Adding another notch on her I’m-way-more-successful-than-Kelly-Clarkson belt, country music sweetheart Carrie Underwood was inducted into the Grand Ole Opry Saturday night.
The American Idol season four champion and three-time Grammy Award winner told the sold-out crowd, “This really seems like a great family to be part of. I promise I’ll do everything I possibly can to not make you regret it.”
Country music star and Opry member Garth Brooks presented the award to Underwood, who is the current Female Vocalist of the Year for the Academy of Country Music and the Country Music Association. He told her, “Nothing will last as long or be more important than this award right here tonight. Congratulations.”
Membership to the Opry is invitation-only and based on the artist’s commitment to the show and overall contribution to country music. Underwood, 25, made her debut on the 83-year-old radio program in 2005, just two weeks after winning Idol. She’s currently on the road headlining her Carnival Ride tour.

“Girls have it harder in country music – guys can be balding and overweight. But look at the women… I hire people to make me beautiful so I can keep up with everybody else.”
Carrie Underwood on the pressures of looking good.

Carrie Underwood has named and shamed the boyfriend who was too embarrassed to be seen with her after a softball accident in a new magazine interview.
The pretty country star was left with a broken nose and two black eyes when the ball struck her squarely in the face – and her cruel boyfriend only made her feel worse.
She recalls, “I went on a date to the movies that night, and the guy wouldn’t even take me out to eat after.
“The next day he told everyone he was embarrassed to be seen with me.”
But Underwood has had the last laugh twice – snubbing the ex after she won American Idol and now naming him in an Instyle article.
She adds, “After Idol I went back home and signed autographs, and his younger siblings were there.’
“They said, ‘Do you remember Justin? He wanted us to give you his number.’ Guess what? I did not call him.”

Carrie Underwood had an emotional moment during her concert with Keith Urban at The Arena At Gwinnett Center outside of Atlanta on Thursday.
During a performance of “Don’t Forget to Remember Me,” from her album Some Hearts, the country chanteuse broke down into tears in the middle of the song’s second chorus. According to an audience member, the singer cried through several lines of the song – then attempted to tackle the chorus but broke down again.
According to a rep for Underwood, the emotional song was inspired by the singer’s mother – and leaving home. In it, she sings: “Hey Momma … tell Me-maw that I miss her/ Yeah, I should give her a call/ And make sure you tell Daddy that I’m still his little girl.”
But the night wasn’t all dour for the former Idol. According to a concertgoer, Underwood later perked up, telling the crowd she’s found the love of her life. His name? Ace – her dog!

“I don’t know how y’alls’ dating life is, but mine’s not so great.”
Country singer Carrie Underwood is not enjoying single life following the breakdown of her relationship to Chace Crawford.
It’s all good, though, I’m sure she can make a good country song from the experience.

Sources say that Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford have split up.
The couple had been dating since last July, but did not go public with their romance until October.
In December, a source close to the couple said, “His parents are fond of her. They believe Carrie Crawford would be a great addition to the family!”
Apparently not.
And for the record, to silence those rumors that Chace Crawford and J.C. Chasez were gay, he called into Kiss-FM and said, “For the record, we’re both straight. We’re not dating.”
