Carrie Underwood takes a nasty fall onstage!

Carrie Underwood took a nasty spill last night in Corpus Christi, TX, where she was performing a concert.

The singer, 30, tweeted the photo below of her foot in a walking brace, making fun of her accident. “Hey, remember that time in Corpus Christi when that girl busted her butt on stage?! Hilarious. Oh wait, that was me!”

The accident occurred when her five inch heels got caught on the hem of her long skirt, sending her falling backwards.

The pet-loving Underwood, who is set to host the CMA Awards on Nov. 6 in Nashville with Brad Paisley, added that she and her aching foot were recovering just fine. “Good news, it’s not broken… AND I got some new footwear,” she Tweeted.

But even as the six-time Grammy winner made fun of her spill, at least one of her Twitter followers praised her show-must-go-on moxie as she completed her song seated on stage. “@carrieunderwood didn’t fall tonight. She attacked the floor … Wearing five-inch heels. She’s got mad ninja skills,” the fan Tweeted with wishes for Underwood to feel better.

Underwood was expected to return to the stage Friday night on her next tour stop in Hidalgo, Texas.

Carrie Underwood covers Marie Claire, opens up abut her personality, “I do wish I were softer, but hey, I’m not a sociopath”

Carrie Underwood lands the US cover of Marie Claire (earlier today we saw Miranda Kerr’s racy Australia cover). I think she looks absolutely gorgeous on the cover, and in the picture inside. It’s not a typical magazine cover, and I think I kind of like that. She looks very beautiful.

In the interview, she talks about how she’s perceived by the public, and how she can’t help her personality. It’s obviously gotten her where she is today, so who’s complaining?

Here are some highlights:

On her personality: “I’m not a mushy person at all. We were never a huggy family. Or a ‘let’s talk it out’ family. Technically I have siblings but they are quite a bit older than me – I was the accident – so I have the only-child syndrome going on. I’m a little more selfish, a little more independent, a little closed. I do wish I were softer. I wish I were able to form relationships better. But hey, I mean…I’m not a sociopath.”

On anxiety: “At the beginning of my career, I used to have panic attacks. People were touching me, screaming – it made me really nervous. In public, I just get nervous. It’s a physical reaction, feeling like the walls are closing in. The fans are great. It’s not their fault. I don’t ever want to come across as ungrateful. But on my end, it is hard for me to process. Because I am still just me.”

On awkward moments: “My husband calls me the queen of awkward moments. Anything that can be made awkward, I will make it awkward.”

What she wrote in her high school yearbook: “You were supposed to say what you would be doing in 10 years, and I said, ‘I will be rich, famous, and married to a hot guy.’ I guess I should have added a few more things.”

On having kids: “I don’t feel old enough to have kids. I know I am mature. But being responsible for another human?”

Carrie Underwood in hot water for supporting gay marriage

Carrie Underwood found herself in trouble with some fans after coming out in support of gay marriage.

In an interview with British newspaper The Independent, the country music star said she believes everyone should have the right to love. She went on to say that her church was gay-friendly and that it’s not her job to judge people.

Underwood’s comments created a backlash online from those angry with her stance. When asked about it later she said she is all about the music, not politics.

“I was asked a difficult question in the last five minutes of an interview and I answered it the best way I knew how, and after that I do what I do and I love making music and I generally try to stay out of any kind of controversy,” she told The Associated Press in an interview on Tuesday.

That said, Underwood is a former “American Idol” and Grammy winner who knows what she says will be heard.

“The role-model word is really scary to me, because no matter what happens in your life, something you do, wear, say, sing, whatever – somebody somewhere is probably not going to like it too well,” she said. “I just really try hard to do what I do and try to be nice to people and make great music and if people think they can look up to that, that’s wonderful. If not, that’s OK too.”

I agree with Carrie completely. Religion (and I’m religious) gets a very bad rap for being judgmental. And I don’t believe it’s our job to judge, either. You can do more good just by loving people than you can by judging them.

Here are some new pictures of Carrie arriving at an event in London, England.
