Actor Chad Michael Murray signs copies of his first graphic novel ‘EverLast’ at Barnes & Noble in New York City.
During a recent interview with Entertainment Tonight, the “One Tree Hill” actor said, “For the last eight years I’ve loved and grown with this story. It came to me after meeting a man who showed up on my doorstep in Wilmington, NC. I really hope everyone enjoys it.”
Not only is Chad showing off his authoring talents in the venture – he’s also unveiling his charitable side. The Hollywood star is giving 100 percent of the proceeds from the short’s download on his website (http://www.thechadmichaelmurray.com/everlast-2) to a choice of three charities, voted upon by tweeting #EverlastCharity with the name of the fan’s choosing.
“Hunters Hope is a local charity from my hometown of Buffalo, NY. I’ve worked with them for years and they are very close to my heart. It was Founded by Hall of Fame and Buffalo Bills Quarterback Jim Kelly, who’s son Hunter Kelly passed away from Krabbe’s disease. Their mission is to raise awareness about universal newborn screening and to give our children a better chance at a normal life.”
“The Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric Aids Foundation is an amazing organization and I feel fortunate that I am able to attend their events and learn about the cause. There are enough obstacles in a kid’s way already without living with HIV or full-blown AIDS. The transmission of the virus to beautiful, young children needs to be stopped,” Murray told of the second charity.
He added, “To Write Love on her Arms (TWLOHA) is a socially important non-profit that started virally from a story written by founder Jamie Tworkowski. It aids in bringing more awareness and council to self mutilators and addicts. I was blessed to be involved in a film version of this story (slated for release in 2012). It’s really something special.”

Chad Michael Murray has learned that happiness is someone who makes you laugh – and he wants to pass his message on to all the single women out there.
“To all the girls out there who think being funny is not sexy, you are wrong!” the actor said at Sunday’s Teen Choice Awards in L.A.
In fact, the One Tree Hill heartthrob says his current relationship is so successful simply because “she makes me laugh, and we never get bored.”
Murray, 26, has been engaged to former One Tree Hill walk-on Kenzie Dalton for a little more than two years. He describes his fiancée as his “best friend [who] supports me and makes me laugh.”
“It’s not that she’s just pretty, she’s my buddy,” he adds. “I never have actually had a girl who’s made me laugh before.”
Asked if he and his bride-to-be have set a date for their nuptials, the actor, who was briefly married to his One Tree Hill costar Sophia Bush in 2005, was coy. “I would like to be married someday,” he teased. “No, I’m really looking forward to it. I have a really, really great girl in my life right now.”
He also keeps a little something with him at all times to remind him of that special woman. “I have a necklace around my neck that my lady gave me,” said Murray, “so I try never to leave home without that.”
