PICS: 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards!

There were so many beautiful women at last night’s 64th Annual Primetime Emmy Awards. ‘Mad Men’ and ‘American Horror Story’ led the race with 17 nominations each, but it was the casts of ‘Modern Family’, ‘Homeland’, and ‘Game Change’ that came away the big winners.

Here’s more on the awards ceremony from People:

Eric Stonestreet took home the first award of the night for outstanding supporting actor in a comedy, setting the tone for the rest of the evening. In a repeat of last year’s early Emmys sweep for the series, Julie Bowen took home the best supporting actress award, marking her second consecutive win in the category, followed by the show’s co-creator Steve Levitan winning the Emmy for outstanding comedy direction. The cast closed out the evening the same way it began, with another win, this time for outstanding comedy series.

Newcomer Homeland had an incredible night following the show’s debut season. The Showtime series’ star Damian Lewis won the Emmy for the lead actor in a drama series – while his pregnant costar Claire Danes scooped up the best actress award. Homeland also took home the Emmys for outstanding writing and outstanding drama series.

After playing Sarah Palin in HBO’s Game Change, Julianne Moore won her first Primetime Emmy for lead actress in a miniseries or movie. “I feel so validated because Sarah Palin gave me a big thumbs down,” she said as she accepted her award. The political film – which won four awards total – also took home honors for outstanding writing, outstanding directing and outstanding miniseries or movie.

Two and Half Men‘s Jon Cryer won the Emmy for outstanding lead actor in a comedy. “Don’t panic people, something has clearly gone terribly wrong. I am stunned, I didn’t actually win this – this did not just happen!” Cryer said, addressing his fellow nominees Don Cheadle, Louis C.K., Jim Parsons, Larry David and Alec Baldwin. Meanwhile, Julia Louis-Dreyfus took home the Emmy for outstanding lead actress in a comedy.

Breaking Bad‘s Aaron Paul was stunned as he accepted his Emmy for outstanding supporting actor in a drama series. “I cannot believe I’m standing on this stage, let alone in this room,” he said. But before stepping down from the stage, the actor thanked his fiancée Lauren Parsekian. “You saved me,” he said.

Downton Abbey‘s Maggie Smith won the Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a drama series, beating out Archie Panjabi, Anna Gunn, Joanne Froggatt, Christina Hendricks and Christine Baranksi, but wasn’t present to accept.

While accepting the Emmy for outstanding variety series, Jon Stewart earned first-to-get-bleeped honors after winning his 10th consecutive Emmy for The Daily Show With Jon Stewart.

And Jessica Lange stunned in red as she accepted the Emmy for outstanding supporting actress in a miniseries or movie for her role as Constance Langdon in American Horror Story, while Kevin Costner took home the Emmy for outstanding lead actor in the same category for his role in Hatfields and McCoys.

I’ll be posting pictures from the red carpet, and here are the people I’ll be posting pictures of. Who was your best dressed from last night?

Claire Danes: “It’s getting to the point where I’m looking a little knocked up!”

Claire Danes can’t hide her pregnancy any longer! “It’s getting to the point where I’m looking a little knocked up,” the actress joked on LIVE! With Kelly and Michael September 4. Danes said her belly is beginning to look like a “soccer ball”.

The actress, 33, and her husband, actor Hugh Dancy, 37, announced they were pregnant on July 4th. Since then, Danes has been filming the second season of her huge hit ‘Homeland’ for Showtime.

For now, at least, cameramen have been able to hide Danes’ pregnancy curves. “I’ve been pretty fortunate thus far — we’re in the middle of filming our second season and luckily we’ve been able to conceal it,” Danes revealed. “They haven’t written it in, but they’ll be able to manipulate it in post and do some CGI trickery and make [my character] Carrie not so pregnant.”

Danes and Dancy, who tied the knot in 2009, are keeping their child’s gender a secret for now. “It is a human being, which is a profound relief,” the actress teased.

As they prep for the arrival of their firstborn, Danes has another big event to look forward to: The Primetime Emmy Awards, airing live September 23. Homeland received nine nominations, with Danes snagging a nod in Outstanding Lead Actress in a Drama Series category.

I love her! I can’t wait for Homeland to come back, that show is amazing! Here are some new pictures of the absolutely gorgeous Claire Danes arriving at the Late Show with David Letterman last night.

The ‘Homeland’ actress met her husband while starring together in 2009’s ‘Evening’.

Claire’s rep confirmed the news to People.

The actress first became famous as a teenager on the television drama “My So Called Life,” where she won a Golden Globe Award and was nominated for an Emmy. The show was canceled after its first season but developed a cult following.

Dancy will star in the upcoming NBC series “Hannibal,” adapted from the novel “Red Dragon” by Thomas Harris.
