Rihanna to Cops: Chris Brown Threatened to Kill Me

Earlier today, the Los Angeles district attorney asked police detectives to dig up more evidence for their case against Chris Brown.

The police are getting cooperation from Rihanna, and what she has told them so far is chilling.

A source close to the investigation tells E! News exclusively that Rihanna has alleged to police that Brown choked her while threatening to kill her and, subsequently, she lost consciousness.

They began squabbling after leaving Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party late Saturday. Shortly after midnight, things blew up. Brown pulled his silver Lamborghini to the side of a street in L.A.’s Hancock Park neighborhood. That’s when, per the source, Rihanna grabbed the car keys and tossed them out the window, sending Brown into a rage.

He tried in vain to find the keys, then came back to the car, put his hands around her neck and, according to the insider, said, “I’m going to kill you!”

According to the source, the 20-year-old “Disturbia” singer told police that she lost consciousness, and when she awoke, Brown had fled.

According to the source, her right eye was blackened and badly swollen and she had hand prints on her arms. The responding officers were so concerned about her, they drove Rihanna to the hospital in their squad car instead of waiting for an ambulance.

Officers took two sets of photographs of the banged-up singer, one at the scene and the second after she was admitted to Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment. Those photos were presumably among the evidence presented to the district attorney.

After being treated for her injuries, police escorted her down a rear elevator and into a waiting Mercedes, the source says.

Brown, 19, was subsequently booked on suspicion of making criminal threats. He was released after posting $50,000 bail.

His lawyer, Mark Geragos, has not responded to repeated requests for comment on the allegations. Brown’s publicist also has not commented.

A spokeswoman for Rihanna declined to comment specifically on details of the fight and the arrest and stuck to her earlier statement from Sunday: “Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support.”

Chris Brown loses his “Got Milk” campaign.

chris-brown-milk-b.jpg

The fallout from Chris Brown’s alleged assault against girlfriend Rihanna continues.

The singer, 19, will no longer be involved in the “Got Milk” ads once the campaign ends this week.

“The Milk Mustache campaign is taking the allegations against Chris Brown very seriously,” a company rep tells Usmagazine.com. “We are very proud and protective of the image of the Milk Mustache campaign and the responsible message it sends to teens. Mr. Brown’s ad was launched last fall and is scheduled to end this week.”

On Monday Brown — who was arrested and charged with making criminal threats in connection to the early Sunday morning altercation — with Rihanna — withdrew from Saturday’s NBA All-Star Weekend.

Wrigley Gum ads featuring Brown also have been suspended, Us confirms.

Meanwhile, Rihanna — who was left with bruises and scratches after her fight with Brown — is said to be cooperating with detectives as they launch a battery investigation.

Chris Brown withdraws from NBA All-Stars

A day after Chris Brown was booked on felony criminal threats charges, he pulled out of the NBA All-Stars, a league spokesperson confirmed to Usmagazine.com. “Chris Brown has withdrawn from NBA All-Star events,” the NBA rep told Us Monday. The singer was scheduled to participate in the basketball association’s All-Star festivities in Phoenix Sunday and was also planning to play in a celebrity game two days prior to the event.

Brown turned himself in to Los Angeles police Sunday night for an alleged battery on a woman, who was later learned to be his girlfriend, singer Rihanna. Brown, 19, has also had his ads with Wrigley gum suspended after the incident. The case is being presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office. Additional charges, including those of domestic violence, may be filed.

No more Wrigley ads, harumph!

Latest on the Chris Brown/Rihanna dispute!

rihanna_chris20brown_2.jpg

Update 1: Law enforcement sources tell TMZ Rihanna’s injuries were severe — two “huge contusions” which swelled up on both sides of her forehead. We’re told she also suffered “a bloody lip and nose.”

One of the law enforcement people put it this way — the contusions “look like an MMA fighter or something … [It] looked like she was growing devil’s horns.”

