Christian Bale won’t face charges over claims he assaulted his mother and sister, according to reports.

The 34-year-old actor was arrested in London last month over accusations he attacked his mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, at the city’s Dorchester Hotel before the British premiere of The Dark Knight.

Bale was questioned by U.K. police over the incident and was subsequently released on bail.

But British Crown Prosecution Service lawyers have advised police to caution the actor - meaning he will not face charges, according to The Sun newspaper.

Bale will have to admit guilt to get a caution when he answers bail next month. He currently denies the allegations.

Christian Bale’s fiery temper was triggered by the pressures of fame, his former assistant has claimed.

The Dark Knight star, 34, was arrested earlier this week over claims he assaulted his mother and sister on the eve of The Dark Knight premiere in London.

And ex-employee Harrison Cheung blames Bale’s early start in Hollywood for his temper.

He says, “When he filmed a movie called Metroland, his nickname was Tandy because he was always throwing tantrums. He would yell until he was red in the face. It was very intimidating.

“Fame started to change Christian. He went from earning GBP100,000 a movie to earning millions.”

Cheung believes Bale, who also played a convincing American Psycho in the chilling movie adaptation of Brett Easton Ellis’ novel, is not that far removed from his Batman character.

He explains, “People say Christian is a great Batman because he brings a darkness to the role. But I know the real Christian and I know the darkness is not an act.”

Cheung also claims Bale never really wanted a career in Hollywood and was forced into acting by his father, David.

The former assistant insists the Batman Begins star was insecure and lacked confidence.

He adds, “He’d never trained as an actor and told me there were demons inside him saying, ‘You can’t do this. You’re not good enough.’ He thought about quitting many times. Then he’d say, ‘But who would support my family?’

Legal sources told The Sun the women said sister Sharon needed $200,000 to help her bring up her three children.

They said Bale, 34, snubbed the plea and a row flared in his suite at the Dorchester Hotel in London’s West End.

Welsh-born Bale was alleged to have “pushed and shoved” mum Jenny, 61, and Sharon, 41.

But sources close to 6ft 2in Bale, who has another sister called Louise, said Jenny inflamed the situation by hurling insults about his wife Sibi, 38.

A source close to the case said:

“Christian is a very wealthy young man and was asked to help his sister out financially.

He was asked to loan her $200,000 but he refused and that caused an almighty row.
During that row, the women claim, he assaulted them by pushing and shoving them. Both Jenny and Sharon are terribly upset over what happened.

They did not want any publicity and the last thing they wanted to do was wreck his premiere evening. But they say he bullied them.

They are both devastated that it has come to this but want him to be taught a lesson. “

Sharon and Jenny, a part-time clown from Bournemouth, left the hotel on Monday morning and, on the way to their Dorset home, stopped at a Hampshire police station and reported Bale for assault.

He was arrested when he attended Belgravia police station, Central London, on Tuesday.

Bale, who denies all assault claims, flew back to his Los Angeles home later that day but must return to Britain in September to answer bail and learn whether he will be charged.

Sharon, who works in computer programming, has two daughters — aged ten and 12 — from a previous marriage and a baby from a new relationship.

Bale is said to be undergoing difficulties with wife Sibi Blazic.

And he was alleged to have exploded on the set of a movie in the US last week.

He has taken over the role of sci-fi hero John Connor in the fourth of the Terminator series.

Christian Bale’s sister Sharon confirms that “there was an incident” involving the Dark Knight actor, 34, but declined to reveal anything more about the actor’s arrest Tuesday.

“The police are dealing with it,” Bale’s sister Sharon told reporters, according to London’s Daily Telegraph. “It is an extremely sensitive situation. There is nothing more I can say.”

Added his mother, Jenny: “Yes, I was there, and yes, there was a family situation, but the police are handling it, and I cannot say anymore at the moment.

“We didn’t call the police to the scene,” Jenny said. “I can’t say anymore, but we didn’t call the police.”

Bale’s attorneys released a statement Tuesday denying that the actor had assaulted his mother and sister.

His attorney added that Bale turned himself in Tuesday to give “his account in full of the events in question.”

Despite his arrest, Bale’s attorney stressed that the Dark Knight star “left the station without any charge being made against him by the police.”

Bale is accused of lashing out at his mother, Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, at London’s Dorchester Hotel Sunday.

Bale appeared to be undeterred by the news at Monday’s premiere of The Dark Knight in London.

He told Usmagazine.com it felt “great” supporting the movie as he walked the carpet with his wife Sibi. (They have a daughter Emmaline, 3.)

Asked what it was like to have the highest box office ever, he told Us, “it’s wonderful! But I’m not a business man. I just enjoy doing what I do and whatever happens after that is gravy.

“I hope people are as excited about the movie as I am,” Bale added. “The good thing is I don’t feel like a con-man - the movie really does live up to the hype.”

There are reports circulating that Christian Bale was arrested for verbal assault, and one of Bale’s reps is echoing that.

Batman’s Christian Bale was arrested in London Tuesday, following assault allegations reportedly made by his own mother and sister.

He was released from the precinct station later in the afternoon, and he is to return to a station in September, pending further inquiry, a police rep tells People.

Bale, 34, allegedly lashed out at his mother Jenny, 61, and sister Sharon, 40, on Sunday at London’s Dorchester hotel, where the actor was staying before Monday’s U.K. premiere of The Dark Knight.

According to Britain’s The Sun newspaper, Bale’s mother and sister went to a police station in Hampshire Monday, which turned the case over to London officers.

“A 34-year-old man attended a central London police station this morning, by appointment, and was arrested in connection with an allegation of assault,” a police spokesman told People. “He is currently in custody.”

It is a policy in England to arrest a suspect before questioning him in connection to a possible crime. Bale has not been formally charged, therefore the police did not release his name.

Late afternoon Tuesday, a police spokeswoman told People: “A 34-year-man has been [asked] to return to a central London police station on a date in September, pending further inquiries.”

At 4:20 p.m. London time, Bale, with a 10-man police escort, was taken from the Belgravia police station’s rear exit into a blacked-out silver Mercedes people carrier and transported to the Dorchester hotel, where he was driven into the underground entrance.

Monday – the morning after the alleged incident – Bale appeared on GMTV, a U.K. morning show. Bloggers called the actor grumpy, but a GMTV spokesman told People, “He didn’t seem on edge.”

Bale is scheduled to be in Barcelona Thursday for the record-breaking film’s Spanish-language premiere.
