British soccer star David Beckham surprised his Spice Girl wife Victoria on Valentine’s Day with a nude painting of screen siren Marilyn Monroe. The L.A. Galaxy player reportedly paid a five-figure sum for the artwork.
I don’t know if I’d say that was a good present for Valentine’s Day, would you?

While Victoria Beckham was checking out all the latest in fashion at New York Fashion Week, across the country plenty of women were checking out her husband, David Beckham, during Jermaine Dupri’s pre-Grammy party at Hollywood’s Club Central.
“Beckham rolled in at about 1 a.m.,” a fellow party-goer said. “He looked like he was having a great time hanging with Jermaine and talking to Janet [Jackson].”
While Beckham played it cool with the party’s hosts, it’s safe to say he was heating things up among the women at the party. In fact, when one young female fan approached the soccer star and got a quick kiss on the cheek, she literally went weak in the knees – and fainted!
Beckham’s reaction: “He looked like it was an ordinary everyday thing,” an observer said. “He just said ‘Get her some water. She’ll be ok.’”

After David Beckham went to Sierra Leone recently, the superstar couple is now hoping to adopt a little girl from the poverty stricken country.
The couple have long spoken of their wish to have a sister for their three sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
David, 32, spent four days in Sierra Leone in his role as a Goodwill Ambassador for United Nations’ children’s charity UNICEF two weeks ago.
During his heart-rendering trip, the LA Galaxy soccer star witnessed a birth and gave immunization drops to a newborn baby.
Upon his return to his luxury home in Los Angeles, David said: “I was close to tears. I had to step back and take a deep breath. I’m a very emotional person and I’m even more emotional now I’m a parent.”

Victoria Beckham is hoping to spice up a skin cancer awareness campaign by stripping off for her fashion designer friend, Marc Jacobs.
The Spice Girl poses naked for a new charity t-shirt in a bid to warn people of the dangers of excessive sun exposure.
She says, “Since we moved to California I have realized how important it is to practice safe sun for myself and to keep my three boys’ skin well protected as well.
“Skin cancer is a huge problem and I really wanted to help raise awareness by taking part in Marc’s initiative.”
Good for her! Any chance her hubby will be joining the same campaign???

David Beckham’s recent trip to West Africa made a deep impression on the soccer star.
He says on his blog Thursday, “I’ve just returned from visiting Sierra Leone in Africa as part of my role as UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. Though I saw many problems and issues to tackle, I was heartened by the incredible and selfless work UNICEF and other agencies are ground on the ground to help.”
He added: “I was also humbled by the people of Sierra Leone, who, despite the problems they face, keep smiling and are hopeful for the future. They made me feel extremely welcome in their country and I will never forget the experience.”
Beckham, 32, the father of three sons, described the plight of children in the impoverished country.
“One in four children die in Sierra Leone before they reach the age of five and many of the diseases that children suffer can be prevented,” he wrote. “I genuinely hope that by visiting the affected areas and spending time with some of the people there, it will draw the world’s attention towards the problems children face not only in Sierra Leone but similar situations across the world.”
