Turns out Corey Haim had a bad heart and pneumonia when he died.  His death was not caused by death, coronors have ruled that Corey died of natural causes!

Actor Corey Haim died from pneumonia complicated by an enlarged heart, bad lungs and narrowed blood vessels, while drugs found in his system played no role in his death, the Los Angeles County coroner said Tuesday.

Haim, 38, died from “community-acquired pneumonia” along with lung, heart and blood vessel problems, according to the autopsy report.

Low levels of eight drugs, including both prescription and over-the counter medications, were found in his system along with marijuana, coroner’s spokesman Craig Harvey said.

California attorney general claims Corey Haim obtained more than 550 prescription pills illegally in the months leading up to his death.

Jerry Brown says Haim obtained the meds, which included Valium and Soma, through seven different doctors. Brown says investigators have talked to the doctors and they appear to have been duped.

Haim died March 10 after collapsing in his mother’s apartment. The star of 1980s films such as “The Lost Boys” and “License to Drive,” Haim struggled with drugs throughout his life. Haim was also suffering from flulike symptoms before his death.

Few knew Corey better than his Blown Away co-star and Baywatch heroine Nicole Eggert. She befriended and dated Corey — he even asked her to marry him — while both were just teenagers. “Corey was always open about having a drug-abuse problem. He didn’t lie about it or hide it. But he didn’t want to die. It became hard over the years staying close to a friend who was in a place like that,” Nicole tells Life & Style. “You sort of have to distance yourself. It’s tough love — but you can’t be an enabler. Enablers don’t help. When Corey was a minor, I’ll tell you, I saw quite a few doctors and adults enable him. But there was always a deep friendship and a deep love between Corey and myself. I just want him to be happy and at peace. I think his body just shut down, it gave up. Finally. If this is what it takes, then may he be in peace and not struggle anymore.”

In the days after his death, it was reported that Corey may have received the medication from an illegal underground drug ring. Yet despite signs that Corey may have overdosed, friends say he was doing his best to defeat addiction once and for all during his final days. “He was motivated, he was working out, he was sticking to his program,” Mark Heaslip, Corey’s agent at the time of his death, says. Corey was also battling isolation, according to Liana Mendoza, his co-star in the recently shot movie Decisions. “He came to the set on days he wasn’t even shooting,” Mendoza tells Life & Style. “He seemed lonely. I regret not befriending him.”

“He had a spirit that was beautiful, and he had a lot of love to share with his friends,” two of Corey’s Lost Boys co-stars, Brooke McCarter and Billy Wirth, told Life & Style in a statement. “Corey had an amazing heart. It’s a really sad day.”

Corey Feldman says he won’t be attending longtime pal Corey Haim’s funeral, which is set for Tuesday in Toronto.

“In the days following my best friend Corey Haim’s death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me,” he says in a statement. “I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey’s funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey’s funeral on Tuesday a small private affair.”

“Understanding the recent media attention and to be respectful of the family’s wishes, I have decided not to attend.

“Instead, I will remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning and planning his memorial,” Feldman, 38, goes on. “As a sign of respect, I am asking the media to honor Corey Haim by making the same choice. I am working with a few people who were close to Corey to put a memorial together within the next month. At that time, the media will be invited to honor and celebrate the legacy he has left behind, along with friends, fans and the rest of the Hollywood community.”

Haim died March 10 at age 38.

Haim’s mother says she was told by the coroner that her son suffered from pulmonary congestion.

But police have said Haim died of a possible overdose.

California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. told UsMagazine.com Friday that Haim’s death has been linked to an “illegal and massive prescription-drug ring.”

The official cause of Haim’s death is pending toxicology tests.

Former “Baywatch” star Nicole Eggert dated Corey Haim back in the day — and last night, she said the only “good message” people should take from his death is “say no” when it comes to drugs.

Eggert, who says she spoke with Haim’s mother yesterday, echoed Corey Feldman’s words from “Larry King” — saying “don’t assume” it was an overdose.

As we previously reported, Haim had pulmonary congestion, an enlarged heart and water in his lungs — but the Coroner has not determined that any of those conditions caused Haim’s death.

As Corey Haim’s family begins making preparations for his funeral and burial in his native Toronto, Ontario, an actress who worked with the late actor on his very last film says that she and her castmates saw signs of trouble.

“I knew something was up,” Liana Mendoza claims to E! of Haim’s behavior on the set of the indie film Decisions.

“Other castmembers were talking about it…People would say, ‘Whoa, he is cracked out right now.”

Although she never saw Haim consume drugs or alcohol, Mendoza worried about Haim’s hyperactive demeanor. “It was all love and hugs and kisses…he just talking all the time.”

The actress added that Haim would show up on the film set on his days off. “I just thought he might not want to be alone or something. It seemed like he needed a lot of love.”

Haim died at age 38 in an L.A. hospital early Wednesday morning; preliminary autopsy results confirm symptoms of pulmonary congestion, enlarged heart and water in the lungs. Cause of death will be deferred pending toxicology and histopathology tests, which should take six to eight weeks.

Corey Haim had pulmonary congestion, an enlarged heart and water in his lungs, according to the L.A. County Coroner’s Office, but the Coroner has not determined that any of those conditions caused Haim’s death.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ someone from the Coroner’s office called Corey’s mom, Judy Haim, today and told her they found these condition during the autopsy but that they could not say if the maladies caused Corey’s death.

TMZ’s sources say the Coroner will not determine a cause of death until the toxicology report is in.

TMZ has also learned the four pill bottles found in the apartment where Corey Haim collapsed yesterday included the generic versions of Vicodin and Valium … and the same doctor prescribed all 4 powerful meds just days before Haim died.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ the pill bottles retrieved in the apartment of Haim’s mother are hydrocodone (Vicodin), diazepam (Valium), haloperidol (an antipsychotic med) and Soma (a muscle relaxer).

TMZ said all four meds were prescribed by a prominent Los Angeles psychiatrist.

The L.A. County Coroner’s Office would not comment on the specific meds found, nor would officials say how many pills — if any — were missing from the bottles.

Law enforcement sources tell TMZ they believe Haim died from an accidental overdose of meds, though nothing is final until the Coroner’s toxicology reports are in.

There have been reports Haim admitted in the past to taking as many as 85 Valium pills a day.

Haim collapsed in his mother’s apartment early yesterday and was pronounced dead 2 1/2 hours later.