We’ve also heard that Rihanna may have suffered bite wounds on one of her legs and arms, however, one source close to the situation tells us he doubts that is the case.

Chris Brown has been booked on a felony criminal threats charge. If the D.A. files the case, domestic violence charges could be added.

Update 2: According to a source close to the investigation, Rihanna made the 911 call to police after Brown “fled on foot” from the scene following the attack. Two officers from the LAPD Wilshire Division found Rihanna in Brown’s rented silver Lamborghini “beaten really badly and hysterical.”

Brown had taken the keys to the car with him and Rihanna was basically left on the side of the road with the car.

“Rihanna didn’t want anyone to touch her, she was in so much pain,” the source says.

Rihanna, whose full name is Robyn Rihanna Fenty, had visible bruising and scrapes on her face and what appeared to be bite marks on her body. Officers took her to the emergency room at Cedars-Sinai Medical Center for treatment.

A member of Rihanna’s inner circle tells E! News her family is making plans to get her out of L.A.: “They want to get her back to Barbados. They want to keep her away from Chris right now.”

Update 3: Although the Los Angeles Police Department issued a statement Sunday night saying Brown had been arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats and could face additional charges now that the case had been forwarded to the district attorney, prosecutors tell E! News that the announcement was premature and the investigation is ongoing.

“LAPD are telling some reporters that we received the evidence but we have not received anything yet,” says Jane Robison, spokeswoman for the county district attorney. “Normally it would come in today, maybe this afternoon, but no, they haven’t presented it and I don’t know when they will.”

Robison says the probe is still continuing—unusual for such cases—as detectives want to make sure they do a thorough job, given that a celebrity is involved.

Brown’s camp, including newly hired criminal attorney Mark Geragos (who has represented the likes of Michael Jackson and Winona Ryder), has remained mum on the incident.

Meanwhile, LAPD spokeswoman April Harding is shooting down a TMZ report from earlier today (which has since been corrected) that claimed Brown used “a deadly weapon” during his alleged attack.

“There is absolutely no truth to that story. If it had been a deadly weapon involved, he would have been charged with a deadly weapons charge,” says Harding.

Rihanna Identified as Alleged Victim in Chris Brown Assault

These photo’s were taken just hours before the incident, at the Clive Davis Grammy Party.

Sources report that Rihanna (real name: Robin Fenty) is the alleged victim in the felony battery investigation involving her boyfriend, singer Chris Brown.

On Sunday, around 6:30 p.m., Brown, 19, turned himself in to Los Angeles police and was officially booked at 7:41 p.m. for making criminal threats.

Brown posted $50,000 bail and was released.

The case is being presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office; additional charges may be filed.

Brown — who has hired lawyer Mark Geragos (who defended convicted murderer Scott Peterson and Michael Jackson during his child molestation trial) — is due in court March 5.

The incident occurred early Sunday morning near Hancock Park in L.A.

Police confirmed late Sunday that an unidentified woman phoned 911 and claimed she got into a fight with the singer and he attacked her.

Police say the woman had visible injuries. When officers arrived, they found the victim, but Brown had already left the scene, police say.

Both Brown and Rihanna pulled out of Sunday’s Grammy Awards at the last minute.

When contacted by Us, Rihanna’s rep said, “Rihanna is well. Thank you for concern and support.”

Chris Brown surrendered to Los Angeles police on Sunday evening regarding a felony battery investigation of the R&B singer, Officer Karen Smith confirms to PEOPLE.

“He turned himself in around 7 p.m. to one of our stations and is being interviewed by detectives now,” Officer Smith said.

According to law enforcement records, Brown, 19, was taken into custody at 6:30 p.m. and was officially booked at 7:41 p.m. for making criminal threats.

Brown posted $50,000 bail and was released.

After the case is presented to the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s office additional charges may be filed. The penal Code that defines a criminal threat reads:

Brown is, according to the arrest report, due in court March 5.
