Christina Aguilera reportedly made a late-night trip to a Los Angeles hospital a few days before announcing her divorce, receiving stitches for a bloody lip, according to a RadarOnline report. On closer look, photos taken on October 14 seem to show swelling in Christina’s lower lip as she spends the day with her son Max at a pumpkin patch.

David Perel, RadarOnline’s executive vice president and managing editor, tells Celebuzz that the report “lends even more drama to what is already a dramatic and surprising situation. It is not a domestic violence situation, but there is still a mystery about how Christina sustained the injuries.”

Aguilera’s reps replied “no comment”.

According to the Radar report, Aguilera “was bleeding from her mouth and had a bit of a busted lip” when she went to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center. She was there with Jordan Bratman, her husband at the time, who reportedly told nurses that Christina suffered the injuries during a fall.

Aguilera’s surgeon was reportedly called to the scene to give the singer some discreet stitches in her lip.

Perel says “there’s no reason to doubt” Bratman’s claims on how the injury happened, but adds: “But what happened before she fell down and was injured? That’s the question everyone is curious about.” He goes on to say that there’s more to come on this story later Thursday.

The pop music world was stunned when Aguilera and Bratman confirmed their separation on October 12. Days later, Aguilera took the process one step further, filing for divorce from Bratman, who she married in 2005.

The day after news of her separation from husband Jordan Bratman broke last week, Christina Aguilera, who will appear on the December cover of REDBOOK, spoke exclusively to the magazine about how she was coping with the split.

“It’s not easy, and there have been a lot of tears and sadness,” she said. “It’s impossible to redefine yourself and your life overnight. Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward.”

When asked about the details, rumors (of infidelity on both sides), and whether she and Jordan, whom she married in November 2005, had tried couples therapy to resolve their issues, Christina answered, “Out of respect for my husband, I prefer to keep the specifics private. Right now, I’m just trying to figure out how to make it through each day.

Her focus during this rough, emotional time, she said, was her son, who turns three in January. “Thankfully, I have Max to keep me on a sane path. His needs and happiness are my top priorities, and my biggest concern is to protect him and make him feel safe.”

A representative for Christina Aguilera has dismissed rumours linking the newly-single singer to lesbian DJ Samantha Ronson - insisting they are “nothing more” than just good friends.

The Dirrty hitmaker announced her split from husband Jordan Bratman last week and subsequently filed divorce papers in a bid to officially end the union.

After news of the separation surfaced, the pop star was spotted spending time with Ronson, who previously dated actress Lindsay Lohan, leading to rumours linking the women romantically.

But a rep for Aguilera is adamant the stories are not true, telling the Chicago Sun-Times, “(It is) a good, longtime friendship and nothing more than that.”

Christina is currently getting a divorce from husband Jordan Bratman after getting married back in 2005 and the documents which where filed today citing “irreconcilable differences” as the reason for the split. The couple have a son together which was addressed in the documents for joint physical and legal custody.

Two days after news broke that Christina Aguilera has separated from husband Jordan Bratman, the singer, 29, has filed for divorce.

Citing “irreconcilable differences,” she filed papers Thursday, TMZ reports. She lists the date of separation as September 11, 2010.

According to papers, the two had a prenup.

The divorce petition asks that “Earnings and accumulations of [Aguilera] before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation” be considered separate property.

The petition also seeks to terminate Bratman’s ability to get child support.

Aguilera is seeking joint physical and legal custody of their child, Max, who is 2.

She is being represented by Laura Wasser.

“Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever,” she told Us Tuesday in a statement.
