tears as she discussed how she holds out hope for her mom to come around for her own children.
“I am proud of my kids, but I also want to make my mom proud of me. I’m still a momma’s girl at the heart of the situation,” Tori dished to OK!. “I look forward to the relationship that Liam and Stella will have with their grandmother one day and I’m confident that it will happen.”
And if Candy calling her daughter a “middle-aged woman” was meant as a put-down, Tori doesn’t seem to be taking the comment too seriously. “When you’re in your twenties, you can still wear things like this and then I become a mother of two and wear these six-inch Fendi heels and I’m falling all over the place,” she joked to OK!.
All kidding aside, husband Dean spoke candidly about his own relationship with his now-deceased father and how he can relate to his wife’s heartbreaking situation.
“I know the hurt because I have gone through it,” Dean revealed. “I know what it’s like to hold out hope and for it to not pan out and to get your feelings hurt again and again. After a while, at the end of the day, you really have to protect yourself and see that it’s not healthy for us… Your family can cause you a lot of pain and heartache.”

Dean McDermott — known to take on anything from scuba diving to racing motorcycles on his and wife Tori Spelling’s Oxygen reality show Home Sweet Hollywood — is not one to turn down a challenge. But this time, his new goal might be a surprise.
“I’d love to be on Dancing with the Stars,” says McDermott, who is the Grand Marshall of the Los Angeles Ride for Autism this Saturday. “It looks like the scariest thing in the world.”
Why DWTS? “I’m a huge fan of the show and it looks like a lot of hard work,” says McDermott, who has been rumored to be a possible contestant on the show. “I tend to gravitate towards anything that’s a challenge.”
As for his dancing skills, McDermott admits to PEOPLE that he might be in for an uphill battle. “I have no dancing skills whatsoever except for the improv stripper moves which Tori thinks I’m pretty good at,” he says with a laugh. “I’m 6′ 3” with size 14 feet, so I’m like a giraffe. My dance partner would be stepped on constantly.”
Luckily, he already has one fan. “I’d be so psyched if he was on the show!” says Spelling. “I’d be in the front row every week. I think he’d be amazing.”
This weekend, Spelling will accompany her husband as he hits the road on a Suzuki Boulevard M109 cruiser bike at the Ride for Autism. “I’m thrilled,” says McDermott about being chosen as the Grand Marshall for this year’s event, which will feature a record-breaking 600 riders. “I was inspired by Jenny McCarthy, whom I did a movie with. After reading her book about her struggle when her son was diagnosed with autism, I felt I wanted to be involved and raise awareness.”
The couple has donated a custom Spyder women’s bike with their autographs to help raise this year’s goal of $200,000.
