American Pie‘sChris Klein has booked a multi-episode arc on FX’s forthcoming Elijah Wood-fronted comedy Wilfred, sources confirm to TVLine exclusively.
The series, based on the hit Australian sitcom of the same name, revolves around a guy (Wood), a girl (Californication‘s Fiona Gublemann), and a human/dog hybrid named Wilfred (Jason Gann, reprising his role from the Aussie original).
Klein, who recently guest-starred on Fox’s The Good Guys, will play a love interest for Gublemann’s character.
After more than 30 days in rehab, American Pie actor Chris Klein has decided to extend his stay.
“Chris, along with his support team, has decided to extend his treatment,” his rep tells UsMagazine.com.
No word on how long Klein, 31, will remain at the Cirque Lodge in Utah., where he checked in June 21 shortly after his second DUI arrest June 16 (his blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit of .08).
Says his rep, “He is doing fantastic and is optimistic about his future. He thanks everyone for their continued support.”
Chris Klein could find himself behind bars for 4 days if he’s found guilty of his second DUI offense!
Klein was arrested on June 16th around 3 a.m. after he was caught driving erratically. He was found to have a blood alcohol level of nearly three times the legal limit!!
The actor has been charged with two offenses: driving under the influence with a prior conviction and driving with a .08 blood alcohol level or higher. Klein’s previous conviction was in 2005.
Due to a new California law for repeat DUI offenders, Klein might have to do a breath check for alcohol in his system each time he wants to drive his car. The California Highway Patrol spokesman Leland Tang confirmed, “If he wants his license back, Klein will have to get an interlock device installed in his car and blow into it every time he wants to start the engine.”
Last week, Klein voluntarily checked himself into rehab at Cirque Lodge in Utah. At the time, his rep told PEOPLE, “After recent events, Chris was forced to take a clear look at a problem he has been trying to deal with himself for years. He understands now that he cannot beat this disease alone. He thanks everyone for their support as he takes all the necessary steps to deal with his addiction and asks for privacy while doing so.”
According to UsMagazine, Chris Klein has checked himself into rehab, days after getting his second DUI.

Chris checked into a 30-day alcohol program at the Cirque Lodge in Utah on Friday. Actresses Eva Mendes and Mary Kate Olsen have also been treated there.
Last Wednesday, Klein was arrested on suspicion of drunk driving in L.A. His blood alcohol level was three times the legal limit of .08.
He was also arrested on drunk-driving charges in 2005.
Klein split with actress Ginnifer Goodwin in 2008. Before that, he was engaged to Katie Holmes.
Chris Klein wasn’t just drunk when he was busted for a DUI early this morning – he was really, really drunk. According to law enforcement, his blood alcohol level was almost three times the legal limit!
TMZ reports that Chris blew well over a .20 when he was arrested early this morning on the 101 in Los Angeles. The legal limit in California is .08.
Could this latest DUI land Chris in jail? He has a history of drinking and driving! Klein was arrested and convicted of DUI back in 2004, and because of California law – he is required to serve a minimum of 4 days in jail if convicted of a DUI again. (4 days!? Really? That’s it!?)
And to make matters worse (for Klein) there’s a new law that’s going into effect in July – which could apply to Chris if he’s convicted after that date – that requires multiple DUI offenders to have an “ignition interlock system” installed in their vehicle if they want to drive.
That’s gotta be a cock-block. Having to blow on a breathalyzer before you’re allowed to drive.
‘American Pie’ actor Chris Klein was arrested early Wednesday on suspicion of driving under the influence, TMZ is reporting. Police say Klein was pulled over on a freeway in Los Angeles at 3:13 AM and was arrested after failing a field sobriety test.
It’s unclear if Klein, 31, is in police custody or if he posted bail.
This isn’t the star’s first brush with the law. In early 2005, he was arrested and charged with with two misdemeanor counts of DUI after police clocked his blood-alcohol level at .20, far exceeding California’s .08 limit.
This video is making the rounds online today, and hot dang, it’s the funniest thing I’ve ever seen!!!
Apparently Chris Klein auditioned for the role of Sky in 2008′s Mamma Mia. The role (thankfully) was given to Amanda Seyfried’s boyfriend, Dominic Cooper instead.
Chris Klein’s crazy eyes give me the heebie jeebies! Can you imagine if he had gotten the role? He’s creepy!!! You seriously have to watch the whole video and thank the Lord for Dominic Cooper. Mamma Mia could have been a disaster!!
