If I were the L.A Galaxy (who are paying this guy $1 Million dubloons a week to NOT DO HIS JOB) I’d be a little cranky after learning that instead of soccer-ing or footy-ing or whatever it is that he’s SUPPOSED to be doing, he’s going to…design the outfits for the Spice Girls reunion tour.
For real. I’m not even kidding.
Other than the obvious problem (he’s a soccer player not a fashion designer) what in the universe would prompt him to want to design wee velveteen knickers for over-the-hill British poptarts and their dubious ‘reunion’?
A source said: “David has been helping out a lot ahead of the Spice Girls tour, which starts in December and has offered to give them fashion advice.” and “He is drawing different strengths from various fashion designers, but obviously Victoria will have the final say.”
You don’t say! Victoria has the final say, you say? So this is really just a giant ‘make work’ project for him. That’s not at ALL emasculating.
I picture him somewhere, screaming out into the heavens upon realizing he married Gollum’s sister.

David and Victoria Beckham are planning to add a fourth child to their family next year. The Spice Girl is desperate for a daughter and sister to three sons Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz - and wants to time it so she can give birth after the band end their reunion tour in January 2008.
The baby will also be born in Los Angeles - where David is playing for soccer team LA Galaxy.
Victoria says, “We’d like to have another - maybe next year. He or she might be lucky enough to have dual nationality.”

No story to go with this one. I just thought it was a mighty fine looking picture of dreamy David.

Here is what David Beckham had to say about his goal he scored this week:
Hello everyone,
I know, another blog so soon, but after my game yesterday I couldn’t wait to let you know how I felt.
It was incredible to finally start the game against D.C. United but to actually score a goal in my first proper home match was more than I could have hoped for, and an intensely amazing moment for me. On top of that I was handed the captain’s armband for the start of the game and I felt very proud to have been given that honour so early on in my career here. I definitely hope there are a few more of those!
I felt fit, so that was very encouraging and I was pleased to play a good hour of the game, but especially pleased that we won and we’re in the final of the SuperLiga. The fans were superb all night and I thought we deserved to go through, even though D.C. gave us a few problems and are a very strong team.
I’m now looking forward to our next game against Red Bull New York and hope to play a part in that. Hopefully, we can build on last night’s fantastic result.
Speak to you soon
David

After much speculation about David Beckhams skills, and value he would bring to the LA Galaxy, he finally scores a goal. The Galaxy won 2-0 against the DC United.

I am happy for David, and it’s nice to see his whole family was there to witness the happy occasion.
Let’s just hope this streak continues!

“I’m here for five years and maybe more,” he said. “That’s where people may have to be slightly patient and not think that I’m just here for the glitz and the glamour. I’m here to play soccer. I’m not here to play anything else.”
“It needs to be right,” he said. “There’s no point in me coming back and playing in a game — when people are expecting me to play at a high level like I can and I do — and not performing.”
Good for him! I like that he’s aware of the negativity and has a respectful, un-arrogant response.
