Katie Holmes is returning to TV – briefly.
Katie will join a long list of seasoned actors who guest star on ‘How I Met Your Mother’. The actress joins the likes of Rachel Bilson, Sarah Chalke, Jennifer Morrison and Laura Prepon.
According to NY Magazine’s Vulture, Katie Holmes has been invited to appear on the show’s Halloween episode next month – in a role called ‘Slutty Pumpkin’. A role so important, the series sixth episode will be named after her.
At a Halloween party Ted attended in 2001, he met a woman dressed as a free-loving gourd, learned a handful of facts about her, and wrote her number on the wrapper of a candy bar, only to have Lily (Alyson Hannigan) give it away. Since then, Ted has attended the same party every year, hoping against hope that this particular Pumpkin will return. It’s sort of like Linus and the Great Pumpkin, plus the hope of casual sex.
Still best known either as Joey Potter of “Dawson’s Creek,” or as Mrs. Tom Cruise (depends whom you ask), the 32-year-old Holmes was last seen on TV playing First Lady Jackie Kennedy in the Reelz miniseries “The Kennedys”; she’s also currently in theatres in the feature “Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark.”
Vulture’s report doesn’t indicate that Holmes will appear in more than one episode; rather, her, er, “Promiscuous Fruit” is part of what series co-creator Carter Bays has described as Ted’s “exorcising…his demons” by revisiting some of the women in his past. It’s too bad Holmes probably won’t recur: Victoria is fine and all, but can her cupcakes really compete with a jack-o’-lantern costume embellished with strategic (erotic) cut-outs?
Seems very un-Katie Holmes, but that’s probably exactly why she’s doing it. Either way – I’ll watch for sure!

SPOILERS: STOP READING if you aren’t caught up on ‘Big Brother’!
‘Big Brother’ contestant Shelly Moore has found off what happens when you piss off America. According to TMZ, the reality star’s family has been receiving death threats from fans of the show after she voted to evict Jeff Schroeder!
“Big Brother” contestant Shelly Moore pissed off America when she voted to evict fan favorite Jeff Schroeder last week — and now TMZ has learned her family has been receiving death threats from deranged fans because of the move.
Sources close to Shelly tell us … the reality star’s family has received multiple phone calls from people threatening violence … even making threats against Shelly’s 8-year-old daughter.
We’re told Shelly’s employer has also been receiving harassing phone calls — demanding the company fire Shelly immediately because of the way she voted on the show.
Sources tell us Shelly’s family is preparing to get the FBI involved — because they’re taking the threats VERY seriously.
UPDATE: “Big Brother” Executive Producer Allison Grodner released a statement on Twitter … saying, “No matter how much you dislike an HG, this is wrong! True BB fans do not try to ruin lives. Please stop!”
Let’s be honest…. ‘Big Brother’ SUCKS without Jeff. You know you wanted Jeff and Jordan to be the final two (ok, so I did). And especially now that Porsche is HOH – I seriously feel like tuning out. I know Shelly deserves to win just like everyone else – but I don’t want her to! I want Jeff back!!!

Ashton Kutcher is the highest paid actor on TV according to a new report, earning a whopping $700,000 per episode on ‘Two and a Half Men’ – and all this without a single episode airing yet.
Several reports claimed Ashton was pulling in $700K per episode, but TMZ is now reporting he could be earning as much as $800,000 to $900,000 per episode.
Ashton Kutcher has replaced Charlie Sheen as the highest-paid actor on television, bringing in $700,000 per episode of “Two and a Half Men,” reports TV Guide Magazine.
In its annual “Who Earns What” issue, the magazine says that Kutcher’s salary — which equates to $16.8 million for a standard 24-episode order — is actually $500,000 less per episode than what Sheen made last season, before departing in ignominy earlier this year. (Sheen has said his full payment per episode was closer to $2 million, presumably including syndication royalties and other payouts.)
Other surprises from the issue:
Ted Danson will receive $225,000 for each episode of “CSI,” which is $125,000 less than what Laurence Fishburne made. But it’s on par with other established stars, as both Kiefer Sutherland and Tim Allen will make $225,000 for their respective shows, “Touch” and “Last Man Standing.”
Both Scott Pelley and Piers Morgan receive less than a third of what their predecessors Katie Couric and Larry King made, and Regis Philbin left “Live! With Regis and Kelly” rather than accept a cut from his $15 million annual salary.
Anderson Cooper will make around $11 million this year combined with his CNN salary and his syndication haul.

Ashton Kutcher has begun working on the set of “Two and a Half Men”! Here we get our first glimpse of Ashton on the set with his costars.
After months of buildup, press tours and cryptic insults from network suits, Ashton Kutcher has finally begun the actual work of filming “Two and a Half Men.”
The former “That 70s Show” star, the heralded replacement for an off-the-rails Charlie Sheen who was fired after epic rants against the show’s creator last season, plays Walden Schmidt, a broken hearted internet billionaire. Kutcher has received nothing but praise from the show’s producers, who, in addition to plotting out the new character, have been hammering out a vengeful funeral for Sheen’s Charlie Harper character that will take place in the first episode.
According to TMZ, Harper will have suffered a brutal death by falling off a Paris subway platform and getting hit by a train in the time between last season’s early end and this season’s premiere, allowing the producers to hold a star-studded funeral for the womanizer who helped the show reach number one in the ratings. For details on that funeral, including guests and set photos, click over to TMZ.
Are you going to watch the show now that Charlie’s gone?

Teasing “All Will Be Revealed” during its season premiere, Two and a Half Men launched a new teaser campaign that shows Jon Cryer, Angus T. Jones and Ashton Kutcher seemingly naked holding up a their launch date. Effective? Sure, it plays off the curiosity around the recast show and hints at characteristic Men raunchy humor. Though we don’t want to speculate what Cryer is frowning at…
You excited? I will watch for sure… at least the premiere.

On the season premiere of ‘Two and a Half Men’ Alan and Jake will learn Charlie Harper IS DEAD.
Sources connected with the show tell TMZ … Chuck Lorre’s plan is to make sure Charlie Sheen can NEVER come back on the show. Although the first show won’t be filmed until August 5, producers have been kicking around scenarios, which include Charlie driving a car over a cliff.
Of course, it would be art imitating life, because two of Charlie Sheen’s cars went down a cliff on Mulholland Drive.
As for how Ashton Kutcher enters the picture, there’s been talk that he buys Charlie’s house after Charlie kicks the bucket.
Sources tell us … the first script still isn’t locked and Lorre often makes changes until close to taping, but it’s pretty clear — Charlie Harper is pushin’ up daisies.
Looks like Charlie may not need CBS anyway! Sources tell Radar Online that Charlie is close to signing a deal to return to TV! Find out where!
