TV TONIGHT: What to watch live, and what to DVR!

Tonight is going to be a good night of TV, so good, in fact, I may watch some of it live! I am a very impatient person, so watching TV live is actually physically painful for me. My DVR is my buddy. Sad, but true.

8:00PM

WATCH LIVE: Glee I’ll be watching Glee on Fox live tonight, because I can’t wait another minute for the highly anticipated Britney Spears episode! Heck yeah! Check back in tomorrow as we go over the whole show!

DVR: No Ordinary Family I’m not sure if I’m going to like this show, but it’s been getting a lot of great reviews! ABC debuts this new show, about a family with superhuman powers. Yeah, sounds hokey to me too, but slightly interesting. This fantasy show revolves around the Powells, a family that has grown apart. The father gathers his family for forced vacation, when their plane crashes (lots of planes crashing in these series premieres!) into a magical body of water in Brazil. They emerge from the water with mysterious powers. TV Guide’s Fall Preview issue: “There’s plenty to like in this muddled hybrid of family drama, supernatural adventure and slapstick comedy. It’s certainly unusual, but has a ways to go to become truly incredible. Or even exciting.”

9:00 PM

SKIP: Running Wilde at 9:30 on Fox. Yikes, that was a nightmare. It was the most un-funny show I’ve ever watched. Ever!

DVR: DWTS & Biggest Loser I say DVR Both DWTS (ABC) and Biggest Loser (NBC). You know why? I don’t watch either. DWTS makes me want to down a bottle of aspirin, and Biggest Loser is just not entertaining.

10:00PM

WATCH LIVE: Parenthood Parenthood (on NBC) is hands down my favorite TV drama right now. I love, love, love it! It’s going to be so good tonight as it returns for it’s third episode of the season. Woo hoo!

DVR: Teen Mom It’s just sick and wrong how addicted to this (MTV) show I am. I don’t know who I can’t stand more… Amber – or Farrah. Can you believe these women procreated? You should have a license to bear children, that’s all I have to say. And if one of you finds Caitlynn’s mom, and slaps some sense into her, I’ll buy you a twinkie.

PS: I’m gonna admit when I’m wrong. I should have started watching The Good Wife from the beginning. I know it’s a good show – from everything I’ve read. I just couldn’t bring myself to do it. For one thing, I’m not a fan of CBS dramas. I prefer their reality shows, Survivor & The Amazing Race are my kind of shows.  And secondly, I’m not a huge fan of Julianna Margulies. I’ve never liked her for some reason! Even since ER, she just rubbed me the wrong way. Anyway – that premieres tonight at 10:00, so if you’re into that sort of thing – there you go!

Survivor: New Twists, New Night!

In the 21st season of the CBS hit Survivor, the contestants are headed to Nicaragua! There’s usually a twist in each season, and this season is no different! Rather than be men vs. women, fans against favorites or heroes vs. villains, this year it’s the older vs. the youngins!

The new 20 contestants will be split up into two tribes: The Espada Tribe for individuals 40 and older and the La Flor Tribe for those 30 and younger!

Joining Survivor: Nicaragua is legendary football coach Jimmy Johnson. The old versus young division is not the only twist this season. At the very opening, Probst will reveal to the contestants a brand new item: the Medallion of Power. The Medallion can be used by a tribe to give itself an advantage in an immunity challenge, but once used, it goes over to the other tribe to use when it sees fit. “The Medallion of Power is designed to give you power at challenges,” explains Probst. “And our job is to make sure that the advantage is enough to tempt you — not so much that it’s a landslide, but enough that you go, ‘I’m not sure we should take it. Maybe we should, maybe we shouldn’t.’”

Check out Survivor: Nicaragua, which premieres on a new night, Wednesday, Sept. 15 (8 p.m. ET) on CBS.’

I don’t think I like the fact that it’s moved to Wednesday! It’s always been on Thursdays, Thursday is a good night! What do you think of the move?

Check out the new cast here!

Paula Abdul to Return to TV

Paula Abdul is coming back to TV to judge on CBS’s Got To Dance! It has been a year since her departure from American Idol and I don’t know about you, but I have missed her. American Idol is just not the same without Paula and her craziness. So I am thrilled to here she is coming back to TV.

It had been rumored that Paula would join Simon Cowell on his upcoming show The X-Factor, but I guess she had other plans in mind. This show is going to feature all styles of dance and that is right where Paula shines. I can’t wait to tune in.

Ghost Whisperer not dead yet?

Jennifer Love Hewitt’s spooky TV series Ghost Whisperer may have been brought back from the dead – TV executives at ABC might have given the show a lifeline. The long-running drama was axed last week as part of a sweep by executives at CBS.

However, Hewitt’s co-star and ex-boyfriend Jamie Kennedy has revealed there is still “life” in the program after ABC chiefs expressed interest in picking up Ghost Whisperer for its future schedule.

He says, “They are talking about it, so that’s cool. We haven’t exactly gone into the light, we haven’t crossed over, but we’ve got some life.”

Ghost Whisperer premiered in 2005.

CBS Pulls ‘The Ex List”

exlist.jpg

Just call it the ex-Ex List.

CBS is pulling the struggling freshman drama off its schedule, effective immediately. An Eye insider confirms that the show’s Friday 9 p.m. time slot will be filled this week with an NCIS rerun.

Since debuting last month, Ex List has been squandering nearly half of the audience of its lead-in, Ghost Whisperer. Last Friday’s installment hit a series low 5.1 million viewers (compared with 9.9 for GW).

Well that was fast!

Did “Survivor” Lunch Lady Lie to Swipe $50K?

1218_survivor_school_wi_02.jpg

The “Survivor: China” lunch lady who said she’d been demoted to “cleaning toilets” by her school, and got $50,000 of sympathy cash from the show because of her story, is having her tale flushed out — by the school.

As EW.com reported yesterday, Douglas, Mass. School Superintendent Nancy T. Lane said in a statement that Denise Martin actually got promoted from “cafeteria employee” to “custodian” — at a higher salary and with better benefits before she appeared on “Survivor.” Lane says, “I watched my own jaw drop when [Martin] said that, because it’s absolutely not true.”

Today, Martin appeared with Lane on CBS’ “The Early Show,” and apologized profusely for what she said, though she stopped short of admitting that she’d lied to get the money, and won’t give back the $50K. Mark Burnett Productions didn’t return a call for comment, though CBS said yesterday, “If these statements were misleading or false, we hope that she will take immediate and public steps to clarify her remarks.”

Go here to watch the video of Martin on The Today Show.
