Christina Ricci is taking a break from acting, designs makeup bags in the meantime!

When I saw these pictures of Christina Ricci, I realized I haven’t seen her in anything in quite a while! So what has the actress been up to? According to USA Today, the actress is taking a break from the big screen, and focusing on some smaller projects….like designing makeup bags for Make Up Forever!

Nearly every celebrity has a fragrance, or dreams of one. It’s a nice revenue stream, and a even nicer boost to an already high profile.

And here’s the latest trend in beauty partnerships: one-off, limited-edition items designed by a famous face. Actress Christina Ricci has developed just such a cosmetics bag with Make Up For Ever, made of fake black leather with studs and metallic silk screening.

The tote will debut as part of the company’s nine-city Remix tour, which will teach folks how to apply the potions and powders they already own.

“I’ve been a huge fan of the brand for a long time, back when I was 17. I’ve been wearing it for a really long time. They approached me and I thought it was an incredible idea to go on the road and teach women how to use products they currently have,” says Ricci.

She lives in New York City, so her space limited and therefore, she can’t go too product-crazy. “At this point, I’ve managed to streamline. I have two big bags and and I put stuff into travel bags,” she says. “If my bathroom was big enough, I’d have enough to fill a store. I’ve always been really into it.”

So how much of a pro is she at doing her own face? “I can get to a certain point with my own makeup and then I have to sit down and let the professionals do the rest and fix my mistakes. I’ve been interested in this since I was a little girl. I’ve been fascinated with makeup and makeup products. I can do makeup but if you want me to do anything with my hair, it’s a wreck. Everyone has their thing,” she says.

Workwise, Ricci says she is “taking a break right now and looking for something great. it’s hard to be too specific because you want to be as open as possible. You never know what the next great thing is going to be.”

What was the name of that horrible TV show she was on about airplane stewardesses? It was soooooooooo bad. I really tried to like it. Poor network TV, it just sucks these days.

Carey Mulligan, January Jones, Elizabeth Banks and more at the Met Gala!

Carey Mulligan was one of the Met Gala’s hosts last night, and her dress certainly has people talking! The shimmering (almost fish-scale-looking) dress stole the show. She showed up to the event with her husband of about two weeks, Mumford & Sons lead singer Marcus Mumford. Carey’s dress is by Prada.

January Jones showed up in a bright yellow Versace dress. Christina Ricci wore an interesting Thakoon gown. Lily Collins appeared at the Met for the first time in a Collette Dinnigan dress. Dianna Agron was the guest of Carolina Herrera. Karolina Kurkova wore an outfit by Rachel Zoe. Rachel Zoe herself looked scary-skinny, as always.

Rooney Mara wore a black see-through dress by Givenchy. Rashida Jones wore a floral dress by Tory Burch. Ashley Greene wore a white gown by Donna KaranElizabeth Banks wore an incredibly ugly dress by Mary Katrantzou.

Jamie King wore a red dress by Top Shop. Brooke Shields had the most-talked about accessory. She was seen using a can as she walked down the aisle, after suffering a foot injury. Solange Knowles wore a yellow Rachel Roy dress. Chloe Sevigny wore a short, black Miu Miu dress. Mia Wasikowska wore a red dress by Prada. Lea Michele wore a navy sequined Diane von Furstenberg dress.

Worst dressed of the entire night has to go to Florence Welch, who wore an outrageous dress by Alexander McQueen.

And that’s a wrap!!

Christina Ricci Is Glad To Be Done With Her Twenties

Christina Ricci sat down with Marie Claire UK and shared that she’s a much calmer person in her thirties than she was in her twenties.  The ‘Bel Ami’ actress shared:

“I’m so glad I’m not 20 years old any more. I was in a hurricane.  I’m a lot calmer now. I don’t cause destruction for myself and others everywhere I go.”

“I take things as they happen and I’ve learned to be calm about things.  Troubleshoot problem as they arise and make the best out of things.”

Christina also shared that she refuses to change who she is to fit in:

“it took a while for me to be comfortable with who I was, to realize everyone might not get my sense of humor, [that] everyone might not like me.”

The actress promises she’s “not going to change who I am” to blend in with her peers.

“I’ve tried. It doesn’t work. I’ve never been very Hollywood.”

Check out Marie Claire’s photos of Christina’s fashion highs and lows throughout the years – it’s pretty interesting.

PICS: A bald Robert Pattinson promotes ‘Bel Ami’ at the 62nd Berlin International Film Festival

You know, Robert Pattinsonwas hot in the ‘Twilight’ films, but he’s starting to lose his sparkle (no pun intended) with me. Bald is NOT a good look on him, but other than that – I’m starting to realize he’s not actually that hot. Okay, he was good looking in that stupid Elephants movie – but that’s about it. I have no desire to see ‘Bel Ami’ (see trailer below), which is a costume drama set in late 19th century Paris based on Guy de Maupassant’s novel about a poor man who sleeps and cheats his way to the top of society.

When asked during this photocall whether or not he would reprise his role of Edward in ‘Twilight’, he said, “I’d be curious what Stephenie would write, but I just think I’d probably be too old. I’m already too old. But yeah, it’d be kind of interesting.”

When asked if his ‘Twilight’ fan base would watch his new film, he responded:

“The biggest disservice you can do to your audience is trying to repeat the same thing and get them to come just to get money or whatever.

“But if people are interested in what you are doing, then if you try and do interesting films on interesting subjects then I think it’s great.”

Asked what he thought of the fans waiting to see him outside the hotel where the press conference was held, he replied:

“The audience outside here is from everywhere, people came from Thailand and stand out in the cold there. I can’t relate on any level, but it’s definitely very nice.”

Picture below…. c’mon, I had to!
