Christian Bale to Play a Floridian

Celebrities Attend The BAFTA Awards In London

Actor Christian Bale is considering the role of Travis McGee in James D. MacDonald’s adaptation of The Deep Blue Good-By.

Published in 1964, The Deep Blue Good-By is the first of a 21-book series following “salvage consultant” McGee on his adventures and skirmishes throughout Fort Lauderdale as he reclaims items, and sometimes people, for all kinds of seedy clients. Rod Taylor played the “professional beach bum” in 1970′s Darker Than Amber and Sam Elliott took on the role in a 1983 TV movie, simply called Travis McGee.

There was a rumor that Bale was considering a role in Season 2 of True Detective- but he has reportedly turned that down. He’s so amazing in every role he takes on. I’m down for a recurring film role for him- though I can’t imagine them adapting all 21 books…  When is Knight of Cups coming out already?

First Look of Christian Bale as Moses!

Celebrities Attend The BAFTA Awards In London

One of the greater actors of this generation… or so I happen to think… Christian Bale, will be playing the part of Moses in an upcoming biblical epic film by Ridley Scott, Exodus: Gods and Kings, which is due out this December.

The trailer focuses on Moses butting heads with Rhamses (Joel Edgerton) and provides glimpses at the plagues that will befall the Egyptians, including fire, bloody water and a lot of really bad weather. Chariot races and sword fights also abound.

“You say this is not your fault, so let’s just see who’s more effective at killing,” Rhamses  menacingly tells Moses in a pivotal scene.

Also starring in the film are Sigourney Weaver, Ben Kingsley and John Turturro.  I wonder how this will do compared with Darren Aronofsky’s film Noah, which came out this past March starring Russell Crowe?  Apparently biblical films are all the rage right now.

You can see the first trailer for the film here.

Christian Bale’s going to be a daddy again!

Christian Bale & Sibi Blazic Arriving On A Flight At LAX

Christian Bale is going to be a dad again!

The ‘Batman’ star and his wife Sibi are expecting their second child.

“They are truly a supportive couple, he and Sibi are thrilled,” an insider tells Us Weekly. “She’s been traveling with him while he’s been touring around for American Hustle.”

Christian, 40, and his wife, were spotted together on the red carpet at the Oscars last Sunday. Many of you pointed out that she looked very pregnant. Good eye!

The actor and his wife tied the knot in January 2000. They are already parents to an 8-year-old daughter, whom they welcomed in March 2005.

“The last few years of my life have been spent just watching animation — for my daughter — and getting a kick out of that,” the Dark Knight Rises actor gushed to Esquire in 2010 about fatherhood. “I love anything that she likes. If she’s getting a kick out of it, I love it. I find myself tearing up at the most ridiculous things now, sitting next to my daughter while she’s watching a movie.”

He continued: “Me and my wife look across at each other like, “Oh my God! Are we really doing this? Yes we are!”

Congrats to the couple!

Christian Bale signs on to play Moses in new Ridley Scott Biblical epic!

You had me at Christian Bale.

According to multiple sources, Christian Bale has signed on to play Moses in “Exodus,” an upcoming Ridley Scott movie based on the second book of the Bible.

Bale will take on the role of Moses, while Joel Edgerton will take the role of Egyptian pharaoh Ramses in the Old Testament depiction. Filming is said to begin in September, and will shoot throughout Spain, Morocco and England.

“Exodus” is Scott’s next project, following this year’s “The Counselor” and 2012′s “Prometheus.” The script comes from Oscar winner Steve Zaillian (“Schindler’s List,” “The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo”). If the movie follows the Book of Exodus closely, it will depict Moses being raised by the pharoah’s daughter and becoming a prophet, eventually leading the enslaved Israelites out of Egypt and receiving the Ten Commandments on Mount Sinai.

Bale’s turn as Moses marks another Old Testament figure coming to life at the hands of an acclaimed director. Darren Aronofsky’s “Noah” hits theaters in March 2014 and stars Russell Crowe as the titular ark builder.

I can’t wait for ‘Noah’ AND ‘Exodus’!
