Courtney Love caused the downfall of her husband Kurt Cobain’s band Nirvana, according to a new book detailing the late rocker’s life.
Former record executive Danny Goldberg writes in his forthcoming memoirs, Bumping Into Geniuses, that the Hole frontwoman led the doomed musician into a world of drugs and debauchery.
In the revealing tome, the author claims Love acted as Cobain’s “mouthpiece” and once demanded that Goldberg give them a huge amount of cash which they were allegedly planning to spend on a heroin binge.
He writes, “I felt pretty uncomfortable as I delivered the package of $100 bills to her at the hotel. Abruptly, the dark cloud of drug excess had entered the band’s life. I was confronted by the baroque facade of lies and the awful glassy-eyed deadness that regular heroin use provides.”
He adds, “Courtney’s very presence was a metaphor for the end of one era in the band’s life and the beginning of another.”
The pair married in 1992, having a daughter, Frances Bean, later the same year before Cobain committed suicide in 1994.
Bumping Into Geniuses is scheduled to hit shelves later this month.

Courtney Love has turned to TV hypnotist Paul McKenna to help her stay thin.
The former Hole frontwoman called upon the British therapist to keep her weight down after going on a crash diet last year.
She says, “I’ve known Paul for years. I lost weight last year the old-fashioned way by dieting and living off protein shakes. But it was hard to stay disciplined.
“He’s brilliant and is totally responsible for me staying so skinny. Whenever I start to feel my resolve weaken, I go to Paul for another hypnosis session.”

Courtney Love’s business managers are suing the wacky singer, claiming she screwed them to the tune of around a million bucks.
In a lawsuit filed today in L.A. County Superior Court, London & Co. claims it was entitled to 5% of the sale of a portion of the Nirvana publishing catalog, which sold for $19,500,000. So London was entitled to a cool $975,000 — at least according to the suit.
London claims Courtney hasn’t paid, thus the lawsuit. What nirvana!

Courtney Love has lambasted singer Ryan Adams for allegedly failing to pay back money he borrowed to fund his 2003 album Rock N Roll.
The former Hole frontwoman posted a bizarre rant on her MySpace.com page on Saturday, claiming Adams had taken $858,000 from her daughter Frances Bean’s trust fund to pay for his LP release.
She writes: “There were all the bills for Ryan Adams’ worst record and one of the worst records I can think of in rock and roll history ironically called Rock and Roll (sic) and it was paid for by ME and mostly by my child.
“Here on Amex 28 is the entire invoice for Ryan – your ENTIRE album and meals and drugs and hotels and outboard gear and wasted fabulous guitars STRAIGHT OUT OF FRANCES’ TRUST FUND.
“Ryan… YOU spent 858,000 dollars on this record of MY DAUGHTERS (sic) MONEY. So what’s your paying me back plan?”
The post has now been taken down from the social networking site.

Courtney Love has lavished praise on her close friend Gwyneth Paltrow – insisting the Hollywood actress always “takes good care” of her.
The former Hole frontwoman met Paltrow while the actress was filming her Oscar-winning role in 1999 movie Shakespeare In Love and the pair has been close pals ever since.
And Love insists that despite drifting apart over the last few years, Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin are now incredibly caring towards her.
She writes on her Myspace internet page, “It’s amazing Gwyneth Paltrow and her amazing husband Chris and I have reconnected. She has always been a very close friend of mine. Regardless of people’s perception of Gwyneth, compassion is her middle name. I love this girl, I love her husband, I love her kids. She takes damn good care of me. She calls me once a month to make sure I am doing OK.”

Courtney Love has publicly slammed Smashing Pumpkins frontman Bill Corgan over his alleged refusal to attend her daughter’s forthcoming birthday party.
Love unleashed a bitter tirade at the musician on a social forum website, accusing him of making her daughter Frances Bean cry after choosing not to attend her ‘Sweet 16′ celebrations next month.
Corgan reportedly grew close to the teen when he moved into Love’s Los Angeles home in 2006 in a bid to help relaunch her music career. But Love is adamant the rocker won’t have any more communications with Frances – the daughter of late Nirvana icon Kurt Cobain – and has branded Corgan’s behavior “unacceptable”.
She writes in the blog, “A sweet sixteen is a big event and I think she looked upon you as family. I know she did, as a trustworthy and wise (child), and you can’t lay your shit on a child of nine, and you as a man of 40 – my child sobbing, due to you, is unacceptable. I hate stating this on some random public forum, but the line is the kid, man.”
Love also claims My Chemical Romance will be playing at the party, with frontman Gerard Way even urging a bandmate to cancel his honeymoon so they can attend.
She adds, “”Gearrd Way (sic), who would do it in five seconds and has even asked and begged for his bandmate to cancel out on the honeymoon of his (coinciding with the sweet sixteen) so he can do it, made sure to promise to be there.”
