“Cinema Blend” has boiled down the list of possibilities for Doctor Strange to three choices:

This is what Scott Derrickson has to contend with at this point, with the role of Doctor Strange still vacant, but down to three big choices: Colin Farrell, Benedict Cumberbatch and Keanu Reeves.

Who do you think should take the role of Doctor Strange? I’m rooting for Benedict Cumberbatch just because we all know he could really pull it off — but either of the three would do well in the role. What do you think?

Colin Farrell to Star in Season 2 of ‘True Detective?’

Colin Farrell Gets His Workout In

Any fans of HBO’s creepy anthology series True Detective?  Season 1 was a big hit for the network, starring Matthew McConaughey and Woody Harrelson, and earned several Emmy nominations, including best actor for both McConaughey and Harrelson.  There has been a great deal of speculation on the cast for Season 2, and now we might have a bit of a clue.  Variety reports that Winter’s Tale star Colin Farrell is in negotiations to star:

HBO execs hinted that the full cast would be announced soon at Thursday’s TCA presentation.

““I think the people we will cast will be well-known names,” president Michael Lombardo said. “But that wasn’t our ambition (in season 1).”

It’s unknown whether Farrell will be joined by a female co-star, as rumored, but creator Nic Pizzolatto has confirmed that the new season will be set in California and feature at least three lead roles.

“It takes place in California — not Los Angeles, but some of the much lesser known venues of California — and we’re going to try to capture a certain psychosphere ambiance of the place, much like we did in season 1.”

The acting was so amazing in Season 1- but the story gave me the heeby-jeebies.  I haven’t been able to look at a pile of sticks without getting the creeps since the show ended.  I think Farrell could be an interesting lead for the next season.  I wonder who will costar with him?

Colin Farrell on being an alcoholic, “I hadn’t uttered a word sober in about 15 years.”

"New York Winter's Tale" - UK Premiere

These are new photos from the London premiere of ‘A Winter’s Tale.’ You know, that movie that looks like crap with Colin Farrell and Russell Crowe. The one interesting part about this movie is it stars Jessica Brown Findlay, who I know and love from ‘Downton Abbey.’ She looks absolutely gorgeous in this Christian Dior dress.

Anyway, Colin has been promoting the new hot mess of a movie (even Huffington Post is calling it awful), and he sat down with ELLE Magazine for a very candid interview. He talks about his alcoholism, his sex tape (did you know he had one?) and what it was like for him to have sober sex, “was one of the most terrifying moments of my life.”

ELLE: If I asked all the women you’ve ever dated to agree on something about you, what would they say?
CF: That the exit is a lot more turbulent than the arrival, unfortunately. Building is always a gentler process than tearing down, it seems.

‘Winter’s Tale’ is a romantic epic. What movie do you find romantic?
The Bridges of Madison County is a fairly moving film: the idea of choosing history over fate, the life that could be lived. Part of her wants to go. And yet you understand she’s married to a good man and she has a family that she adores. There’s no right answer.

What’s the most over-the-top thing you’ve ever done for a woman?
This isn’t a hard-and-fast rule, but sometimes the more money spent, the more it diminishes the true essence of romance.

Okay, then. What’s the smallest, most intimate gesture?
I’m just trying to weed out the gold-diggers. [Laughs] I once spent a night with somebody in a ruin of a building in a very faraway land. There was no heat. It was dilapidated—about as unromantic as you could imagine. But we lit a fire and had sleeping bags and wine and a shitty old portable DVD player. The battery died halfway through It’s a Wonderful Life. That didn’t really matter. It wasn’t about getting to the end.

It gets better… continue reading after the jump! (more…)
