Charlie Sheen has issued an apology after expletive-laden answer machine messages he left for his ex-wife Denise Richards two years ago were made public online.

In the 2005 voicemails, which have been circulating on the internet for the past two days, an angry Sheen rages about what he calls his former wife’s “lawyer bulls**t” in the midst of their divorce proceedings.

He rants, “I guess I should just get used to the fact that… you fire off your nonsense and your lawyer bulls**t and your f***ing e-mails and then you don’t answer the phone.

“I’m just really f***ing mad and you owe me a phone call… If I did the same s**t to you, you’d be f***ing furious.”

And in a follow-up voicemail, from April 19th of the same year, Sheen goes ballistic, shouting, “I hope you rot in f***ing hell. You’re a piece of s**t, f***ing liar… I hope I never f**king talk to you again you f***ing c***. You’re a coward and a liar and a f***ing n***er.”

In a statement released on Wednesday, Sheen apologizes for “my choice of words,” particularly his racist slur, naming his friend Tony Todd, an African-American, “who was my best man at my first two weddings”.

Defiant Sheen also uses his apology to further attack his ex, adding, “For the record, my children did not show up today for a custodial visit without explanation.

“So three and one half years later, the reasons that caused the anger and frustration displayed on that voicemail continue to be manifested on a daily basis.”

The former couple divorced in 2006 and has since been embroiled in a bitter dispute over custody of their two daughters, three-year-old Sam and Lola, two.

Denise Richards has a message for her ex-husband Charlie Sheen: “The gloves are off,” she says in the upcoming issue of TV Guide. “When I keep my mouth shut, [Charlie] continues to fuel [the feud] anyway, so I’m not gonna sit back anymore.”

As Usmagazine.com previously reported - “They were told there were going to be flower girls. But then Charlie changed his mind,” Richards tells TV Guide.

For the ceremony Sheen and Mueller gave the girls necklaces to wear.

“But when they came home I was told by the nanny they had to give them back,” Richards fumes.

“I said, ‘But aren’t they a gift?’ The nanny said, ‘They are, but they can only wear them at his house.’ I said, ‘Have him call his lawyer then, ‘cause I’m not gonna tell a 3- and 4-year-old, ‘You have to give back the necklaces Daddy gave you and only wear them at Daddy’s house.’”

Richards continues, “Now, I know this sounds f—ing crazy – and it is. But this is what I deal with.”

But the E! It’s Complicated reality star hasn’t given up on the idea of finding happily ever after.

“I’m not bitter from this. I know I’ll find the right one, damn it. But when I do I will never get divorced. I’m done,” Richards says. “But I love men. I’ve never ended badly with someone except my ex-husband.”

That includes her controversial romance with Heather Locklear’s ex husband Richie Sambora.

“The timeline was that Charlie and I ended, then my friendship with Heather [Locklear] – which wasn’t a long friendship – ended, then she filed for divorce, and then Richie [Sambora] and I got together after that,” Richards explains. “But I knew that in the public’s eye – because Heather is America’s TV sweetheart – it wasn’t gonna go over well…Because the press made it seem that she and I were having dinner on Friday and I was screwing her husband on Sunday, and that’s not the case. Heather knows that I did not ‘steal’ Richie. She knows it.”

As for the criticism she’s received for swearing like a sailor on It’s Complicated?

“I absolutely do not swear in front of my kids ever, ever, ever,” she says. “I know it’s not classy, but…well, I don’t drink, I don’t smoke, I don’t do drugs. I just swear.”

While Charlie Sheen has promised to no longer speak about his estranged ex Denise Richards to the press, the actress has clearly not taken the same vow.

“I’m done with Charlie,” she tells AOL. “I’m at a point where I’m sick of it, and now I’ll just talk because I’ve had three years of this. It’s crazy.”

“Crazy” are all the “lies” the actor puts out there about her, trying to paint in her in a negative light, Denise says. Some of his untruths? That she wanted to crash his wedding to Brooke Mueller, requested an early copy of his OK! wedding cover story, received $40 million in their divorce and asked him for his sperm.

“All of that is garbage,” she says. “He needs to shut up. He talks about me exploiting the kids, but he’s exploiting our entire situation in the public.”

Although Charlie’s remarried, Denise is not looking for a new relationship yet despite the fact that the series premiere of her reality show Denise Richards: It’s Complicated showed her going on a date.

“I’ve been through hell,” she says. On top of everything else, I lost my mother over the holidays. I’m not looking for a relationship. If one happens to come along, fantastic. But I’m fine just focusing on being with my girls and working and getting things more settled.”

And perhaps another Playboy spread is in the cards as well.

