Carrie Underwood breaks down during Atlanta show

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood had an emotional moment during her concert with Keith Urban at The Arena At Gwinnett Center outside of Atlanta on Thursday.

During a performance of “Don’t Forget to Remember Me,” from her album Some Hearts, the country chanteuse broke down into tears in the middle of the song’s second chorus. According to an audience member, the singer cried through several lines of the song – then attempted to tackle the chorus but broke down again.

According to a rep for Underwood, the emotional song was inspired by the singer’s mother – and leaving home. In it, she sings: “Hey Momma … tell Me-maw that I miss her/ Yeah, I should give her a call/ And make sure you tell Daddy that I’m still his little girl.”

But the night wasn’t all dour for the former Idol. According to a concertgoer, Underwood later perked up, telling the crowd she’s found the love of her life. His name? Ace – her dog!

Carrie Underwood is not enjoying the single life

Carrie Underwood

“I don’t know how y’alls’ dating life is, but mine’s not so great.”

Country singer Carrie Underwood is not enjoying single life following the breakdown of her relationship to Chace Crawford.

It’s all good, though, I’m sure she can make a good country song from the experience.

Carrie Underwood & Chace Crawford broke up via text message

Chace Crawford

Carrie Underwood and ex-boyfriend Chace Crawford ended their relationship via text message, but no one is saying who broke up with who.

She says, “We broke up over text, so it’s like ‘peace out.’ It was completely mutual, we’re both fine.”

She went on to add that they haven’t spoken to each other in a while, but it doesn’t mean that she dislikes him.

The romance “just didn’t work,” Underwood added, “and we both knew it didn’t work and [there are] no hard feelings at all whatsoever.”

Whatever happened to talking to your soon-to-be ex in person?

Carrie Underwood & Chace Crawford have broken up

Carrie Underwood

Sources say that Carrie Underwood and Chace Crawford have split up.

The couple had been dating since last July, but did not go public with their romance until October.

In December, a source close to the couple said, “His parents are fond of her. They believe Carrie Crawford would be a great addition to the family!”

Apparently not.

And for the record, to silence those rumors that Chace Crawford and J.C. Chasez were gay, he called into Kiss-FM and said, “For the record, we’re both straight. We’re not dating.”

Kenny Chesney snagged 11 nominations on Tuesday to lead contenders for the annual Academy of Country Music awards, and Rodney Atkins, who has had four straight number one singles, was second with six.

Atkins whose “If You’re Going Through Hell” was the most played country single of 2006, was Top Male Vocalist in last year’s academy competition.

Chesney’s nominations included one for Entertainer of the Year, which he has already won three times. Another win would tie Garth Brooks for academy honors in that category. The academy had originally announced Chesney had 12 nominations but later revised the total to 11.

The nominations were announced in Nashville along with the announcement that, for the first time, fans will choose the winner of the “Entertainer of the Year” award. Voting will start on May 5 and the awards will be presented on May 18 in Las Vegas in a program aired on CBS Television.

Third on the nominations list was Brad Paisley with four, while the duos Big & Rich and Sugarland also each won four nominations.

Brad Paisley was nominated for Entertainer of the Year, Top Male Vocalist, Album of the Year for “5th Gear” and Video of the Year for “Online.”

Big & Rich snared nominations for Top Vocal Duo and, for the song “Lost in this Moment,” Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year. John Rich was nominated for a producer and writer award, and Big Kenny for two producing awards.

Sugarland’s four nominations were for Top Vocal Duo, and for the song “Stay,” Single Record of the Year, Song of the Year and Video of the Year. Jennifer Nettles also received two nominations for writing and producing, and Kristian Bush received one for producing.

Besides Chesney and Paisley, other nominees for Entertainer of the Year were the duo Rascal Flatts, George Strait and Keith Urban. The nominees for female Vocalist were Lambert, Swift, Martina McBride, LeAnn Rimes, and Carrie Underwood. Top Male Vocalist nominations went to Atkins, Chesney, Paisley, Strait and Urban.

Carrie Underwood is open to acting

Carrie Underwood

Carrie Underwood12 has said that her next big project could be on the silver screen, following her big win at the Grammys Sunday night.

The American Idol star has revealed that she has already been offered some acting roles, but wouldn’t say in what.

“I’m not going to say what I turned down,” she told reporters at Clive Davis’ pre-Grammy party Saturday in Beverly Hills. “We have had some offers for different things, but nothing has really felt right.”

The “Some Hearts” singer says she’d most most like to star in a light-hearted comedy. “I know I am not going to be the lead roles in some drama,” she said, “but if a small fun part comes open, than yes.”
