Daniel Radcliffe has compared the latest Harry Potter installment to cult movie Trainspotting - insisting the new film contains “a fair amount of sexual energy and drug parallels”.

Radcliffe recently finished filming the sixth Potter movie - Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince, which is due for release in November.

And the star insists that there are moments in the picture which are very similar to scenes in Ewan McGregor’s controversial 1996 film.

He says, “There’s a fair amount of sexual energy and drug parallels. We have a couple of Trainspotting moments. That’s two films I never thought would be mentioned in the same breath.”

Daniel Radcliffe is determined to tone-up his body before appearing on Broadway’s Equus in the nude - and he’s not ashamed to admit it.

The Harry Potter star, 18, will disrobe in the Broadway adaptation of the Peter Shafer play later this year - just as he did onstage in London when the play opened there in 2007.

And Radcliffe made sure to stop by the gift lounge before Sunday’s 62nd Annual Tony Awards, where he shamelessly picked up a Scorcher Butt Machine - a piece of exercise equipment with “a special emphasis on butt shaping”.

He says of his new work out regime, “They don’t have things like this in England. We never get gifts.”

Daniel Radcliffe will attend the funeral of his murdered co-star Robert Knox.

The 18-year-old, who won the role of Marcus Belby in the forthcoming film Harry Potter And The Half-Blood Prince, died from multiple stab wounds following an altercation in Kent, England last month.

Knox’s family have revealed the movie’s stars will attend the funeral.

His uncle John Knox, says, “We’ve heard that the Harry Potter stars have asked to come to Rob’s funeral. It will be a fitting tribute to Rob. He looked up to them and told us how much he admired them all. It was his dream to be an actor and I have no doubt given the time and the training he would have made it.”

A man has been charged with Knox’s murder.

The object of Daniel Radcliffe’s affections has been found after the Harry Potter star confessed he’d fallen for a mystery girl at an Australian event last year.

The young Brit recently told the Sydney Daily Telegraph newspaper that he had been bewitched by a girl with the most amazing eyes at the 2007 AFI awards.

Radcliffe said, “She looked like she wanted to pounce on me. She stared at me the whole night and I was going to get her number and then I couldn’t find her.”

After a search for the mystery girl, Radcliffe gave up - but now his lady love has been found by the newspaper. She’s 20-year-old Sydney insurance worker Cassi MCKay, who admits to speaking briefly to the actor at the awards party.

She says, “We said hello and had a quick chat and for the rest of the night, just because I was fascinated, we were sort of smiling and making eye contact. I couldn’t believe when he said he was looking for the girl.” But any plans Radcliffe had of romancing the girl have been dashed - she has been in a serious relationship with her boyfriend for the past two years.

However, the pretty Aussie is open to the idea of meeting up with the movie star again: “I’ve told my boyfriend about him and I’d be keen to meet up.”

The 18-year-old was attending a Melbourne function when he spotted the girl in the crowd - but she disappeared before he could speak to her.

He says, “There was one girl, oh My God, her eyes just looked at me like she wanted to pounce on me. She was stunning. I went to get her number but I couldn’t find her.”

Everyone has been going, ‘Are you and Dan together?’ Because it doesn’t happen in the books, everyone is so desperate for it to happen in real life that any opportunity to come up with a story about it is taken.”

Kim Cattrall had to apologize to Daniel Radcliffe after accidentally going public with the Harry Potter star’s romance.

In an interview with TV Guide magazine, the actress revealed she’d given Radcliffe, her co-star in TV movie My Boy Jack, a boxed set of Sex & The City episodes as a gift, after learning the teenager was keen to revisit the show that left him “freaked out” the first time around.

But when she joked, “You’re waiting for your girlfriend to watch it with you, right?”

Radcliffe had to correct her, stating, “My friend! Yes.”
Horrified Cattrall offered, “Your friend. Sorry, sorry. sorry.”
Radcliffe confirmed the ‘friend’ both were talking about was his Equus co-star Laura O’Toole.
