David Hasselhoff responds to alcohol poisoning reports.

david_hasselhoff.jpg

David Hasselhoff is going on the record with THE INSIDER about reports that he was admitted to the hospital over the weekend for alcohol poisoning.

He told us today in Santa Barbara, “Yes, I had a few drinks. Yes I checked into the hospital. But it wasn’t for alcohol poisoning and no there’s no police report about a 3.9 [blood alcohol level], that’s completely made up. I don’t know where that came from… no police report.”

When we caught up with Hasselhoff today, he told us, “I’m fine. I’m doing great. But you know what? The attorneys will handle it.”

Hasselhoff is keeping a sense of humor about the situation, telling us: “[My girlfriend Kimberly] brought me an article this morning that’s pretty funny. It said something like: You know you’re an icon when the reports say that you checked into the hospital with alcohol poisoning, that you were intoxicated, that you checked into rehab, you died, came out of rehab and you’re having an affair with gerbils.”

The Hoff’s family home is on the market

David Hasselhoff

When it comes to the current real estate market, David Hasselhoff has the law on his side.

A Los Angeles judge, apparently falling on the side of expedience, has listed the actor’s 10,000-square-foot Encino manse for $5.95 million—more than the Hoff wanted as an asking price but far less than the nearly $8 million his ex-wife, Pamela Bach, was willing to try for.

Though he moved into a Bel-Air bachelor pad following their separation, Hasselhoff was allowed to move back into the family home with their two teenage daughters after being awarded sole custody last June, but he opted to allow Bach to remain in the house.

It was determined in April that the residence would be put on the market and that the America’s Got Talent judge would pay $2,500 per month in child support for then 17-year-old Taylor and $1,500 for 15-year-old Hayley until each turned 18 (which Taylor did in May).

Some of Hasselhoff and Bach’s more interesting decorative household items (the French maid statue, anyone?) were also divvied up at the time, as well.

In addition to settling the price dispute last week, L.A. Superior Court Judge Robert A. Schnider also dismissed Bach’s claim that her former hubby had misallocated $1 million in assets to keep her from getting her hands on it.

Mark Ronson rejected a collaboration with David Hasselhoff

Mark Ronson

Mark Ronson was shocked when David Hasselhoff complimented him on his musical talents and asked to work with him - but was forced to turn down the singer/actor because he was too busy.

The superproducer was left stunned when the former Baywatch star asked him to collaborate on a song when the two met at California’s recent Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

But Ronson, who has worked with stars including Lily Allen and Amy Winehouse, had no choice but to refuse Hasselhoff’s request.

He says, “He came up and was like, ‘Hey, I really love your stuff,’ and I was just taken aback. He stayed and watched our show and said that he’s got some new TV show and wanted me to produce a song with him. But I’m a bit busy right now!”

David Hasselhoff is buying a castle in Scotland?

David Hasselhoff

David Hasselhoff wants to buy a castle in Scotland - and name if after himself.

The actor and singer, 55, told Scottish comic and talk show host Craig Ferguson that he’s looking for a castle to debut his forthcoming album in - and wouldn’t mind snapping one up.

Hasselhoff says, “I’m doing an album of Broadway musicals and I’m going to premiere in a little castle I’m looking for in Scotland. As a matter of fact, I’m looking for the Hassel Castle. You’re from Scotland aren’t you? Can you help me find one? I know I can go there and buy one.”

David Hasselhoff: Knight Rider will flop without me

David Hasselhoff

David Hasselhoff has hit out at TV bosses for bringing back his hit show Knight Rider without him.

The actor insists the new incarnation is doomed to fail without his star name attached.

Bitter Hasselhoff, who played Michael Knight on TV from 1982 to 1986, says, “It’s going to miss the target a little bit… It’s like have Indiana Jones without Indiana Jones.”

Hasselhoff recently told WENN he’ll have nothing to do with the TV series because producers ignored his ideas for the project’s hit pilot and ousted him as a guest star.

Hasselhoff claims he came up with the idea of reviving the franchise and even presented TV bosses with a plot treatment for the show.

But when producers decided to take a different direction for the TV pilot, which aired in America earlier this year, and cut Hasselhoff out, the Baywatch creator decided he wanted nothing to do with the new Knight Rider.

He revealed, “They asked me to come in and do a cameo and promote it and I said I would. But it was not what I had in mind. I didn’t get a chance to see the show until the final product and it was clearly not what it could’ve been. It was someone else’s vision.”

David Hasselhoff is upset that he was driven out of Knight Rider

David Hasselhoff

David Hasselhoff insists he’ll have nothing to do with a planned Knight Rider TV series because producers ignored his ideas for the project’s hit pilot and ousted him as a guest star.

Hasselhoff, who was the original Knight Rider on TV in the 1980s, claims he came up with the idea of reviving the franchise and even presented TV bosses with a plot treatment for the show.

But when producers decided to take a different direction for the TV pilot, which aired in America earlier this year, and cut Hasselhoff out, the Baywatch creator decided he wanted nothing to do with the new Knight Rider.

He rants, “Basically, I brought the project into NBC. They read my treatment, which involved Michael Knight and his son, and they called me up and said ‘Hey, we’re going ahead.’ But it soon became clear that producers were going in a different direction: “They asked me to come in and do a cameo and promote it and I said I would. But it was not what I had in mind. “I didn’t get a chance to see the show until the final product and it was clearly not what it could’ve been. It was someone else’s vision. I clearly could’ve brought more of Michael Knight and the past into it. The bottom line was they missed a big audience because it was not retro and that was the whole point of it - being retro. I mean everybody grew up watching that show and they loved it. They missed the point of heart, humor and action. They didn’t have heart, humor and I don’t know how they didn’t have action.”

David Hasselhoff’s reality show hook-up

David Hasselhoff

David Hasselhoff is romancing a former contestant on his hit U.S. reality TV show America’s Got Talent, according to reports.

The 55-year-old actor fell for 29-year-old singer/harpist Corina Brouder after he saw her compete on the show in 2006 while finalizing a bitter divorce from his second wife.

A source tells the National Enquirer, “Corina (Brouder) was one of (Hasselhoff’s) personal favourites. He thought she had a lovely singing voice, and they developed a friendship.”

Brouder did not win the competition, but seems to have won the heart of the actor after the pair’s relationship turned romantic earlier this year after her performance at California’s Coachella Valley Music and Arts Festival.

The source adds, “They stayed at the same hotel and hit the festival two days in a row with her sister Cornelia. David looked like hell, with stitches from a wound over his left eye and a huge bruise on his arm, but he danced and embraced Corina.”
