Amidst rumors of spouting gay slurs and controversy with FOX News anchor Laura Ingraham’s not so nice words about his character, singer/actor Chris Brown has landed a role in the upcoming movie, Think Like a Man, the film adaptation of comedian/radio host/author Steve Harvey’s book, Act Like a Lady, Think Like a Man.
Harvey, 53, published the nonfiction book in 2009 to teach women “what men really think about love, relationships, intimacy and commitment.”
In the no-nonsense book, Harvey provides “some valuable information” to empower women about how to better deal with the men in their lives.
Brown’s real-life romances have been a far cry from romantic-comedy material. In Feb. 2009, he was arrested on domestic violence charges for felony abuse on then-girlfriend Rihanna. “Words cannot begin to express how sorry and saddened I am over what transpired,” he said in a statement.
The “Next 2 You” singer continued to struggle with his temper. In March 2011, when asked by Robin Roberts on Good Morning America about the incident with Rihanna, Brown was visibly irritated, then went on to smash a dressing room window by throwing a chair at it.
This should be an interesting match-up, considering the topic of the book and Chris’s personal struggles. Production has already begun on the film, and it is set to be released in April, 2012.

‘Dancing With the Stars’ host Tom Bergeron has bowed out of interviewing Chris Brown when the singer performs on the show tonight. His reason? He can’t promise not to poke fun at the R&B singer’s problems.
Chris was at the center of controversy again last week when he smashed a window backstage after an appearance on Good Morning America, following a tense interview about his 2009 attack on ex-girlfriend Rihanna.
And Bergeron doesn’t want a repeat of that showdown on his show.
In an interview with Los Angeles DJ Ryan Seacrest, Bergeron says, “Don’t put me in a position where you’re asking me to not say something, ’cause I won’t really do that.”
Brown has stated he no longer wants to discuss his past problems in interviews.

In the midst of all the public apologies and promotional appearances, most have forgotten about the poor window that met it’s fate during Chris Brown‘s Good Morning America tantrum.
Philip Kaplan Glass, a business in the Big Apple, went in to replace the glass and the costs break down as follows:
-$583.26 for the glass
-$1472.10 for the labor of three men for five hours at $98.14 each
Even though Chris has never (publicly) admitted that he is responsible for the break, I wonder if he’ll be fitting the bill for the repairs anyway.

Even though rumors swirled that his performance on Dancing with the Stars would be canceled after his Good Morning America outburst yesterday, Chris Brown will indeed be performing on the show next week as planned.
A source close to the show says:
“Chris Brown is, of right now, still confirmed to perform on Dancing with the Stars on Tuesday. The subject of canceling was brought up but the decision was made to keep him on.[...]It was a tough decision for the network to make and it involved a lot of discussion, but they ruled in favor of him in the end.[...]However, the Dancing cast has been ordered not to make any comments to the press regarding Brown’s performance.”
Doesn’t sound like Chris is completely out of the doghouse, but we’ll keep you updated if anything changes.

Good Morning American host Robin Roberts reached out to Chris Brown saying that she would like to have the singer back on the show, even after his outrageous outburst on the set yesterday.
Robin claims she was “shocked like everybody else” when she heard about the extent of Chris’s rage yesterday, but she would gladly have him back (probably to probe him about why he got so angry).
On this this morning’s Good Morning America, Robin said:
“We wish [Brown] the absolute best and…we’ve extended the invitation to him and I sure hope that he takes us up on it, because we’d love to have another chat with him.[...]Anytime we have a guest here on the program, we let them know ahead of time the subject matter, the topics that we’re going to discuss and we, even right before the interview, I said that to Chris and I was shocked like everybody else was.”
No word on whether Chris will be making another appearance on the program, but I wouldn’t hold my breath.

Earlier I blogged about how Chris Brown had an outburst at the ‘Good Morning America’ studios after his interview with Robin Roberts because she asked him questions about his incident with Rihanna instead of focusing on discussing his new album ‘F.A.M.E.’.
Well now, according to TMZ, Chris actually approved questions about the Rihanna incident prior to his interview with Robin.
Sources tell TMZ … Roberts insists both she and other “GMA” staff members spoke with Chris before the interview and asked if it would be OK to fire off “a few questions” about the Rihanna incident … and Chris approved.
As TMZ first reported, Brown flipped out after the interview — and apparently smashed a window in his dressing room.
Robin is telling people at the show she did NOT try to set him up … and insists, “I’m pulling for the guy.”
As for the broken window, sources say no one in the studio saw Chris throw the chair into the window … but he was definitely in the dressing room when the window was smashed.
I do believe that Chris approved questions about the Rihanna incident. And I do believe that Robin was “pulling for the guy.” Chris probably got flashbacks that vigorously stirred up his emotions… and props to him for waiting until he got to his dressing room to explode (as opposed to reacting on camera). I mean, everyone reacts differently. Chris has emotions — he’s not a robot. I can’t completely blame him. Can you?
