Colin Farrell sparks wedding rumors

Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell has sparked rumors he has secretly married his girlfriend Muireann McDonnell - after he was spotted wearing a ring on his wedding finger.

The Phone Booth star has been dating the Irish student for a year and has now fuelled speculation that he has made the relationship official after he was recently photographed at Los Angeles’ LAX Airport sporting a wedding band.

A source tells British newspaper Metro, “He didn’t seem to be hiding the ring. Maybe he has finally found the girl he wants to settle down with.’”

Farrell was previously married to English actress Amelia Warner in 2001. The marriage last just four months. The 31-year-old star also has a four-year-old son, James, with ex-girlfriend Kim Bordenave.

Colin Farrell calls his weight loss very healthy

Colin Farrell

Why is Colin Farrell looking so thin? At a recent press conference in Spain, the usually fit actor stunned reporters with his appearance – not to mention what he said.

“I lost weight because my role demanded it,” Farrell told reporters simply of his upcoming film, Triage. “It was all very healthy.”

The actor also referred to the Scott Anderson novel on which Triage is based, reading the sentences that inspired his dramatic weight loss: “He went to the bathroom to shave. Once his beard was gone he saw that his face had become drawn. He pressed at the hollows beneath his eyes, the pronounced nubs of his cheekbones.”

“Amen,” director Danis Tanovic followed, breaking the tension. Everyone – including Farrell – laughed.

Farrell spent five weeks in Alicante, Spain, filming Triage, in which he plays a war reporter in Bosnia in the early 1990s.

The actor also spoke of his great respect for war reporters “spending time in war zones to tell stories that capture the imagination – as well as for their wives and girlfriends.”

What is happening to Colin Farrel?

fp_1218307_enf_ferrel_colin_10_041908.jpg

Is it just me, or losing a ton of weight!?

A very scruffy Colin Farrel was spotted out and about in Alicante, Spain yesterday. The Irish actor is there filming the movie “Triage” which co-stars Spainish actress Paz Vega and Christopher Lee. He was seen downtown having lunch with friends at a Burger King then alone at a diner chatting on his cell phone, sipping coffee, and smoking a cigarette.

Colin Farrell doesn’t like his character’s use of the word retarded in his new movie

Colin Farrell

Colin Farrell is apprehensive about a line in his new movie In Bruges, because his character improperly uses the word “retarded”.

The 31-year-old’s own son James, four, has been diagnosed with the neurogenetic disorder Angelman syndrome, a disability which affects his motor skills. And Farrell insists his son’s condition has made him sensitive to those with special needs, leaving him uneasy about his character’s line that only “retarded” people could enjoy a holiday in Bruges, Belgium.

He explains, “I’m involved with the Special Olympics, so I would never use that word in my life. It’s a word that creates denigration and is incredibly harmful. But… my character doesn’t say it with any kind of malice or intent or bigotry. He’s just very naive and the world isn’t as well explained to him as it is to some of us.”
