It looks as if a movie adaptation of the massively popular TV series Friends could soon be hitting cinema screens.
According to the Daily Mail, the cast feel compelled to reprise their roles after the recent success of the Sex and the City movie, despite David Schwimmer previously claiming he would rather not play Ross again.
Schwimmer will be joined by Matthew Perry, Matt LeBlanc, Jennifer Aniston, Courteney Cox and Lisa Kudrow to begin filming “within the next 18 months”, says an insider.
“Jennifer, Courteney and the rest of the cast are keen to reprise their roles, under the right circumstances,” said a source.
“The box office success of Sex And The City has really got their wheels spinning about how a Friends film could be just as big, if done right.”
However, it has also been suggested that Jennifer Aniston was initially not as keen as other cast members to return, but the source noted the “huge payday” may have changed her mind.

Courteney Cox is desperate to star in a movie version of ‘Friends‘.
The actress, who was left stunned after her most recent TV project ‘Dirt’ was cancelled, wants to revisit the hit US series which catapulted her to worldwide fame.
Courteney’s co-stars David Schwimmer, Matthew Perry, Lisa Kudrow and Matt LeBlanc are reportedly keen on the idea, but Courteney’s close pal Jennifer Aniston is worried a big screen adaptation would stereotype her as an actress.
A source is quoted by gossip website absolutenow.com as saying: “Courteney has already spoken to a lot of the old gang and most of them are eager to do it. Courteney has seen the success of the ‘Sex and the City’ movie and is sure a ‘Friends’ movie would be even bigger.
“Her biggest problem is getting Jennifer on board because she has so far refused to even contemplate going back to her role as Rachel Green. She’s concerned it will damage her chances of moving on with her career as a serious actress.”
‘Friends’ finished in 2004 after 10 seasons. Producers were initially keen to keep the franchise going, and developed a spin-off entitled ‘Joey’ starring Matt LeBlanc.
However, the programme - which focused on dim-witted actor Joey Tribbiani - was cancelled after just two series.

Jen Aniston and John Mayer went to their first public event together Thursday night.
They joined Courteney Cox and David Arquette — who celebrated their nine-year anniversary that night — at a humanitarian event at L.A. steakhouse STK.
A witness said that Aniston and Mayer “had their arms around each other. She was rubbing his back and whispering into his ear. They were touching each other non-stop all night.”
The bash was in honor of Jeffrey Sachs — who is known for his charity work with Angelina Jolie and is pals with Aniston’s ex Brad Pitt. (It was hosted by Mary Fanaro, founder of humanitarian organization OmniPeace, and sponsored by Kitson.)
Aniston and Mayer have been heating up ever since news broke of their relationship in April.
Mayer recently joined Aniston at one of Cox’s weekly BBQs at her Malibu home.
Of his romance with Aniston, 39, Mayer, 30, has said, “This is not a scandal, this is not an issue, this is not a problem, this needs no spin control. This is me living my life.”
She also recently brought Mayer to a Marley & Me cast party in Miami, where they held hands and kissed.

Courteney Cox hates the paparazzi taking pictures of her daughter Coco, because they terrify the tot.
The former Friends star tries keep the three-year-old with husband David Arquette away from the press, but hoards of photographers constantly hound the star and her family, much to Coco’s confusion.
She says, “I try to shield her from all the photographers because she gets scared. I don’t want her to be photographed - she’s not in this business and she’s not in the public eye. She says, ‘Mommy why are they taking my picture?’”
