Christina Aguilera is trying to secretly rebound from her pending divorce with a new man, and PEOPLE has the scoop on her new man!
The superstar singer, 29, has quietly been seeing Matthew D. Rutler, a set assistant from her upcoming movie Burlesque – whom she tried to hide from the cameras Friday when they enjoyed a double date at SoHo House in Los Angeles with friends Nicole Richie and Joel Madden.
A friend tells PEOPLE that the relationship with Rutler started as a friendship, then turned into something more.
“It’s not serious yet, but it’s something she is exploring and finding comfort in,” the friend says. “It’s new and she’s taking it day by day. She and Jordan were having problems for a long time. What kept them together is their love for their son. She met [Matthew] on set and, during a difficult time, leaned on as a friend. After she and Jordan separated, the friendship turned romantic.”
The only good thing that comes from Burlesque could be this new boyfriend. It looks like the worst movie of the year, from the previews!

Christina Aguilera filed for divorce from husband Jordan Bratman not even a month ago. So it’s crazy to think that she’s already looking for a new man….Isn’t it?
According to reports, Christina is open to finding new love. It just seems a little soon to me. At a private Halloween party last weekend, Christina said, “In light of my current situation, here’s to finding new love.”
She also revealed to Redbook, that it’s not all roses when it comes to her divorce. But luckily for her, she does have a good support system in place. She added, “Thankfully, I have my mom and a small group of close friends who are there for me 24/7 and whom I can trust and depend on. On days when it feels impossible to even get out of bed, much less function as a mother, their support and encouragement have kept me moving forward.”
Do you think it’s too soon? Or is she moving at a reasonable pace?

“Express,” one of eight songs performed by the newly single chanteuse on the musical’s soundtrack, enjoyed its world premiere this morning on Ryan Seacrest’s KIIS-FM show and is surely informing the diva dreams of girls and boys everywhere already.
Burlesque, starring Christina Aguilera as a wannabe star who moves to Hollywood and beams to the top of the song-and-dance pack at a struggling nightclub owned by Cher, hits theaters Nov. 24.

That’s how much Christina Aguilera raked in on Halloween when she performed for one hour at a private party.
The guy behind the party is mega-loaded investment guru Charles Brandes — who throws an annual super expensive Halloween bash at his San Diego estate.
We’re told Brandes locked in Aguilera to perform this past Saturday night between 7:30 and 8:30 pm — at a rate of $16,666 per minute … plus hair, makeup, travel and other related costs.
Sources connected to the event insist Brandes didn’t pay Christina a dime over $500,000 — but several well-connected sources in Aguilera’s camp are standing firm on the million dollar mark.

Christina and son Max have moved into a luxury hotel, while she divorces from ex, Jordan Bratman. And according to NY Daily News, she might have some trouble kicking Jordan out of the home they shared.
There’s no law that permits one spouse to order the other one out of the house just because of an impending divorce – no matter how bad things may be.
“Under California law, if you are going through a divorce, one party cannot ask the other to leave just because they’re not getting along,” says Robert Brandt, a certified family law specialist with Feinberg Mindell Brandt & Klein in West Los Angeles. “Even if the house is in just one person’s name, as long as they are married they have equal rights of possession.”
