Colin Farrell is planning on spending the holidays with his 4 year old son, James! James has a rare neuto-genetic disorder and Colin is saying that he is making progress!!!!

The actor, 31, said at a New York screening of his film Cassandra’s Dream that James’s progress is “good” and stressed that the Angelman is a condition, “not a disease.”

With the holidays coming up, Farrell says he’s looking forward to some bonding time with James. “Yeah, absolutely,” he said. “All the family will be together. What are we going to do? Nothing. The usual – watch movies, eat food … take it easy.”

Farrell shares custody of James with ex-girlfriend Kim Bordenave, the boy’s mother.

In revealing his son’s struggle back in October, Farrell said James shows “amazing courage,” and added: “[I’m] incredibly blessed to have him in my life.”

To be honest, I wasn’t  a hug Colin fan, but after reading this interview, he has won me over.

People is reporting that Colin Farrell has revealed that his 4-year-old son James suffers from a rare neuro-genetic disorder called Angelman Syndrome – but that he’s a brave and happy child.

“The only time I’m reminded that there is something different about him – that he has some deviation of what is perceived to be normal – is when I see him with other 4-year-olds. Then I go, ‘Oh yeah,’ and it comes back to me,” Farrell tells the Irish Independent. “But from day one I felt that he’s the way he’s meant to be.” and adds that his son is very courageous and “[I’m] incredibly blessed to have him in my life.”

“He took his first steps about six weeks ago, and it was four years in the making,” Farrell says. “It was incredibly emotional. There wasn’t a dry eye in the house.”

Colin Farrell  opened his heart and revealed that his four-year-old son James is a special-needs child.

The renowned Irish actor revealed that his treasured son was born with a rare form of cerebral palsy called Angelman Syndrome.

In a moving interview, the actor described how the condition has affected his sons speech and mobility.

But despite the heartbreak the syndrome has caused he said that he is “incredibly blessed to have him in my life” and told of his joy when James recently took his first steps.

He said that his son had shown “amazing courage” in the first four years of his life and that he is an “incredibly happy boy” despite his condition.

Ironically Colin – who has joint custody of James with his mother Kim Bordenave – proudly led the Irish team to Croke Park for the Special Olympics before his son was born.

Colin – who has starred in such movies as Miami Vice and Phone Booth – said that James has “enriched” his life “incredibly.”

And he said that he is dedicated to helping his son reach his own “individual potential” and to be “as happy as he can be.”

The actor spoke with pride about the barriers his son has overcome in the first four years of his life – and paid tribute to his exgirlfriend Kim for being proactive in getting James the early intervention he needs.

Some homeless guy in Toronto sure was lucky this past week. The homeless man, only known as David, was living on the streets near where Colin was living while filming the movie The Recruit and the two became friendly towards each other back in 2003. First, he helped out poor David then by attending a local radio promo that advertised if you could bring in Wild Man Colin, you would win $1,000.00. Well Mr. Farrell decided to take the homeless man into the station, therefore, giving David the quick cash.

Flash forward to this past week where Colin met up with David again, who is still living on the streets. David told Colin that his sleeping bag had been stolen. Colin quickly fixed that situation by taking David to a local camping store where he stocked David up with camping gear, pants, socks, shoes, hats, boots, and a new sleeping bag. Before dropping David off for a burger, Colin provided him with some much needed cash. Colin is apparently really surprised by the attention he’s getting for doing this…

His friend tells UsWeekly: “He doesn’t do it for publicity. When he does premieres in Ireland it always goes to charity. He’s always doing things like that but he never talks about it. People dwell on the bad boy, but he’s a nice, normal person and financially in a position to help people.”
