MTV, in the home stretch of planning for Sunday’s 2009 Movie Awards, has announced another group of presenters for the show, including Chris Pine, Kiefer Sutherland and the Sacha Baron Cohen character Brüno.
Also joining the list are Leann Rimes, Ed Helms, Anna Faris, Justin Bartha and Triumph the Insult Comic Dog, MTV tells PEOPLE exclusively Thursday. Other stars, announced earlier this month, who will bequeath the Golden Popcorn trophies include Will Ferrell, Cameron Diaz, Vanessa Hudgens, Ryan Reynolds, Denzel Washington, Leighton Meester, Jonah Hill and Lil Wayne.
The show is being hosted by Saturday Night Live funnyman Andy Samberg. Eminem and Kings of Leon are among the musical performers scheduled to appear.
Twilight leads the film hopefuls with seven nominations, including best movie, best female performance (Kristen Stewart) and male breakthrough performance (both Robert Pattinson and Taylor Lautner). Slumdog Millionaire earned six nominations, including best movie, female breakthrough performance (Freida Pinto) and male breakthrough performance (Dev Patel).

It’s been a while since Hollywood had a bona fide homegrown movie star: they tend to come from places like Missouri or Kentucky, not Studio City. But here’s Chris Pine, 28 years old, native to “the Valley,” and now seen on-screen as the new Captain Kirk in director J. J. Abrams’s young-guns reboot of the original Star Trek.
Pine didn’t slip effortlessly into William Shatner’s double-knits. “There have been, like, three auditions in my life where I feel like I’m in a Saturday Night Live skit. One was for Avatar”—James Cameron’s upcoming science-fiction epic—“which was probably the worst audition I ever gave. Another was for 10,000 bc, where I was just, like, on my haunches pretending to be in a loincloth in Burbank.” Pine laughs. “Then the other one was Star Trek. It was all this jargon talk of torpedoes and photons,” which, needless to say, didn’t quite trip off the tongue. Fortunately, he got a second chance seven months later and nailed it.

Pine, who graduated from U.C. Berkeley, comes from two generations of actors: his father, Robert Pine, has 200-odd television shows to his credit; his grandmother is B-movie actress Anne Gwynne, who was often seen in horror films. Chris Pine isn’t jaded, but neither is he naïve. “I know where I come from and what I want and why I got into [show business]. I know the reality of it. I just hope that I have longevity in my career.”

His dad is the CHiPs guy! Crazy!

Yep, that’s Audrina on the left.
Audrina Patridge and Chris Pine were sipping drinks with friends at the Red Lion Tavern in LA on May 15, but In Touch has learned that it wasn’t the first time the two have been spotted together. In fact, they’ve been on a date!
“Chris and his girlfriend broke up in March, and he is definitely single,” an insider reveals to In Touch. “They went out, and Audrina is into him.”
On May 2, a few weeks before being caught at the Red Lion with friends, the reality star, 24, and the Star Trek hottie, 28, kept a low profile, but left his building early in the morning — just a few minutes apart. And though they are being secretive about a relationship, the two first met at Tao in Las Vegas at ShoWest.
“They both got awards and were at a dinner with friends. They said a quick hello,” the insider says. “That’s where they met. Chris was looking at Audrina a lot, and you could tell that he thought she looked pretty — he was intrigued.”
Audrina left Chris’ apartment building on May 2, just 10 minutes before he left to board a flight.