“It’s still a possibility. It’s so iconic and fun. I think that my niche is as a sex symbol. I’m never going to be the girl next door, so why not play up my niche?”

Denise Richards has offered an olive branch to her ex-husband Charlie Sheen - pleading with the star to stop publicly bashing her now he has re-married.

The former couple divorced in 2006 and has since been embroiled in a bitter dispute over custody of their two daughters, three-year-old Sam and Lola, two.

And they have taken any opportunity open to them to showcase their distaste for each other, with Sheen accusing the beauty of sending him emails begging him to donate his sperm so that she could carry another one of his children.

The claim infuriated Richards, who slammed the star, saying, “I don’t want Charlie’s prostitute-tranny-infested sperm”, when defending herself to New York’s gossip column Page Six.

Sheen also blasted their time as husband and wife after his recent marriage to Brooke Mueller, saying, “It feels like my first real marriage (to Mueller). The first one (to Donna Peele) was a show, the second (to Richards) was a con, and this one is the real deal.”

But, now, Richards claims she is tired of their public feuding, and is hoping her former partner will act “civil” towards her now that he has a new wife.

She says, “He loves to trash me in the press and discredit me and has tried to sabotage my show. I can’t change that, so I just keep living my life. I hope that now that he’s married, he can move forward and be civil.”

The pair divorced in 2006 but has since been embroiled in a bitter dispute over custody of their two daughters, three-year-old Sam and Lola, two.

They have spent months in court battling over the amount of time Sheen has with his children and his right to choose the nannies for their kids - rather than allowing his ex-wife’s employees into his home.

And now - in a hearing on Monday - a Los Angeles judge has ordered Sheen and Richards to equally split the bill which has been racked up by their ongoing legal feud.

Sheen remarried last week, with Brooke Mueller becoming his third wife at a small ceremony in L.A.

Charlie Sheen’s new bride is taking cookery lessons after promising the actor she’d serve up treats in her wedding vows.

The new couple, who wed last week, had an unusual ceremony, featuring vows they wrote themselves.

Sheen agreed to turn down the TV when his new wife Brooke was talking to him and she vowed to “cook more meals outside of the microwave.”

The new bride explains, “I don’t know how to cook many things. It’s not one of my attributes. But I promise him I’m going to start learning. I’m going to go learn how to cook through cooking classes and friends and I’m going to start.”

Sheen came up with the fun vows idea because he’s tired of serious wedding ceremonies.

He tells OK! magazine, “The traditional vows are so outdated that these days, the only difference between a wedding and a funeral is the casket.”

With a suit from Men’s Wearhouse, a no tie policy and a rock band at the reception, Charlie Sheen’s wedding to Brooke Mueller was anything but traditional, so why should their vows be?

Eschewing the tired “to have and to hold,” the bride and groom, who tied the knot in an intimate ceremony on May 30, each penned their own vows that were both sweet and a little strange and had their guests roaring with laughter.

The groom kicked it off with promises to “organize less and listen more,” “quit breaking a hug too soon,” and “mute the ball game when Brooke says, this is a matter of life and death,” among others.

The bride followed, pledging to “cook more meals outside of the microwave,” “keep the pile of debris on my side of the bed below the two foot mark,” and “clean my closet at least once per decade.”

Both closed their vows with “this and that, such and such. Yada, yada, yada, blah, blah, blah.”

The quirky vows about each other’s annoying habits made the ceremony “more personal, more fun, lighter,” Charlie tells OK!.

“The traditional vows are so outdated that these days, the only difference between a wedding and a funeral is the casket,” he says.

Though he admits to being a poor hugger, some of the vows weren’t completely truthful, Charlie claims, since he’s “actually a really good listener.”

“But [the vow] had a good written ring to it,” he says. “Organize less part is something I deal with daily — I’m a Virgo and an extreme one and I just like my environment to maintain some sense of order at all times.”

That would explain Brooke’s vow to clean her closet and keep the debris at a minimum. But the former real estate investor is quick to defend her organization techniques.

“He’s anal!” she exclaims.” What it was is not really debris but clothing. He’s so clean and organized that if I leave my pajamas or my clothes on the side of the bed or some water…he thinks I’m being messy and not clean and organized. I think I’m just being relaxed and normal and not having to fold my pajamas and put them away the moment I wake up.”

One thing Brooke isn’t denying, though, is the fact that she really can’t cook, but as her vow suggests, she will definitely be making an effort to whip up something nice for her man.

“I don’t know how to cook many things,” she says. “A lot of women are great cooks and were brought up cooking and it’s not one of my attributes. But I promise him I’m going to start learning. I’m going to go learn how to cook through cooking classes and friends and I’m going to start.”
