Chevy Chase has been tapped for a multi-episode arc on ABC’s “Brothers & Sisters.”

He will play Stan Hirsh, the highschool boyfriend of Nora Walker (Sally Field), on the ABC Studios show.

It is shaping up to be a busy romantic season for Nora who also has a new love interest played by Danny Glover.

Chase, who now has his own recurring segment on “Saturday Night Live’s” “Weekend Update” on NBC, is set to being filming “Brothers & Sisters” on Thursday.

I loooooooooooove me some Brothers and Sisters. Last season it was one of my favorite shows.  But with that said, I have to say - I’m getting really tired of all the melodramatic storylines on the show.  Okay, okay, truth is, I’m just tired of seeing Sally Field cry every ten minutes.  I agree - ABC - she’s a great crier.  But do we need to make her cry every freaking scene!?  I challge ABC to come up with a whole episode with NO crying from Sally Field.  Is it even possible?  Hopefully Chevy will bring some freshness to the show.  It’s kind of lagging right now - the last 2 episodes (the first of the season) have been very bland and in my opinion, boring.

Chevy Chase will never forgive his mother and step-dad for the tortuous beatings he received as a child. Chase admits he lived in “deathly fear” of his mentally-ill mother Cathalene and stepfather because they subjected him to regular psychological torture.

In his new autobiography I’m Chevy Chase . . . And You’re Not, he claims his mother once slapped him “continually and hard, across the face. I don’t remember what it was for, or what I had done. I lived in fear all the time - deathly fear.

“I always turn to it in my mind…I’ll never forgive them. At their graves I didn’t. It was too hard for me. You would think a grown man could shake it off, as the coffin was being lowered, to say, ‘I forgive you.’ I don’t forgive.”
