According to Deadline.com, Hugh Grant might be just about to sign on to join ‘Two and a Half Men’ as Charlie Sheen’s replacement!
When I first read the news, I did a “huh!?” double-take, but then I thought about it – and it’s actually quite brilliant. If anyone can play the bad-boy/playboy – it’s Hugh Grant. Genius!
Deadline reports that the British star was “deep into negotiations” to replace the fired Charlie Sheen on the hit CBS sitcom, with an offer of over $1 million an episode on the table. Grant pulled out at the last minute due to “creative differences,” though at that money, he could reconsider.
Sheen, of course, was fired after launching a wild tirade against the show’s creator, Chuck Lorre. His insane radio rants led to the cancellation of the rest of the show’s most recent season; Sheen’s reaction following the cancellation included perceived anti-semitic attacks that helped seal his permanent exit.
The show has been working to retool without Sheen, though, obviously, no solution has been found.
Grant hasn’t appeared on the big screen since the panned 2009 comedy “Did You Hear About The Morgans?”
I’m gonna be honest, I never watched ‘Two and a Half Men’ when Charlie was on it. I know it’s hilarious and everything, I just don’t really do sitcoms. Anyway – with Hugh – I’d HAVE TO WATCH!
At $1 million an episode – Hugh would be crazy to turn it down. That’s insane money! Go for it Hugh!
