Christina Applegate quits NBC’s ‘Up All Night’, will Lisa Kudrow replace her?

Christina Applegate has decided to leave her NBC sitcome ‘Up All Night’ after two seasons!

The shocking announcement came this afternoon, and is just weeks after creator Emily Spivey left the series.

“It’s been a great experience working on ‘Up All Night,’ but the show has taken a different creative direction and I decided it was best for me to move on to other endeavors,” Applegate said in a statement. “Working with Lorne Michaels has been a dream come true and I am grateful he brought me into his TV family. I will miss the cast, producers and crew, and wish them the best always.”

There’s no word on how “Up All Night” plans to handle such a major loss, but for now, NBC reportedly plans to move forward on production of the show’s third season.

The network is allegedly looking for potential replacements for Applegate, with Lisa Kudrow said to be under consideration, according to Deadline. It’s not unheard of to swap actors for a major character on a TV series, the two Darrens of “Bewitched” come to mind, but it’s unusual and risky.

Applegate starred as working mom Reagan in the Lorne Michaels-produced family comedy about a couple adjusting to life with a new baby, with Will Arnett as her husband and Maya Rudolph as her bossy bestie.

Applegate’s unexpected exit comes just as the NBC sitcom was in the midst of a major overhaul, changing formats from a single-camera comedy to a multi-camera comedy.

The show has been in a state of constant upheaval since it launched in 2011, including tweaking creative elements and character roles within the show, as well as behind the scenes with a merry-go-round of showrunner turnover — original showrunner Jon Pollack left last May and has been replaced twice since.

I don’t watch the show, so it doesn’t matter much to me. But I think it’s strange that she would leave a sitcom so early on in. Something must have happened!

Christina Applegate: “I miss my exquisite breasts sometimes.”

In August of 2008, Christina Applegate made the difficult decision to undergo a double mastectomy, after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Her mother also had breast cancer and survived, and instead of opting for chemo – she opted to have the breasts removed entirely. After having reconstructive surgery, Christina went on to have a baby with her partner Martin Lenoble.

Christina sat down with More magazine and talked about the ordeal, and how losing her breasts was horrible. She wanted to keep her cancer diagnosis to herself, but ultimately decided to share it.

The Up All Night star, who underwent a double mastectomy in 2008 after being diagnosed with the same disease her mother survived, opens up about her painful struggle to come to terms with losing both of her breasts in the November 2012 issue of More magazine, and RadarOnline.com has the details.

“I miss my exquisite breasts sometimes,” she reveals, in reference to a line about her natural mammary glands in the movie Anchorman.

The 40-year-old explains how she was denied the time to grieve, as the media learned about her surgery immediately following the operation.

“The good thing is that we got the information out, but talking about the facts of the disease, I didn’t have to see what was going on with me. I think when it slowed down, all that came crashing down,” she says.

With the help of her friends and family and a spiritual advisor, she overcame what she calls a “total emotional collapse.”

Soon after, she reunited with old friend Martyn LeNoble, and the two quickly fell in love.

“We had always cared deeply for one another when we were friends. And he came and put me under his wing. That was it – he was supposed to come.”

Applegate, who welcomed her first child, Sadie Grace, in early 2011, hopes to have another with her partner, but sadly, it may not be an option.

“Because of some things that happened during my pregnancy, I don’t know if I can. I hope I can. We’ll see,” she says.

I love Christina. I think it’s great she came out and talked about her battle with breast cancer. It’s a very real, honest interview, which is refreshing. Happy that things worked out well for her, and she is happy with her partner and daughter!

Christina Applegate Critical Of Women Who Want To Quickly Shed Maternity Weight

Christina Applegate is speaking out against new moms “obsessed” with losing the baby weight!

The Up All Night star admitted she’s still shedding her pregnancy pounds and maternity clothes… after almost two years, since welcoming daughter Sadie Grace in January 2011.

