Chris Martin is a big fan of tattoos, insisting the buzz he gets from having them done is like a drug.
The Yellow hitmaker, who has several pieces of body art, admits he turned to the inkings after becoming scared of being caught out by the media if he ever took drugs.
Martin, who is married to Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow, says, “Getting tattooed is brilliant. I got a few done in my 30s and it is the best ever - especially if you are married and can’t take drugs because the Daily Mirror might find out. I recommend getting a tattoo whether you are 70 or 12 - actually, maybe not 12, I think that might be a bit too young.”

Chris Martin has said that a Blur song was the first inspiration for the band when they began recording their new album.
According to the singer, Sing from Blur’s debut album Leisure was a starting point for the writing of Coldplay album Viva La Vida, reports Xfm.
“Sing was the first song we plagiarized for the new album”, said Chris.
The band recently presented Xfm’s Residency slot and spoke of some of their more unexpected influences.
German metal band Rammstein were praised by the band, as were 1980’s pop band A-Ha who Martin called “one of our formative influences”.
“[The Strokes] are the classic band of our generation. And I would argue for Muse as well. And Arcade Fire. And that’s just the boys! Beyonce’s better than all of us”, he added.
Elsewhere, MTV reports that the band recently enlisted top directors Hype Williams and Anton Corbijn to film two different videos for their track Viva La Vida.

Miley Cyrus is thrilled to hear Coldplay would consider touring with her because she has a huge crush on frontman Chris Martin.
Martin revealed he is a fan of the teen sensation in a recent radio interview, and insisted he’d never rule out hitting the road with Cyrus.
He said, “Anyone we like or respect, no matter how different they may be, we would play with. She’s doing something quite different… I just think she seems to have a sweet character.”
And Cyrus couldn’t be happier with the news, confessing she would like to replace Gwyneth Paltrow as the next Mrs. Martin.
She says, “In my other life, I would definitely be, like, Chris Martin’s dream girl. He’s awesome, he’s, like, the most amazing performer. When I went to a show, he was like a saint.”

Courtney Love has lavished praise on her close friend Gwyneth Paltrow - insisting the Hollywood actress always “takes good care” of her.
The former Hole frontwoman met Paltrow while the actress was filming her Oscar-winning role in 1999 movie Shakespeare In Love and the pair has been close pals ever since.
And Love insists that despite drifting apart over the last few years, Paltrow and her husband Chris Martin are now incredibly caring towards her.
She writes on her Myspace internet page, “It’s amazing Gwyneth Paltrow and her amazing husband Chris and I have reconnected. She has always been a very close friend of mine. Regardless of people’s perception of Gwyneth, compassion is her middle name. I love this girl, I love her husband, I love her kids. She takes damn good care of me. She calls me once a month to make sure I am doing OK.”

Chris Martin has revealed he’s a closet fan of Miley Cyrus and her TV show Hannah Montana.
The Coldplay frontman has yet to meet the teen sensation but already knows he’d like her if he did.
He says, “I like Miley Cyrus… I like the TV show.”
And Martin insists he’d even consider supporting Cyrus at a concert for what would be one of the oddest gigs ever.
He adds, “I’d do it. Anyone we like or respect, no matter how different they may be, we would play with. She’s doing something quite different… I just think she seems to have a sweet character.”

Coldplay’s U.S. tour started on a sour note for frontman Chris Martin when he was refused access to a pre-show party.
The British rocker’s name wasn’t on the list for a rooftop bash at the Thompson Beverly Hills hotel on Saturday night, and doormen failed to recognize the singer.
Martin had to sit by an elevator while friends attempted to explain to party hosts that a famous rock star had been refused access to the event.
A source tells Eonline.com, “Everyone’s like, `This is the lead singer of Coldplay.’ The security man wasn’t rude, but he just asked him if he was on the list.”
The mix up was quickly resolved and Martin was allowed to party with his friends.
