Corey Feldman says he won’t be attending longtime pal Corey Haim’s funeral, which is set for Tuesday in Toronto.
“In the days following my best friend Corey Haim’s death, I have spent much time with his mother Judy, who has always been like a mother to me,” he says in a statement. “I would love nothing more than to be by her side at Corey’s funeral, however, due to their strong religious beliefs and need for privacy, the family has decided to make Corey’s funeral on Tuesday a small private affair.”
“Understanding the recent media attention and to be respectful of the family’s wishes, I have decided not to attend.
“Instead, I will remain in Los Angeles quietly mourning and planning his memorial,” Feldman, 38, goes on. “As a sign of respect, I am asking the media to honor Corey Haim by making the same choice. I am working with a few people who were close to Corey to put a memorial together within the next month. At that time, the media will be invited to honor and celebrate the legacy he has left behind, along with friends, fans and the rest of the Hollywood community.”
Haim died March 10 at age 38.
Haim’s mother says she was told by the coroner that her son suffered from pulmonary congestion.
But police have said Haim died of a possible overdose.
California Attorney General Edmund G. Brown Jr. told UsMagazine.com Friday that Haim’s death has been linked to an “illegal and massive prescription-drug ring.”
The official cause of Haim’s death is pending toxicology tests.

Corey Feldman — who starred in eight movies with the late Corey Haim — is mourning the death of his longtime friend, who died Wednesday at age 38.

In a statement on his blog, Feldman, 38, writes:
“I was awakened at 8:30 this morning by my brother and sister knocking on my bedroom door. They informed me of the loss of my brother Corey Haim. My eyes weren’t even open all the way when the tears started streaming down my face. I am so sorry for Corey, his mother Judy, his family, my family, all of our fans, and of course my son who I will have to find a way to explain this to when he gets home from school. This is a tragic loss of a wonderful, beautiful, tormented soul, who will always be my brother, family, and best friend. We must all take this as a lesson in how we treat the people we share this world with while they are still here to make a difference. Please respect our families as we struggle and grieve through this difficult time. I hope the art Corey has left behind will be remembered as the passion of that for which he truly lived.”
In 2007, Feldman appeared with Haim in the A&E reality show The Two Coreys, but it was canceled in 2008 after two seasons. The same year, Feldman said he was no longer speaking to Haim until he got sober.

Corey Feldman showed up at Michael Jackson’s public memorial Tuesday at L.A.’s Staples Center dressed as the King of Pop.
He arrived at 10:19 a.m. dressed as the singer from his Dangerous era – wearing all black, a military-style jacket, a black fedora and sunglasses. He also had strands of his hair hanging in front of his face – a ‘do Jackson famously sported.
Feldman used a Kleenex to wipe tears from under his sunglasses.
John Mayer gave him a puzzled look.

(All the Jackson brothers, who served as pallbearers, also wore sparkly silver gloves.)
Feldman befriended Jackson in the 1980s. The two had a rocky relationship during Feldman’s teen years and eventually drifted apart. They didn’t talk for several years before Jackson’s death.
After Jackson’s June 25 death Feldman wrote on his website: “I am trembling and shaking at the moment and it is very hard to type. I am filled with tremendous sadness and remorse. All I choose to remember from this point is the good times we shared and what an inspiration he was to me and the rest of the world. Nobody will ever be able to do what Michael Jackson has done in this industry, and he was so close to doing it all again. I am truly, and deeply sorry for all of the heartbroken fans and supporters worldwide. I think I am still in shock. So I must end this now.”

A new PETA poster prompted former child star Corey Feldman to call on his wife’s cosmetic surgeon and ask him to perform liposuction.
The Lost Boys star felt he looked chubby in the new ‘Give Peas A Chance’ ad to promote vegetarianism, and decided to tone his tummy through surgery.
So he called on Dr. Jeff Hoffman, who enhanced his wife Susie’s breasts, to work on him.
Feldman appears in an unbuttoned shirt next to his naked wife in the new People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals ad, which recreates John Lennon and Yoko Ono’s famous Give Peace a Chance bed-in.
He says, “They were going, ‘More skin, more skin, give us more skin.”
Feldman’s cosmetic surgery will feature on an episode of his reality show The Two Coreys, which co-stars fellow former child star Corey Haim. If the show lasts that long.

Corey Feldman has dismissed long-running rumors about a sequel to The Goonies, insisting studio bosses will never let it happen.
A follow-up to the kids adventure has been discussed ever since the original film became a smash hit when it was released in 1985.
Filmmakers Steven Spielberg and Richard Donner are reportedly keen to reunite the cast, which included Feldman, Josh Brolin, Sean Astin and Martha Plimpton.
But Feldman, who has reprised his role for a sequel to another 1980s hit, The Lost Boys, insists Goonies 2 is too much of a gamble for studio Warner Bros.
The actor tells Moviefone, “Well, The Goonies is one of those mythical sequels that will never happen. I mean, it’s something that Donner and Spielberg were behind for years and years, and again it’s a Warner Bros. issue; they just feel they don’t want to take the gamble on making the sequel.”

A&E is broadcasting the final season of its reality hit The Two Coreys. The network has decided to pull the plug on the series, starring washed-up 80s-era child stars Corey Haim and Corey Feldman, after Haim suffered a substance abuse relapse during taping for the show’s second season. Corey H. spent most of Season Two battling a Valium addiction and Feldman simply isn’t going to take it anymore.
“He’s done, and I’m through with him for good,” Feldman says of his former pal.
Feldman’s manager and Two Coreys co-producer Scott Carlson has confirmed that the series’ second season will be its last:
“Right now, there will not be a third season of ‘The Two Coreys.’ Things can’t continue the way they did toward the end of the second season.”
The breaking point for the network came after a frustrated Haim suffered an emotional breakdown and drug relapse while filming Lost Boys 2: The Tribe with Feldman.