“I just transitioned out of maternity jeans. I’m working on two years and I haven’t even lost all my weight,” the actress, 40, says. “And those girls that do, they’re spending less time with their kids. I just wanted to hang out with my daughter 24 hours a day.”

Applegate doesn’t ever anticipate making a full recovery or getting back to her original weight.

“I will not be Tweeting photos of me in a bikini, let alone wear a bikini I think ever again in my life,” she shares.

The star really does seem to have a realistic view on real motherhood- it isn’t about rabidly loosing the weight, but enjoying the time you have with your new son or daughter. Celebs who make it about weight loss seem to have the wrong priority, no?

Christina Applegate wants the Paparazzi to leave the kids alone.

Christina Applegate took to her Twitter this morning to blast the Paparazzi for surrounding her and daughter Sadie on an outing.

She is not only angry at the Paps, but also the celebrities who encourage this kind of behavior to further their careers.

Applegate began, “I want my daughter to live a normal life. I want her to feel free to be who she wants, so paparazzi stop taking pics of her! Enough.”

“It’s times like these where I understand why Michael Jackson had his kids covered they were able to be anonymous until they decided to be public,” Applegate wrote, adding, “We need a law against this! Taking pics of kids is sick!”

The actress continued, “When I chose to be an actor we didn’t have paparazzi. We excelled on the merit of our work, not by what gown we were wearing.”

An admittedly “p*ssed” Applegate then called out “those who use paparazzi to further their careers,” saying such stars “are going to have a rude awakening when their talent doesn’t get them anywhere.”

“When I chose to be an actor we didn’t have celebrities. We had actors,” she explained. “Not people who wanted fame. I blame those people who need fame.”

Applegate then reiterated her main point: “Just imagine for one second you having fun with ur kid in the park and a bunch of a holes start surrounding you and freaking ur kid out.”

I totally agree with her. There needs to be a line drawn on when and where the Paparazzi can take pictures. Personally I think stalking people in the bushes and when they are walking down the street is too much. People need their space.

They do need a law where boundaries are set.

Christina Applegate leaves the set of her television show with daughter Sadie Grace LeNoble in Beverly Hills

Actress Christina Applegate was spotted between filming scenes for her new comedy, ‘Up All Night’, with her cute 7-month-old daughter Sadie Grace.

Christina recently talked about her similarities to the character she plays on TV.

“We’ve been self-obsessed for a long time,” says the actress. “I had my baby at … 39! Thirty-nine years of doing whatever I wanted to do. Getting up when I wanted to get up. Going where I wanted to go. Completely self-involved. The adjustment — she makes it easy, because she’s my obsession now.”

During Christina Applegate’s delivery, her epidural was accidentally turned off: “It was profound pain”

“Hall Pass” star Christina Applegate makes an appearance on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show” airing Tuesday, February 22nd. In her first broadcast interview since having a baby three weeks ago, the new mom talks about her daughter, Sadie Grace.

When Ellen asked Christina Applegate about what her labor was like, Christina opened up about how it was a long, painful delivery – and accidentally without the help of an epidural! “It was about 18 hours. I had my plan. Plans are a big joke, you know, [mine] was to have an epidural but I didn’t react to it well. I didn’t like it. I didn’t like the feeling of numbness. I didn’t like it. It was really creepy to me. It was too much so we turned it off and we opted for go all the way. Feeling it all.”

“How was that?” Ellen asked. ” I like to say that I opted for it but they accidentally turned it off.”

When asked if it was a painful delivery, Christina responded “It was profound. It was profound pain. And then that happens (pointing to photo of daughter). Just that moment, pulling her out and I dropped my gown which I don’t do. This part of my body is very private to me [her chest]…that’s a real private place. A place that I don’t have a good relationship with, let’s say. But at that moment of pulling her out and I just tore that thing [gown] off. There’s a room full of people that I don’t know. Nurses and doctors. And she and I just laid there. It was the best thing that’s every happened to me.”

Ellen responded, “That’s a beautiful moment.”

Tune in this afternoon, and catch Christina Applegate on Ellen Degeneres!
