Esquire honored its favorite performances of 2007 — Denzel Washington, Cate Blanchett, Javier Bardem, Jake Gyllenhaal, Robert Downey Jr. and Emile Hirsch — with two different covers for their December issue.

Cate confirmed the pregnancy rumors at the Golden Age premiere in Sydney yesterday. Source reads:

After some weeks of speculation, and a runaway pregnancy-rumor thread at the forums, Cate has confirmed her pregnancy.

The Sydney Morning Herald reports the following:
Cate Blanchett revealed during a glamorous red carpet appearance in Sydney last night that she is expecting her third child.

Wearing a pink dress that was draped in bright orange organza, Blanchett said she was in the early stages of pregnancy.

When asked if she was expecting, the Oscar winner beamed and said: “Yes, I am.” The mother of two boys shook her head at rumours that it was a boy, saying: “You know more than me. It’s early days yet. It’s due in April.”

Andrew and Cate already have two sons, Dashiell and Roman.

CATE BLANCHETT has likened BOB DYLAN to an unidentified flying object – because the legendary rocker is so elusive. The Australian actress, who appears as the Like A Rolling Stone singer in new movie I’m Not There, has never met Dylan. Blanchett tells MTV, “He’s a bit like a U.F.O. A lot of people have sightings.” But at least, she’d know Dylan – if she was sitting next to him, unlike her brother-in-law, who once thought the folk-rock icon was a gardener. She adds, “My brother-in-law was at a party in Los Angeles in the ’80s and was having a smoke with some guy, talking about horticulture, and after he left someone said, `How do you know Bob?’ And he said, `I thought he was the gardener!’”
