Here it is! We’ve finally got our first look at Carrie Bradshaw before Mr. Big, before the clothes and the shoes.
The CW will debut ‘The Carrie Diaries’ in January. It stars AnnaSophia Robb in the role made famous by Sarah Jessica Parker. It will chronicle Carrie’s senior year of high school, which took place in New York in the 1980s.
Hope it’s good – the preview looks great – although I am disturbed by the “hot dog in a keyhole” comment.
The CW will not order a full second season of Life Unexpected, TVGuide.com has confirmed.
Although the network asked for two additional scripts last month, it has now opted not to pick up additional episodes beyond the initial 13-episode order. The drama, however, is not officially canceled.
Despite critical praise for the series, which follows the story of a young girl finding her real parents after living in foster care, Life Unexpected pulled in less than 1 million viewers in its last outing, sliding from 1.7 million viewers for its Season 2 premiere.
While it hasn’t been officially canceled, this is not a good sign. I couldn’t get through the first season, so I see why it’s struggling.
As Us Weekly previously reported, Heather Locklear is returning to Melrose Place, it was announced Tuesday.
Locklear, 47, will reprise her role as scheming ad vixen Amanda Woodward on the new CW version of the show. She will make her debut appearance Nov. 17.
“We’re ecstatic to have the chance to bring Amanda Woodward back to Melrose Place,” executive producers Todd Slavkin & Darren Swimmer said in a statement. “Heather’s involvement in the show is something we’ve been working on for some time as we couldn’t imagine creating and producing this show without the iconic character’s inclusion.”
An insider told Us Weekly that Locklear saw a pilot of the show — which stars Ashlee Simpson-Wentz — and “was surprised at how much she like it.”
The source said the role is a “a great comeback” for the actress, who faced a DUI charged that was later dismissed and sought treatment for anxiety last year. Said the source: “She is in great spirits and good shape. This is a perfect time to show everyone how well she is doing.
Details are mum on Locklear’s role. She was last seen with Peter (played by real-life love Jack Wagner — who’s not expected to return) faking her own death on the 1999 finale.
Original cast members Josie Bissett, Thomas Calabro, Laura Leighton and Daphne Zuniga have also signed back on for the show.
The CW attempted to kick off its new season Tuesday night but fumbled embarrassingly in the end zone.
The season premiere of 90210 drew just 2.56 million viewers vs. 4.65 million for last year’s debut of the sequel series. It performed even more poorly among the key 18-49 demo. 90210 was followed by the series premiere of Melrose Place, which failed to lift the struggling network out of last place. It drew just 2.27 million viewers.
Once again the evening was dominated by a two-hour (three, if one includes an 8:00 p.m. repeat) edition of NBC’s America’s Got Talent , which averaged 11.7 million viewers, peaking in the 9:30 p.m. half hour with 12.15 million.
All the CW stars came out for the CW Upfront event at Madison Square Garden, NYC on Thursday including Taylor Momsen, Ed Westwick, Leighton Meester, Shenae Grimes and ANTM winner Teyona.

Well, there you have it, The CW’s cast of the new “Melrose Place.”
Pictured (left to right): Stephanie Jacobsen as Lauren, Colin Egglesfield as Auggie, Ashlee Simpson as Violet, Shaun Sipos as David, Katie Cassidy as Ella, Michael Rady as Jonah, and Jessica Lucas as Riley.
First Sydney, now Dr. Michael Mancini: The CW’s new Melrose Place has yet another familiar face joining the cast.
Thomas Calabro will be reprising his role as Dr. Mancini, the good guy-turned-cheater, a source tells PEOPLE.
Calabro, who appeared every season in the original Melrose, will be the father to David Patterson, played by Shaun Sipos. No other details were revealed. It was previously reported that David would actually be the son of Jake Hansen (veteran Grant Show).
The Melrose Place reboot also stars Ashlee Simpson-Wentz, Katie Cassidy, Jessica Lucas, Stephanie Jabobsen, Michael Rady, Colin Egglesfield, and Shaun Sipos. Ryan Eggold, who plays teacher Ryan Matthews on 90210, will be a resident and making crossover appearances.
